Cette Lumière sur l'appartement Lac Beachcomber ouvre directement sur une partie de la plage la plus profonde, à environ 50 verges, dans toute la région Érié. L'appartement dispose d'un salon spacieux et d'une cuisine. L'appartement est au niveau inférieur de notre maison.

La terrasse donnant sur la plage dispose de sa propre table à manger avec des chaises longues. La propriété comprend un phare haut de 30 pieds (non disponible pour les clients). C'est une construction moderne mais pas à des fins de navigation.

Plusieurs concessions de bateaux de pêche charte sont à côté, à l'Est du Nord Marina. La marina comprend un restaurant, si personne ne veut cuisiner. Une cave est moins d'un mile de distance et d'autres sont facilement accessibles en voiture. Très routes planes permettent pour le vélo facile.

Overall not impressed. I will give credit where credit is due , the view is awesome. The downside is that there is dead fish everywhere and the smell is aweful. The beach is extremely rocky so definitely bring water shoes. The outside porch had spiders and cobwebs all over it. (Disgusting) The landscaping is overgrown and the decor is from 1970. Bring your VHS tapes because it does offer a vcr and a 20" tv. We left the house cleaner than we found it and a week later we were deducted funds because of not cleaning to their specifications. We had family over from Spain and the first question their 4 year old asked was "Do all beaches smell like dead fish and sewer water?" You get what you pay for . Very nice people.

Réponse du propriétaire: We are truly sorry that this family was unhappy with the accommodations. The occasional presence of dead fish or algae is a part of Lake Erie and many other lakes. It is not a predominant occurrence here by any means. Nonetheless, we wish they would have spoken to us about their dissatisfaction. We remove spider webs from the deck areas prior to guests' arrivals, but the spiders do come back, sometimes quickly. We limit our use of chemicals on the property, especially when guests are present. We provide an outside broom for the guests to use in cleaning the decks during their stay, rather than encroaching in their space outside their room windows to remove a recurring spider web. The guest apparently failed to note that TV system has both a videotape and DVD player, and that we have a limited number of DVDs and videotapes available. In this case, we withheld a small amount of the cleaning deposit because the oral and written cleaning instructions were simply not followed. We have dozens of guests in the apartment each year, and most seem very pleased.

Great Girls Weekend!

The apartment was clean when we arrived. There was ample space for myself and my girls to relax in or out. We enjoyed putting together a puzzle on a rainy afternoon, and watched a movie provided! Beds were comfy - I get cold feet so would suggest slippers as the main flooring is part concrete. Kitchen was fully loaded with everything we needed. Less packing makes for more room to pack shopping bags!!! Went on a fishing charter at North East Marina which is "right" next door! Walked back with our catch! Fire pit on the beach a relaxing spot to watch the sunset or just sit and watch the water and boats! Played cards on the tiered deck - really beautiful location. If you want the Marriott - go there. If you want to enjoy a vacation away from home with all the amenities and gracious hosts - This place is heaven.

Not Impressed

So we recently rented the apartment on lower level. We did not stay upstairs at the bed and breakfast. So this review is for people looking to rent the lower level and what to expect as I was not informed what exactly to expect. Lets just say you get what you pay for. The price was cheap so I wasn't expecting much. The view is gorgeous. and its quaint and quiet. Prepare to spend your last day cleaning everything down to washing the sheets if you want your cleaning fee back. If not then prepare to spend cleaning fee to not worry about it. The cleaning list is very detailed. Expect lots of spiders. I didn't see mice but there were mouse droppings and urine under kitchen sink and in master bedroom on the bed under sheet (yuck). Lots of cob webs in all corners. I counted 6 spiders in master bedroom closet. It is a basement so it's very damp and musky smelling. There are lots of rules you have to recycle 7 sort trash (not a bad thing) I'm not a smoker but one of the guests with us is and they couldn't even smoke outside on deck they had to walk to road or beach. And then there was even comments made about that. I am an ex smoker who personally can not stand the smell of smoke anymore but really saying it was gonna smell up the place cause they would bring the smell in on their clothes is a bit obnoxious. "Quiet time" is 11 (not a bad thing). I will not be back to this place nor recommend it. There is NOTHING to do in the area everything is like 30 min away. I was more worried with the rules than relaxed on my vacation. Mind you I'm not a party-er I brought my 6 month old son I just wanted to relax but I felt like I was being watched 24/7 This is also my first experience at a bed and breakfast so maybe this is how they are. I don't really know but I will not be doing this again. I didn't eat the breakfast so I really can not rate that.

Réponse du propriétaire: We're sorry that our guest was unhappy with some aspects of our apartment, but we still appreciate the feedback. We do try our best to assure that the apartment is cleaned appropriately before each new guest arrives. As our reviewing guest pointed out, it is a basement apartment, but that's not an excuse for anything. We intend that the apartment be as clean as one would expect of any living space. The fact is that lakefront properties can be humid and be attractive to spiders, but we do take measures to control and eradicate inside the apartment. The detailed instructions that the guest mentioned are for each guest's protection. Without detailed instructions, guests are either left to decide for themselves what to clean, or to pay a higher professional cleaning fee. The requirement for smoking locations is for the protection of guests in other parts of our property. Smoke from the lower level can rise through the deck flooring and enter other rooms or be a nuisance to others on the upper decks. We are not sure why the guest felt she was being watched "24/7". We don't have time to do that, and wouldn't if we did have the time. We suspect it is because we noticed someone smoking (once) where they shouldn't, and respectfully asked that they move to the beach. Frankly, we would do the same thing again if we noticed inappropriate smoking, and we think our guests appreciate our concern. We encourage guests to let us know (preferably while they are still here) about problems they may find. We will take steps to address their valid concerns. Again, we do appreciate the feedback, late though it be. We will try to do better for out part! We could say a lot about things to do in our neighborhood, but that would be a chamber of commerce speech. Summary: swimming in the lake; walking on the beach; evening beach fires; charter fishing next door in marina; miniature golf and regulation golf; wineries; small town shops, museums, and resturants. All within 5 miles of us.

The key deposit is returned when the key is returned. Renters are provided with a brief written list of items to be cleaned prior to departure. If a post departure inspection indicates those items have been cleaned, the cleaning deposit will be returned.

No credit cards. $100 deposit (cash or personal check) mailed to owners will hold the reservation. Balance of rent is due on arrival (by cash or personal check), as well as $50 refundable key deposit, and $100 refundable cleaning deposit. Key deposit is returned when the key is returned. The cleaning deposit will be refunded after departure when owner has had opportunity for inspection.
