Location was excellent! Even though we were in a "resort community" we had tons of privacy. Located right on the water with easy access. The cabin was very comfortable and very clean on the inside. The only complaints would be the stairs, porch and outside furniture was very dirty. I didn't mind sweeping up and cleaning the chairs and tables, but some folks may feel differently. This is not the best place to swim as itis very rocky, but we made it work. I would not recommend this property for families with children below the age of 6 or adults over the age of 60 due to the vast number of stairs and poor footing in the river. However, this place is hard to beat if you 7-59 and in good health. We would definitely consider coming back.
House is just as advertised, clean and set up for anything you may need. We enjoyed the view of the river and seeing so much wild life throughout the property.
Would book again anytime we are back in the area.
We had an amazing time staying at âFallen Leavesâ. Valerie was very responsive and made sure that we had everything that we needed. The front yard and the river access is wonderful. My boys caught fish, and played in the river everyday. It was so nice to sit outside and listen to the rushing waters. We also enjoyed the fireplace and fire pit. The pool table and other amenities were great as well. Our entire family had a great time and we have recommended this cabin to several of our friends.
What a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting! We enjoyed our very comfortable stay, and weren't lacking anything. We can highly recommend Valerie's riverfront home.
Stayed on the property the week of Thanksgiving. The sounds of the river was quite satisfyingly loud (serving as nature's own white noise machine). Hot tub was clean, internet was good. Property was in great condition. More stairs than I expected, but that's on me for not looking very closely at the photos.
Kitchen had a ton of appliances including an apple corer and was stocked well for us to cook a small Thanksgiving dinner.
The drive in was "long and windy" and did take about 15 minutes from entering the resort, so keep that in mind when you are planning your outings.
Lots of deer and squirrels, no bears.
Fireplace was nice, as was the master bathroom. Very cozy overall, defintely recommended.
Great location and wonderful cabin. Great for families to relax and have a great time. Many family games and outdoor activities. Beautiful outside view and place to do a campfire and gather around with family. Very clean cabin with many things inside. Grocery store and food places not super far from the cabin either. Would definitely recommend, loved it.
Great property! House was clean and very well stocked. Appliances all worked great and the bathrooms were some of the nicest we had in a rental. Yard was perfect for enjoying a little 2 hand touch football and we brought tubes and floated down the river. Kids loved the game room and being able to play in the rapids right in front of the house. I spent most of the weekend in a rocker on the porch reading and listening to the sound of the river. Communication with owners was great and they even recommended local events that were going on in town. We will be back for sure!
One of the standout features of this cabin was how well-stocked it was. The owners clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring that guests have everything they need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was equipped with high-quality cookware, utensils, and even some pantry staples like spices and oils, which made meal preparation a breeze.
In summary, our stay at this riverside cabin exceeded all expectations. With its thoughtful amenities, stunning location, and exceptional customer service, it is undoubtedly a place we would recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature. Whether youâre planning a family getaway or a romantic escape, this cabin offers everything you need for an unforgettable experience.
I live a little over an hour drive away but it felt as if I was far away. Beautiful scenery. The river was so peaceful. John was so helpful and easy to contact and responded very quickly.
We stayed here for Thanksgiving and it was wonderful! The fire pit and creek out back are the best place to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery! The cabin is cozy and well stocked with all you need - it has also been recently updated/renovated! Valerie is a wonderful host! She answered all my questions, and gave suggestions on restaurants and fun things to do in the area! So glad we found this beautiful spot to enjoy our holiday! Highly recommend!
A beautiful setting to unplug from our busy lives. The amenities offered were perfect for the diverse interests of our friends. The hot tub was my personal favorite. We left recharged for our busy life!!!!
Valerie was very prompt in responding and I really appreciated that. The property was clean and it is right next to the river so it was relaxing for my 80 yo MIL. Although we didn't catch anything, my kids learned to love fly fishing and spending time with their father. It was a great experience! Don't forget to bring your own fishing gear though!
