We had an incredible visit at this magnificent property. Victor greeted us with such hospitality and we felt very welcomed in his beautiful home. The home was immaculately clean and it is nestled in such amazing surroundings. We traveled with our extended family with a group of 6 and there was plenty of room for all of us with private bathrooms as well as full views of the vineyards from each of the bedrooms. In fact, there is a total of 5 bedrooms so plenty of room for extended family. The pool was very relaxing and the outdoor spaces are fantastic with outdoor seating for meals and for enjoying wine by the pool. The beds were very comfortable and the home had a fully stocked kitchen. The location was remote but perfect to feel like you are immersed in the culture. Victor is great about providing things to do during the day and day trips. We took a day trip to Porto and one day trip to a winery, one day trip to a boat wine tour and we went hiking and exploring on our final day. If you are traveling with a group I would recommend a small car as the roads are narrow. We rented two small cars for a group of 6 and it was perfect. We have traveled extensively and this home is at the top of our list and we will definitely return to this beautiful location again!

Beautiful property with fruit trees and flowers, secluded and peaceful. Full of interesting art and sculptures, a great place to relax. Outdoor pool and patio with outdoor table were perfect. We really enjoyed our visit!

We loved the pool, the water was cool but you had to go in with the beautiful temperature outside and the lovely views. We spent many hours both day and night enjoying great conversation, views, and wine. Everything about this villa was outstanding, the views, the comfort, the decor. Victor was a fabulous, gracious host. If he makes any recommendations for your stay, they will be amazing, from restaurants, places to visit, tours. I wish we could have stayed longer as again, the views were breathtaking, the property and art work stunning, the people all so very kind and interactive. This is a place you would not forget easily and hope to come back to.

This was seriously one of our best experiences ever. Victor was the best host and communicated with us from the very beginning ensuring our stay was smooth and comfortable throughout. On arrival he even made sure we got our dinner from a local restaurant making a request for them to make food for us after they were closed for the day. He and Paula made sure we were well taken care of. Paula even brought fresh picked apples for us! The view is gorgeous and the place is unbelievable. Thanks for a lifetime of an experience, Victor. The home was lovely, spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and tastefully decorated. The views were outstanding. It was difficult to find restaurants nearby, and as the crow flies one was less than 2km away, but took nearly 30 minutes to drive. Next time (if I'm fortunate enough to rent this villa again), I would buy meats and vegetables (and wine of course) for a lovely dinner at the villa at least one night. I thought I read that the beds were all king-size, but now I don't see that information on the site(s). There are four air-conditioned bedrooms: four are queen-size and one appears to be a double (full). That was the only item I rated 4 stars, but perhaps it was my assumption (?) Victor, the owner and host, was the best - friendly, informative, and helpful.

Amazing stay in Duoro

Victor is an amazing host. Checkin and communication throughout our stay was very easy. The property is a gem. Very personal and decorated with beautiful art. Breathtaking Property in Douro Valley

Renting Victor’s place was not only a place to stay, but an amazing experience in itself. My family of 7 adults and 2 small children, ages 3 and 1, stayed here and couldn’t have had a better and more memorable experience.Victor went above and beyond to be accommodating. We had trouble at the airport and Victor made sure he was available for check-in. He set up with baby cot with his staff at a late hour. He also was generous enough to get some items we wondered about.We stayed here for my 40th birthday and it was extremely memorable. The property itself is an experience - my family chose to forgo a whole day in Portugal to simply take in the breath air, enjoy the views, explore the beautiful grounds, and swim in paradise.This place is classy, convenient, and very memorable. I highly recommend for anyone for a great experience.

A lovely stay above the clouds

Victor went above and beyond as our host. Before even checking into the house, he helped set up transportation, rental cars, and a restaurant reservation recommended by him. His house was absolutely beautiful, and he greeted us upon our arrival to show us around the property. Thanks to him, we also had a unique lunch experience at this tavern on our first full day in town. Would reccomend to anyone!

