Columbus Day Weekend
Very clean and well stocked house. The open plan and timbered walls were cool. Good size for 4 adults. Location by roadside was easy to find and quiet. Short car trip to Mount Stratton and Snow and Grout pond. Plenty of local info and maps.
We just absolutely LOVED the cabin. It’s sooo spacious, and gorgious! The open floorplan is very nice! The house is super comfortable, beds sleep like a baby, bathroom is great. Location is secluded, yet close enough to attractions or little towns. Just loved all of it!
Overall great stay
We stayed at this cabin for our 20th wedding anniversary, and this cabin was great. The location was easy to get to from the hikes we wanted to take and the towns that we visited. One thing that I missed when booking this was that the bedrooms are not fully enclosed. The house was very thoughtfully done and you can tell that a lot of love has gone into what I assume is a beautiful restoration of an older property. We cooked in the kitchen a couple of nights and everything that we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
Great spot with 1 setback
This property was perfect for what we were looking for with a few downfalls. First, the listing pictures show a wood stove in the foyer which is no longer there. It looks like owner recently replaced all the flooring (with the exception of the bathroom which has just ply wood down) and removed the wood stove. This didn’t bother me though because we had the outdoor fire pit to relax around the fire. The part that was annoying though was the back slider was not working properly. This door leads to the back porch and fire pit. I did take a picture but there isn’t anywhere to upload it. There isn’t a real door handle for the slider but a piece of wood crafted for the handle and it comes off the track easily. It was very hard to slide in general. And if you did get the slider open and not off the track once you were outside there was no handle to try and close the slider so the bugs wouldn’t get in the house. We ended up just leaving the door shut and using the front door and walking around the house to get to the fire pit. The only other suggestion is some new chairs would have been nice, one was cracked so you couldn’t lean back in it and also some sort of table would have been nice to put out food and drinks on. Other than that this was a great cabin in a very quiet area.
Great mountain/forest getaway spot
The cottage seems to have basically everything you'd need in a secluded setting. Basic accommodations in a rustic but renovated home... Easy to get to... Far enough from the hustle and bustle but reasonably close to things you'd need or things of interest as well.
Great woodsy getaway
Very accessible yet secluded; has most everything you'd need; kitchen has basically everything to cook with; bathroom is modern and plenty of space to stretch out and take it easy. Dog run/fence & dog door is super helpful for a furry travel companion. :-)