We had a nice time in the cabin. I t was a lovely place. A little outdated though. On the other side our bed skunk in in the middle ,made it very uncomfortable to sleep. Some of the light fixtures were not working. Leaves were everywhere and it really did not look like housekeeping had been there. There was a dog that keep lurking around outside for most of the trip also.
John was very nice and answer all of my questions.
Over all it was a nice place. Look just like the pictures.
The drive through the entrance was tough as we came through the wrong entrance.
I would have definitely liked to have been told about the roads, as one we came up on had caved in.
The weather was not the best which meant we spent a lot along time at the cabin.
We bought food to cook on the grill but it was not in the best condition so we cooked inside. Definitely need a new grill.
There are several Cobb Webbâs and itâs quite dusty but other that clean.
Overall we enjoyed spending quality time.
It's falling apart Sitting in love seat went to recline and it was broke almost fell on floor fire place dosent work , phone number to cabin I is not correct , bees in house must have killed at least 100 if not more payed for a week left early
Fantastic Riverfront Property in the Mountains of GA
I came here with my spouse, sister and nephew so we could have a peaceful place to recover from post COVID PTSD - we had initially booked another property in Lake Lure, NC that fell through, and booked Fallen Leaves as a replacement. It must have been fate! This property was perfect and the most beautiful and peaceful riverfront property in the Blue Ridge mountains we have ever rented. At the riverfront, there is even a âbeach entryâ for easy access and chillaxing at the waters edge in the Adirondack chairs provided. Everything we needed was there, and if there are any needs or questions the property owners, Valerie and Lenny were very quick to respond. One last thing... we left the cabin only twice in one week to get necessities and then to go poke around the quaint Ellijay downtown area.
We are definitely rebooking our stay for next year at Fallen Leaves!
We had a party of nine stay at Fallen Leaves for my boyfriend's birthday, and the cabin was perfect for our group! The host was gracious and communicative leading up to our trip, and everything we needed - freshly made beds, towels, clean living spaces - was ready when we got there. The instructions for how to get to the house were especially helpful since the house is pretty far back in the community of which it is a part. The cabin itself had plenty of space for a group our size. The open dining and living area was lovely, and made a nice place to relax after we spent a day rafting on the Ocoee. The riverfront on the property is very pretty - we were looking forward to making a fire in the pit by the river, but the fireplace in the living room made a good substitute when rain preempted our original plan. The only downside to the cabin were the large ants that we frequently saw in the kitchen, but they were more of a nuisance than a real problem. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend Falling Leaves!
We enjoyed our stay at Fallen Leaves on the River. My two teenagers each brought a friend and the cabin provided more than enough space for us comfortably! The boys had their own space downstairs in the game room with the two double beds and half bath. And the girls were comfortable in their own room also with two double beds and full bath on the main floor. While my husband and I loved our private space upstairs with the king size bed, private bath and walk in closet. Each floor had its own deck overlooking the yard and river. The kids enjoyed being able to walk right into the river from the small sandbar while my husband was able to throw in a line a few yards away. It did a take a couple of days to memorize how to get through the neighborhood to the cabin with its multiple turns and curvy roads. And as someone mentioned before, once you get through the gate, it takes a full 10 minutes to get to the cabin. We would definitely recommend to our family and friends. And hope to return again ourselves!
The cabin is as advertised. Right on the river. We really enjoyed the river right in the backyard. Wish I had courage go rafting but I did not this time. The cabin itself was huge with plenty of sleeping space if a large party attended. The cabin itself could use a little tlc. Needs a good dusting, hammock, outside furniture and hot tub could be replaced. They were all outdated, dirty and very uninviting. The linens were not fresh....I also found a few of the clean dishes were not very clean. These things did not ruin my trip, but need to be addressed. Also...the tv in living room is wayyyy to small and the tv upstairs did not work at all. The property managers were very nice and especially responsive and that was much appreciated!! The neighbor was very nice as well....and you do not find that often.
