Homelands is a charitable trust which provides accessible luxury self catering accommodation in 9 purpose built lodges (Massney, Cardy, Keil, Drummochy, Selkirk, Largo, Lundin, Durham and Emsdorf). The lodges are situated in the picturesque village of Lundin Links overlooking Lundin Links Golf course with open views to Edinburgh over the Firth of Forth.

Lundin Links sits just 12 miles from St Andrews, the home of golf, and a short distance from the East Neuk's rugged coastline and its character filled fishing villages such as Crail, Anstruther, and Pitenweem. Lower Largo and Lundin Links themselves are famed for their links to the original Robinson Crusoe (Alexander Selkirk) whose birthplace in Lower Largo is a short distance from the Lodge. The village features a bar, restaurant, sports club (including tennis courts) and a small parade of shops including pharmacy, butchers, bakers, post office, and general store all within a short distance of the lodges.

The region is famed for its outdoor sports/activities, water sports, history and fresh produce / sea food; served in many of the local restaurants which range from Michelin Starred to world famous and favoured by Royals fish and chips in Anstruther.

Further afield we are an hour from Edinburgh (Scotland's Capital City) and Dundee which houses the Discovery museum and V&A Dundee, Scotland’s first design museum

The lodges have been specifically designed with accessibility in mind and a wealth of features have been incorporated into the designs to ensure they are as accessible as possible, including specialist support equipment/ facilities such as ceiling tracking hoists, a full spacious wetroom, profiling beds, airflow mattress, Clos-o-Mat toilet (depending upon lodge) and riser/recliner chair. We can also provide a range of specialist equipment free of charge on request such as mobile hoists, various shower chairs, a shower trolley, and equipment for people who have a hearing loss. These specialist items must be booked in advance and are allocated on a first come first served basis. Excellent property

My husband is 81yrs old and has Parkinsons disease Going away for short breaks is problematic from the point of view of both accessability and comfort No such problems at Homelands Everything is designed to achieve comfort and ease for anyone with a disability or mobility issues The lodges are beautiful fitted out to the highest standards Spacious so that moving around in a wheelchair is easy the beds are comfortable with good quality bed linen and pillows kitchen very well equipped with everything you might need Large fridge/freezer and laundry room with washing machine and drier . Quite honestly it’s the best equipped holiday let I’ve ever been to ! The locations superb we had lovely views from the lounge area of the Forth estuary lovely secluded garden with ample comfortable furniture and flat accessible patio The staff were warm welcoming and helpful and local amenities near and accessable I cannot recommend highly enough and we will certainly be back next summer Thank you Homelands

Autumn Break in Lundin Links

Keil lodge was in an excellent location for us with easy access to both beach and golf course to watch events there. The lodge itself was clean, comfortable and provided everything we needed for our stay.The weather was perfect all week and we enjoyed a most memorable break. Thank you.

Much needed break

We brought my aunt and uncle here for a much needed break for them . Health wise they have both been through a lot in the last few years . Both have reduced mobility. Couldn’t have chosen a better place for them. Showering them was easy. Knowing the hoist was there if needed was great. We borrowed a wheelchair for the week . It was ready and waiting for us on arrival . They had a great week . Everyone we spoke to were so friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back .

First time staying

My wife took a stroke last year that has put her in care for life Finding this facility for disabled people had shown to her that life does go on she has enjoyed getting quality time back with her family and new grandson This has been massive for her mental health it has now shown her that life does go on in a good way and that we can take her out to lead a semblance of normal life once again The facility you have are first class from start to finish and I can assure you we will be visiting again in the future She loved every minute of her trip and felt at home once again On behalf of my family thank you so much Best regards Ian Cameron

Very well situated and quite

We found the Kiel to be very clean and tidy. The location is very quiet and you would not know that these buildings even existed from the road. The facilities are well laid out and very easy to access. With free Wi-Fi and a roku box keeping entertained is easy and with jigsaws etc in the room lots to do if you don’t want to go out. Local cafes and shops are within an easy drive along the coast. I would recommend these houses for a holiday

Holiday

Had a great time, the property had a good amount off items to support the disabled visitor, walk in wet room, profile bed, all on the ground floor total flat from car to inside to the patio. All properties have EV chargers on the outside as well another EV point near the office. I had to arrange a carer & nurses to visit while I was there which was no problem. Only think is the garden at the property is total open so pets have to be kept on lead. I think that I’ll be back some time.

