Crossing the river, the eastern part of Whitby features the 199 Steps and the ruins of Whitby Abbey. Heading south, you can spend an idyllic day at picturesque Robin Hood’s Bay (6 miles) or travel inland to explore the majestic North York Moors (train station within 400 metres).
