An escape to rural bliss - the perfect getaway for walkers, cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts with stunning countryside to explore on and around the estate.. Located in a peaceful location, with stunning views over open countryside, this detached property is located on Barwhillanty Estate and makes an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding area. Barwhillanty, which has been family run since 1884, is a 5000-acre estate set in the beautiful Galloway Hills of Kirkcudbrightshire in south west Scotland. This 19th-century farmhouse has been renovated to an excellent standard and benefits from over 18 miles of picturesque walks on the estate â route maps are provided, and trout fishing is available on request. The surrounding area offers a tremendous amount to occupy guests: golf courses, sailing, horse riding, cycling (both road and mountain bikes as this is the famous 7Stanes country!), amongst many other adventurous activities. For those with young children there are also a number of great days out on the doorstep. If arts and culture are a passion, a quick glance at the surroundings will see exactly why the region has inspired so many artists, writers and craftsmen, from the artistâs town of Kirkcudbright, to the regionâs infamous Spring Fling festival, amongst many other events that take place all year round.