This is the only cabin you need to consider ! Valerie is an amazing host and was very responsive to all my questions before we even booked the home. The cabin was just as pictured but even more breathtaking was the river. We are not much into the âriver lifeâ but after we arrived we could not get enough . Just hearing the sounds and watching the water flow through the rocks was amazing . We saw deer everywhere on the drive up and also across the river on the other side of the home we saw them during the early morning . The cabin itself was stocked with all the basic spices and even oil and Pam spray :) The bathrooms and showers were all stocked with shampoo/conditioner that my kids said was âluxuriousâ . The game room was perfect -we did not end up using the sleeper down there because it did get pretty chilly so a few of the kids stayed in the upstairs loft where there was a futon and there was also a spare twin mattress we dragged from the upstairs closet. We drove into downtown Ellijay (which only took about 20 min) for some coffee and pizza and we got to see different parts of the resort . All we can say is Book your vacation now!
We loved our stay here! First of all, it was the cleanest place weâve ever stayed at. It was stocked with everything we could need for cooking, extra blankets, pillows and the kids loved the game room! The owner was very accommodating in answering any questions we had. We saw deer immediately as we turned into the neighborhood. So cool! Beautiful drive up to the cabin. We brought some River tubes with us and my teens loved floating on the river. I canât comment on the resort amenities like the pool, because we didnât even go! We spent our time watching movies together, playing pool and games, playing and floating on the water. We did go out one day to Amicalola Falls State Park and hiked to the waterfall which was a lot of steps! We stopped at R & A orchards on the way back and got some delicious peaches to bring home. My husband and son did go out and do some off roading on a trail while my daughter and I stayed behind and relaxed at the cabin. I was little jealous that they saw a mama bear and a cub! I was able to relax on the top deck and read for hours and enjoy the nice weather while they were gone. We would definitely stay again! You donât even have to leave the cabin! Great relaxing vacation.
We just wanted to pass on some things we experienced during our stay.
First, we had problems accessing the community. The name given was not the one on file (per the attendant). Luckly I had printed the emails sent, and security used them to grant us access. Though a small problem, it was a frustrating way to start our vacation.
Second, the cabin was not immaculate. We had to sweep both the first and second story porches. We also had to clean the patio furniture before we could use them. We found cobwebs across the cabin in almost every room. We also found dust and other debris on the stairs. Around the fire pit we found garbage. The hot tub was also dirty and had sand in it. It required a quick clean before we could use it. We cleaned what we could to make our stay more enjoyable for us.
Third, the cabin was in various stages of disrepair, with holes in walls, the swing by the river was broken and we didn't want to use it because of this, the hot tub cover is to small and makes the hot tub run constantly. We also appreciated the instructions on how to get to the cabin and use its amenities, but would have liked to see instructions on what to do to close up the cabin at the end of our stay (I did email to ask).
Lastly, we did not really get what we expected. The pictures show a very clean, well organized, "move in ready" home (away). This is, perhaps, my problem and not their's. Yet, we must say we were somewhat disappointed with our experience.
If you love the water, love being outside and in the beautiful surrounding nature, this is the cabin for you. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the cabin, consider the above review.
Our family of 5 loves to spend our free weekends and holidays relaxing in our cabin away from the hustle and bustle of work and school life. The river was calling to us so we found this perfect piece of heaven where we love being able to escape and relax with our children.
The location of the cabin right on the river makes it the perfect property! You can hear the rushing sound of the river from the cabin. When we are there, you will find us relaxing on one of the three porch decks, walking along the private beach area, soaking in the hot tub, swinging on the swing or in the hammock and relaxing area around the firepit area. This is the perfect place to get away!
This property is not just a rental, it is our vacation home.... It is loved and taken care of because it is our own home as well. We welcome other families to come enjoy the peacefulness and beauty of our cabin when we can't be there.
You will have direct contact with us as the host, not a management company.
