à propos de cet hébergement
Simone - Quatre Chambres Villa, Couchages 8
A home with golden sands a flip-flop away.
With its laid-back Mykonos vibe, 17m-long infinity pool and gentle sea breezes, Simone is a perfect home for those who wish to do nothing, whiling away the hours gazing out to sea, reclining in style, and contemplating the horizon. But with the gorgeous beach, restaurants and watersports facilities of Kalafati just a 250m-stroll away, it is also sure to satisfy those in search of a little action.
Inside: accommodation at Simone is divided into two distinct areas: a communal hub and a sleeping wing with four bedrooms on a lower level. A covered, secluded veranda with a wood and cane ceiling, connects the former to the latter, which is reached via a staircase. One of the bedrooms is accessed externally.
The communal hub is home to a generously proportioned open-plan space in the form of an L. Three tall picture windows gaze out to sea, a sitting area with a large sink-in corner sofa and a scattering of easy chairs offers plenty of space for lounging, and white wood-beamed ceilings combine with smooth grey-tiled floors to bring a touch of informal elegance. Towards the end of this space is a dining area and wide glass sliding doors opening out onto the main terrace. Finally, an opening allows the space to flow into the well-equipped contemporary kitchen with access to its shaded al fresco counterpart. The stylistic features, the quality of the finishings, the subtle contemporary lighting, and the laid-back vibe of this communal space is replicated throughout the property.
Back on the veranda, off which there is a shower room serving the main terrace and the pool area, a door opens onto a landing and an elegant stairwell with a large panoramic sea-view window above. Following the stairs down one comes to the main sleeping quarters, which comprise three bedrooms accessed from a long corridor with skylights:
âą first are a pair of doubles with luxuriously finished en-suite bathrooms with skylights and saloon-door walk-in showers (features common to all the bathrooms), and access to a shared sea-view terrace
âą the third is the main bedroom, a generously proportioned double with a long walk-through wardrobe, an en-suite shower room, a sitting area, sea views and access to a shaded section of the shared terrace
Accommodation at Simone is completed by another double bedroom, located next to the suite but accessed externally via a path and steps leading down through the gardens from the pool area. It too comes with its own en-suite shower room, sea views and access to the shared terrace.
Outside: oriented southeast and gazing out over the golden sands and electric blue waters of Kalafati beach, Simone's terraces and gardens offer all you could need for stylish al fresco living.
The communal hub flows out onto an extensive sweep of terrace, which incorporates the gorgeous cobalt-aquamarine infinity pool, a solarium with quality loungers, a trio of whispering olive trees, and a capacious, wood-framed, cane-topped pergola. This latter is home to a bar, curvaceous, well-cushioned built-in seating, a few easy chairs, and a stylish convivial dining area served by both the indoor and the outdoor kitchens.
The pool is bordered on one side by the moulded white walls of the stairwell, whose form evokes a Greek chapel. To the other the terrace opens out into the gardens, which fan out over the roof of the sleeping wing and around the property.
Planted with low-lying Mediterranean shrubs, grasses, flowers and cacti, the gardens are crisscrossed by a weave of paths, two of which lead to the fourth, independently accessed bedroom, and the shared sea-view terrace outside the bedrooms. Here, there is a shaded area with built-in cushioned seating, and, outside the first two bedrooms, a sun-kissed spot.
As with the interiors, subtle lighting has been installed throughout the gardens and terraces, and the effect, when these illuminations are switched on at dusk, is utterly enchanting.
Simone features a fantastic infinity pool, offering swimmers stunning views while in the pool. There is a drop off the infinity side so we recommend children are supervised at all times. Please refer to our general safety page if you would like more information about infinity pools.
Due to the nature of the property including terraces low walls and several drops around the grounds, children must be supervised at all times.
While the villa itself remains private, please note that the nearby beach, just steps from the property, can become lively and busier during July and August due to its prime location
Simone is located in the southeast of Mykonos, just 250m from the golden sands of Kalafati beach, one of Mykonos's most beautiful. There are three restaurants on Kalafati Bay and a watersports centre offering windsurfing lessons and equipment hire (as well as SUPS and kayaks).
Other beaches nearby include those of Agia Anna, Lia, Kalo Livadi, Agia Anna and Kalafati, all of which are within a 5- to 7-minute drive away. Between them, they offer some excellent seafront tavernas, beach clubs, and water sports and diving centres.
The nearest mini-markets, shops and other amenities are found in the charming historic village of Ano Mera. Just a 5-minute drive away, it is a pleasure to explore and has plenty of cafés and tavernas in which to people-watch, sip on a drink and dine.
Mykonos Town, with its vibrant, colourful and picturesque old centre is just 15 minutes away, and there's plenty to enjoy there, not least a great selection of tavernas, boutiques, cafés and bars.
Since it was âdiscoveredâ in the 1960s, Mykonos has become one of Greeceâs most famous and cosmopolitan islands and one of the hippest destinations in Europe. It is beloved of fashionistas, celebrities and party-goers, but also attracts discerning travellers in search of a harmonious ambience in which to relax, unwind and have fun.
The island is easily explorable in a week, and offers a vibrant beach life, a great many options for water sports, wonderful views, a fabulous variety of great restaurants, and a legendary party scene. With its many bays and coves, it is also a great destination for those who enjoy spending time messing about on boats, and we warmly recommend you rent one for a day or two to discover Mykonos's gorgeous coastline.
Just across the water is the sacred island of Delos, birthplace of Apollo and Artemis and one of the most important archaeological sites in Greece. Similarly close is the island of Tinos, so if island-hoppingâs your thing, there are plenty of adventures awaiting you.