Homelands Never Disappoints

We come to Homelands regularly and we are never disappointed. From the time of booking through to the time of leaving, the communication, support and attention to detail is excellent. The house is spacious and spotless with all the facilities we need for a home from home, which is why we come so regularly. Almost as important is the location - so much to see and do with beautiful country and seaside nearby. Would highly recommend a visit

Perfect for people with mobility issues

We had a wonderful holiday at this property. The property is overlooking the sea and a golf course not to mention the beautiful gardens. The inside is gorgeous and decorated to a high standard. The kitchen is fully equipped and on arrival we found coffee, sugar, fresh milk and a lovely cake. The bedrooms and bathrooms were really good for people with mobility issues. They had everything needed. It is in a lovely area of Fife with lots of lovely villages to visit a short drive away. We cannot fault this holiday.

A great place for adults with sigificant additional needs

Excellent accommodation that always meets our daughter's needs. Spacious with high quality fixtures fittings and all the adaptions we require. Beautiful location and still in excellent condition as we have been going to Homelands for at least 6/7 years

Feedback

Overall a very enjoyable stay in a great part of the world. We will definitely be back Customer Service - We felt that it would have been helpful to have more information on the services offered at the Paxton Centre eg Reiki and therapy classes. Negatives are; the recliner - although comfortable for able bodied guests was found to be lacking for my wife who has mobility issues, perhaps a better quality chair with better support could be sought ? A second handrail in the shower would also be helpful. Finally, a minor point but I found it slightly irritating that I was asked to strip the beds at the end of our stay bearing in mind I have full time care responsibilities, surely this is a bit of an imposition.

Lovely relaxing stay!

What a beautiful place! We really appreciated the thought that had gone into making this a great break for disabled and abled people. My husband wasn't too well during our stay so we didn't get out and about as much as we'd hoped but nevertheless, it was comfortable and quiet with beautiful views so we could not have found a better place to relax. The beds are amazing, so comfortable. My husband found the air mattress more comfortable than his bed at home! Lovely touches like cake, milk and good equipment such as cafetiere, steamer pans etc made it like home from home. My dog Molly loved her morning walks on the beach - so lovely down there and so handy to get to. We didn't have to go far to find somewhere to visit - the Blacketyside farm shop and Silverburn Park up the road are both wheelchair friendly and serve great food. The only slight downside we found was the TV in the bedroom - it's very small and a long way from the bed! I know the configuration of the room makes it difficult, and you don't go on holiday to watch TV, but people with health problems often spend time on bed rest and the TV is a bit of a lifeline. A more accessible TV would be much appreciated. All in all, we had a lovely break, really appreciated the beautiful accommodation, the thought that had gone into planning the site and the wonderful surroundings. We will be back!

Our favourite holiday place

We have been several times to stay at Homelands and it is our favourite place to come for a break. The team is helpful and friendly, the accommodation is comfortable and spacious and the equipment makes the holiday as straightforward as possible. The views are superb and there are plenty of places to visit even with a wheelchair. The weather is usually better than we have at home too!

Home from Homelands

We always have a great stay at Homelands which is why we return again and again. The accommodation is first class and provided everything we would have at home to meet my daughter’s needs. TOTAL RELAXATION

We loved our stay at Keil and felt well supported with the copious amount of information available to ease our stay. Lundin Links is a perfect location from which to explore the truly beautiful East Neuk of Fife and we made the best use of it with walks for me and the dogs and lunch with my partner. The house was set up to meet his needs perfectly. The house is equipped and furnished to the highest standard and the views out over the sea are outstanding. The cherry on the icing of the cake would be if the garden was more secure so the dogs could go out for a wander. We hope to come back before too long

A long awaited break

We have stayed at homelands many times before but this time more poignant due to the different needs of the supported individual we were accompanying compared to our last visit, Our thoughts and deliberations before booking were all unfounded due to the abundance of amenities, equipment, space and beauty of our accomodation, which in this instance was Keil, Thankyou, thankyou homelands trust for providing such beautiful amenable accommodation for in our case, individuals, who would not otherwise be able to access such beautiful accomodation and surroundings without what is provided, we will be booking again without any hesitations,

Fantastic

Homelands is a great place to stay. It caters for all disabilities. My daughter is severely disabled and everything was there that we needed. Loads of room to move about with a wheelchair. It was most definitely a stress free holiday. The view from the lodge was beautiful over looking the sea. The beach is great to take your dog over but it isint wheelchair accessible but further down in leven ( 5 min drive) there is a promenade to walk along and a beach cafe. Homelands is a great base to travel up the coast, Anstruther is a beautiful harbour village with great pubs, cafes, & fish n chips. Good free parking for disabled. Always wanted to go to Scotland and it didn't disapoint. Would love to go again. Please give Homelands a try it is an amazing place.
