The house is perfectly situated, close to shops/cafes/bars/restaurants/the river yet feels as if you are in the countryside. Very well equipped for self catering, small pool so feels safe for children and excellent laundry facilities.
Only downside was lack of air conditioning upstairs and only one fan, so can get very hot when temperatures are over 30 degrees outside.
The house was well equiped, comfortable and had lovely views over the river from some of the front rooms, and parts of the village from the large terrace at the rear. That it has enough kitchen ware, cutlery and crockery etc for 8 people was clear when we invited friends (4 adults and 2 children) for aperitifs one evening. But we loved it as a hideaway in magical Roquebrun for just us two. Once it was heated, pool in the secluded courtyard was our favourite place in the morning and evening. The spacious garage (with narrow entrance!) was also wonderful to have as street parking was very limited. Aside from practical aspects, the house itself is charming.
We had a beautiful stay in this gorgeous village. The house is a real village house but modern and with all the practical stuff. Great bedrooms, a great terrace with a magical view on the mountains and the village and of course the swimmingpool. The garage is also very useful for multiple cars! Everything is to do by foot (access to the river, the restaurants and the bakery). Ideal stay for 2 families for example!
We spent 2 wonderful weeks in this lovely gite in Roquebrun - the gite is spacious, tastefully decorated and well equipped and the pool good sized. The village is beautiful and there are good restaurants, bars and an ice cream parlour also selling bread/croissants
Lots to do in the area - highly recommend
Roquebrun was perfect for us and our 4 children. Village is beautiful and all amenities within walking distance. The river is wonderful and much time was spent playing, canoeing and swimming in it.
Local restaurant is fab and staff friendly.
We didnât want to leave.
It's a lovely comfortable house well stocked with everything you need. It's in an excellent location within a beautiful friendly village. It is also within easy reach of interesting nearby towns such as St Chinian.
Roquebrun has always been a favourite of ours - it is one of the most beautiful French villages we know of. Add to this its location along a picturesque river valley and the little restaurants serving honest local fare...what more could you want?
This large home provided us with the perfect base from which to enjoy all that Roquebrun has to offer. It is spacious and cool, and provides lots of options for enjoying (or escaping) the sun. The large rear terrace has quiet private views up into the hills. The areas around the pool and beyond (into the garden) include more shady spots. At the front of the house, you can catch the last of the evening sun, and enjoy views of the village and all its activity.
The pool is the best we have enjoyed in any rental. The temperature is set at a very pleasant 26 degrees, and the quality cover is easy to use and secure.
The garage underneath the house is vast. Easily accessed from the road and swallows two cars.
The kitchen comes very well equipped and as keen cooks we were happy to discover lots of useful appliances.
We have rented for several summers in the Languedoc Roussillon, and this home is definitely a favourite. If you enjoy outdoors living, I can't recommend this property highly enough.
Easy spacious house to live in. Open plan. Secure pool. Good space with young children. Like living in countryside on back terrace and town on front terrace. Lovely walk to shop and cafe. Quick walk across road to river side with swimming and shallow play areas.
We had a really fantastic week in this big house in Roquebrun- The house was big enough for our party af 6 adults, 1 child and 2 babys, and has alle quipment needed for cooking.
The pool is good and plenty of chairs. We had som nice diner/ lunch at tha local restaurants - very recommendable. For bigger supermarket you must drive to Cessenon sur Orb 20 min. drive
Super good swimming in the river right by the house.
The owners and Home away representative are very helpful, and solved some minor issues, very quickly.
Can only reccomend this place
