A fabulous former Scottish steading, this handsome stone cottage is situated in a lovely village in the East Neuk of Fife. Sleeping six guests, and offering dog-friendly accommodation, the three-bedroom, Kingsbarns retreat makes a magnificent base for families or couples keen to be close to the coast. Situated less than 1 mile from the villageâs sandy beach, where there is a Wild Scottish Sauna to warm up in after braving the sea, it is also 3 miles from Crail, with its craggy banks, rock pools and scenic coves. Historic St Andrews, with its colourful shops, restaurants and exquisite architecture, as well as its celebrated university and golf course, is 6.5 miles away. Play golf at Kingsbarns too and visit the enchanting Cambo Gardens, 1 mile from your base. Those wishing to sample a little of the local tipple can enjoy a tour of the Kingsbarns Distillery, 1.5 miles away.
Let yourselves into the attractive house via the front door to find yourselves in the hall. Hang your jackets and slip off your walking boots here before making your way through to the inviting lounge/diner. Light the wood burner in this welcoming room on chilly days then bask in its cosy glow. Choose a DVD from the collection or sink back with the Smart TVâs remote control in your hand. This comfortable room is also the perfect place to gather for your delicious holiday meals. The kitchen next door has been fitted out with everything you are likely to require to whip up these feasts with the tasty Scottish ingredients you source on your excursions. One of your bedrooms, a twin with a window seat, is also downstairs, together with a WC. Your remaining bedrooms are up on the first floor of the cottage. These include a king-size, with an electrically adjustable bed, and another twin room. The family shower room is also at this level.
Spend sunny days out in the back garden, grilling fresh Scottish salmon on the BBQ and dining alfresco together at the table out here. Carry your first cup of coffee of the day out into the front garden on fine mornings. There is a private carport for one car, together with on-street parking, subject to availability.
