Property was beautiful, the cabin was adorable and furnished with everything we needed. We loved the peace and quiet and the company of the owners dog Paris and London. No complaints and we will be back!
My husband and I were looking for a quiet anniversary getaway not too far from home and this was a perfect fit. Location was easy to find, quiet and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the greetings from the baby goats and Paris the dog. We drove over to the Warsaw Brewery for dinner which had terrific food and had breakfast the next morning at the âHamâ or Hamilton Family Diner which hit the spot. Wish we would have had more time to explore the hiking trails on site, enjoy the fire pit, or just play a board game. But to be without a to-do list or alarm clock was refreshing.
The treehouses would be super fun to do with another couple or two so you could all enjoy some evening time together, and still have your own spaces to sleep.
Thanks Bob! We hope to come back sometime!
We had a great night in the Ft.Henry cabin. It was beautiful, well supplied (fridge, microwave, coffe pot and grill) and a great place to disconnect (radio but no TV, which was perfect for us). We enjoyed our visit from the resident mascot dogs, Paris and London, who greated us on arrival and came up for a visit that night. The outdoor shower was warm, which I did not anticipate. We will definitely be back to check out the treehouses next time.
Cabin was as advertised with one exception. The space heater and wall heater did not keep the cabin warm. We were not prepared to be so cold while trying to enjoy the stay at the cabin. Also, people should know you have to walk a fair distance and climb a fairly steep hill pulling a wagon with your belongings in order to get to the cabin. Not recommended on a cold day with an icy walkway. We felt that this needs to be in the description so people can be prepared before they choose to rent this cabin. Deb Greene
Wonderful cabin but needs maintenance and general upkeep
The cabin was beautiful, however, the chimney needs cleaned. Could barely hold a fire in fireplace due to the flue being clogged and cabin smoked up. Was freezing all night and the heater in cabin barely worked. We blew a fuse at 4 am and had to go outside to reset. The whole back of the cabin was in process of being remodeled. Plywood and a 2x4 was holding the plywood up on the back. Cabin was NOT clean. Tons of dead bugs in every corner that were not swept and had to try to cut our own firewood (which said was provided). Two logs with a branch dull hand saw is not considered providing firewood! The property was NOT clean. This could be a beautiful place if it was maintained. Driving in with the look of the owners house hoarded up outside gave us an idea of how bad the weekend would be. We did not enjoy it at all and would never recommend staying at any of his cabins. The other renters had the same experiences we had last weekend. The wiring in the cabin was a mess, you could see all of the wires on the switches he installed. We did not use the shower due to the poor maintenance on the rest of the property. We will never be back!
Expect to see cobwebs and dust. Bed was clean. Wifi did not work, tap and shower only had hot water. Outdoor facilities were as expected. Beautiful woods and area.
Staying at Ten Acre Treehouse's "Ashburn" cabin in Nauvoo, IL, was a delightful experience with friends, especially with our well-behaved pet, Paris. The treehouse offers a unique, off-the-grid retreat nestled in a serene forest setting. We enjoyed the cozy living space, complete with a small kitchen and outdoor shower, which added to the adventure. The wrap-around deck provided stunning views of the surrounding woods, perfect for morning coffee or evening relaxation.
Bob, he is the property owner and he is very good person. He will also provide the required things before we check in to the property. Paris loved exploring the expansive grounds with us. It was a perfect blend of nature and comfort, making it an ideal getaway with friends.
Thank you âșïž
Bob, his goats, and pups were fantastic hosts. Very welcoming to outside pets. My dog didnât want to leave! I was well supplied with wood and water throughout my stay.
My Husband & I stayed here for our 17th Wedding Anniversary, & we loved it!! The cabin was very cozy, we arrived to music playing in the cabin which made it feel more welcoming! Loved the quiet peaceful atmosphere!! Would totally recommend if you are looking for a peaceful , relaxing getaway!!
My 16 year old son and I stayed in the log cabin for our annual Memorial Day weekend âcampingâ trip this weekend, and it was PERFECT! Bob has done a phenomenal job turning this log cabin (and the whole property!) into a rustic gem. Heâs even thought of extra special touches like country music playing in the cabin as we arrived. This Memorial Day will be a lasting memory. Thanks Bob!
We had a wonderful time at Ten Acre Tree Houses. We stayed in a 200 year old cabin and the atmosphere was perfect. It turned cold so we spent one whole day in front of the fire and forgot the world for a while. Bob was right there when we needed anything and he and his dogs are the perfect hosts. I highly recomend this place.
This Cabin is Amazing. Great to get away from all the City Life Hustle And Bustle. Outside fire pit for cooking and relaxing. Indoor fire place for snuggling on the Couch. Bucket Shower was great! We will be Back!
The property and surrounding area was very pretty, peaceful and fun for hiking and spending time in nature. We were excited to stay in the fort Henry Cabin and rough it a bit for a couple of days. The decor in the cabin was very accurate to feeling like we lived in pioneer times. We expected the outhouse and outdoor shower to be less than comfortable but the disappointment was in how dirty and dusty the cabin was inside. We appreciated the attention to details to making everything look old and rustic but it could have been clean and cleared of bugs, cobwebs, dust and musty smell. The small loft area was especially dusty and unappealing to sleep in. It didn't seem like the bedding had been changed in quite some time. And the furr laying on top of the headboard was so dusty and dirty, we had to turn our heads to sleep at the foot of the bed instead. It was also very difficult to cook for a family of 5 in a small grill on the porch. A traditional, regular sized bbq, as pictured on the listing would have been so much better. But it was not as expected. We had a great time and made the best of it by cleaning the place ourselves but its disappointing to pay for those expected basic hygienic components and not get it.
We'd jump into this stay after a sudden change of plans caused by Hurricane Ian. It turned out to be our favorite adventure on our travels to and along the Great River Road. We loved that being off the grid for awhile is really good medicine for busy scheduled city dwellers. That INCLUDES the absence of most indoor plumbing conveniences! We plan on making this a destination stay the next trip we plan heading southward again. Our gratitude goes out to Bob, for being a wonderful host.
And the dog, Paris, who made us feel like family. Thank you!
I wanted to celebrate Ryan turning 35 (almost!) before harvest started. We needed to stay close to home and wanted to disconnect. This was the perfect place to do both. We will be back for sure!
Wonderful stay at an awesome cabin!! Me and my family. (Wife, 1 yr old, and two dogs) we had a wonderful time getting away from the technology and spending time secluded and making family memories. The host was wonderful! Will definitely stay there again!
Bob's Frontier Cabin was an incredible experience. His property is wonderful with hiking trails, beautiful scenery, goats and two incredible dogs. The cabin was cozy and had a wonderful design touches that made you feel like you were on the frontier, but it also had just enough comforts (fridge, microwave, grill, sink and more) so that you weren't roughing it.
We stayed here in January and we can't wait to come back to experience it in the summer.
