The contemporary first-floor apartment sleeps four guests and is ideally placed for a family or friends sharing. Crantockâs splendid expanse of sand is a firm family favourite for all ages, offering swimming (with seasonal lifeguards), surfing and hunting for seashells along the River Gannel, which runs onto the beach. Novices can learn the ropes at a beach surf school, and watersports kit is for hire. Drop into the historic village pub to tuck into home-cooked fare and indulge in tasty treats at the beach cafe. Take an exhilarating walk along the beautiful South West Coast Path, looking out for snoozing seals on the coves below, and see close-ups of exotic and Cornish marine life at the Blue Reef Aquarium in lively Newquay (3.5 miles),

Step inside to find a spacious, open-plan living space flooded with light from floor-to ceiling sliding doors opening on to a large balcony terrace. A pair of leather sofas and elegant dining area provide comfortable seating as you drink in the splendid, far-reaching sea views, while the impressive, streamlined kitchen has all the culinary aids you might need. Enjoy a good nightâs sleep in two sumptuous bedrooms: a king-size with an ensuite rainfall shower and a twin. A sleek family bathroom with a shower over the bath completes the layout.
Outside, the airy balcony terrace houses rattan furniture. This is a lovely spot to watch the sun go down across the sea as you enjoy drinks and al-fresco dining. Extensive, shared gardens below the apartments offer another relaxing retreat, with outdoor seating and picnic tables. There is private parking for one car.