Victor welcomed us into his home and took us on a tour so we could familiarize ourselves. He also sent a document with a quick overview and important notes about the property and surrounding area. The house was great! Our group of 7 fit easily, with plenty of communal spaces. The property itself was also amazing. We were able to go on walks around the area and come back to sit and relax with a coffee or nectarine from the trees outside. Overall, great experience!

Amazing place

This contemporary-style villa is set high up in the Douro valley, with exceptional views over the river. The peace and quiet and the views provide a change of scenery. The villa is clean and welcoming, just like home. Victor's welcome and availability are exceptional in their kindness and simplicity, and he is always on hand with a smile to help you discover his magnificent region. Magical stay

We absolutely LOVED staying at Casa do Vale Cerdeiras. While the property is off the beaten path, it's exactly what we wanted. A little bit of Portugal rural flavor with the luxury amenities of a 5 star property, gorgeous views, en-suite bathrooms in each room, comfy beds and bedding and a self contained air conditioning unit in each bedroom. The house itself was very well stocked with loads of dishes, utensils, outdoor grill and a beautiful outdoor dining table where we enjoyed a beautiful sunset dinner. Victor, the host was welcoming and very lovely! He waited for us at the property when we arrived, showed us around and answered any questions we might have. A chilled bottle of wine was waiting for us in the refrigerator :-) The restaurants / wineries we visited were at least 20-25 minutes away, so you will need a car. However, each meal was delicious and the restaurant Victor recommend (Tasquinha do fumo) was a hidden gem. The house is a 10 min drive from the Mosteiro train stop and about an hour drive from the Arouca Geo park. Thanks so much for the memories - we will be back!

Stunning property with outstanding views

A beautiful renovation of an old existing hillside farmhouse into a combination of very modern and original features. Excellent accommodation with five en-suite bathrooms, a stunning lounge area and a chef's kitchen. Glass walls to the SE side of the accommodation to provide stunning views over the garden, hillsides and down to the Douro. Early morning fog bands make it very atmospheric. Highly recommended, but it is down the end of a long narrow lane. So travelling in a full-size car is a challenge for the unfamiliar! Excellent bakery in the village as well as a homely restaurant.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location

We had a lovely week at Victor’s property. Victor met us on arrival and showed us around the house and provided a lovely welcome with gifts of wine and some local delicacies. The house has amazing views over the river. The property is modern and very well designed and the outside areas all beautiful. It is also very well equipped with all you need.We had days by the pool and watched the sunset from the vine covered terrace with a drink in the evening, followed by fun games of pool at night! Porto is about an hours drive and very accessible. We had a day there and also went on a wine tour and had a day in the river (both from Victors recommendations) which were fantastic days out. This part of Portugal is lovely and I would certainly recommend this property to anyone.

Just returned from 3 weeks in Portugal and the highlight of our trip was the week my wife and I spent at Casa do Vale de Cerdeiras with our two adult daughters, their partners and a friend of the family. First let’s start with the detailed information Victor provided to us before we even got to the Casa and his responsiveness to any requests for additional information. That was followed by a warm welcome tour of the premises by our hosts Paula and Victor upon our arrival. And let me tell you that said premises are outstanding! They are spacious, immaculate, comfortable, well equipped, peaceful and with a panoramic view of the Douro valley that is simply extraordinary. In addition, we enjoyed Victor’s recommendations of a local restaurant, a winery visit and a home cooked meal by Chef Paula (the second Paula) that turned out to be quite an evening, only second to our dinner at Restaurante Cancela Velha in Marco de Canaveses where Victor and Paula joined us for an after dinner drink (or two, maybe three)… Overall, our stay at Casa do Vale de Cerdeiras was everything we hoped for and more. That includes the narrow, winding roads around the Casa which are indeed somewhat challenging for a North American driver, so I left most of the driving to my much younger sons in law who enjoyed it… On a final note, our sincere thanks to Paula and Victor for a memorable stay in their home and we hope to share a drink or two with them if they ever visit Ottawa or Montreal...

5 Star for Everything!!!

The house was beautiful,magical,homey and the views from the pool and pergola were absolutely breathtaking. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Especially for Paula our very talented and kind chef who came to cook for us on 2 occasions If I could give a 6 star I would as Victor the owner just couldn’t do enough for us. He was there when we needed him for restaurant recommendations, directions for the hiking path, cab bookings and kind enough to fix the coffee maker not once but twice without judgment of us not reading directions properly. Even though he lives on the property you never saw him unless we needed him. I can’t stress enough how wonderful this house is whether it’s for 10 people or just 4. We hope to go back again some day and share with our friends and family what we experienced.

A Stunning Retreat with Exceptional Hospitality

Our stay at Casa do Vale de Cerdeiras was absolutely wonderful. The property is a true gem, surrounded by lush fruit trees that provided us with fresh fruits each day—a delightful touch that added to our experience. The house itself is beautifully maintained and fully equipped with everything we needed. It's worth noting, however, that there are quite a few stairs, which might be a consideration for those with mobility issues. What truly set this experience apart was the exceptional hospitality provided by Victor, the owner. From the moment we arrived, Victor went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. He not only gave us thoughtful and personalized recommendations but also made sure we had access to unique local experiences that most visitors might miss. His attentive communication and the thorough walkthrough of the property made us feel incredibly well taken care of. Overall, this property offers a perfect blend of beauty, comfort, and outstanding service. Simply stunning ☀️

We do “villa with pool” holidays every year. Casa do Vale Cerdeiras has quite simply been the best one we have ever been to. The views are breathtaking, the house is beautifully furnished, well equipped, extremely clean and one you could stay for the duration of your holiday without ever wanting to leave it (which my 4 teenage children actually attempted to do). The pool was a fantastic temperature and very clean, the pool table was an incredible bonus, the outdoor seating area is massive and furnished with the most beautiful table which can easily sit 12 people. I sat there for many hours smelling the beautiful aromas from the herb garden whilst totally lost in the view. Victor was a kind and thoughtful host. He made sure that everything ran smoothly and introduced us to some hidden gems in the area that we definitely would never have found on our own. He was prompt in answering any of our communications and a really lovely guy. The local area has a butchers, bakers, ATM and two very small supermarkets. Larger supermarkets a 15 minute drive away in Baião and Cinfaes. Due to the number of indoor stairs and exterior ones, I wouldn’t recommend this villa to anyone with small children or mobility issues. Let me just finish by saying that if you stay here, please please please emerse yourself in the local culture. Everyone is incredibly friendly, the scenery is stunning, the food excellent and I guarantee you’ll leave (like we have) with having had a truly memorable holiday.

Très agréable séjour dans la vallée du Douro

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans cette villa. La maison est idéale pour le groupe de 9 personnes que nous étions. Les chambres sont spacieuses et disposent de nombreux rangements. La terrasse extérieure est parfaite pour le petit déjeuner et le dîner. La villa offre de magnifiques points de vue sur la vallée du Douro. Nous avons été très bien accueilli, notre hôte parlant bien français. Il nous a utilement conseillé des découvertes locales. L'entretien de la maison et de la piscine fût efficace et discret. Douro Dreams Come True

Rented this villa to celebrate a birthday with a group of friends. Absolutely perfect setup with 5 en suite bedrooms and roomy kitchen and living area for hanging out and watching the ever changing weather. Victor was a perfect host, always available when needed, and Paula made us a wonderful dinner which we enjoyed on the terrace at sunset. Gorgeous property. Highly recommend. We already are hoping to come back.

Ein wunderschöner Haus, dass mann am liebsten nicht mehr verlassen möchte

Wir waren 5 Freunde die das Haus für zwei Wochen gemietet haben. Jeder hatte sein eigenes Zimmer mit Bad, was wir sehr genossen haben. Alles ist toll und stilvoll eingerichtet und sehr gepflegt. In der Küche war alles vorhanden um wunderbare Gerichte zu kochen. Vor allem der Pool war ein Traum mit wunderbarem Blick auf den Duero. Es ist das Geld jederzeit Wert. Lieber Gruss Roberto
