Tucked away down a quiet country lane, this beautifully renovated detached barn is the perfect spot for a relaxing group getaway for up to 12 people. It’s set in the charming parish of Pulverbatch, just 1 mile from a cosy pub serving excellent meals. The area is a haven for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers, with miles of beautiful trails and abundant birdlife. Discover the ruins of a former moated castle and soak up panoramic views from Cothercott Hill and The Devil’s Chair at Stiperstones Nature Reserve (8 miles). For a taste of local life, head to the picturesque market town of Church Stretton (10 miles), fondly known as ‘Little Switzerland’. Families will love Acton Scott Heritage Farm (14.5 miles), while history buffs will be keen to visit medieval Shrewsbury (10 miles), famous for its Tudor buildings, riverside walks along the Severn and bustling shops and restaurants.
The hub of this gorgeous home is the spectacular open-plan living area. Floor-to-ceiling gable-end windows provide stunning countryside views whether you’re sinking into the large corner sofa or perching at the breakfast bar with a glass of red. The stylish kitchen has cheerful orange accents and is fully equipped for a self-catering break. Cook up a feast to enjoy around the grand timber dining table before choosing a film to watch on the Smart TV. The warming wood burner in the corner creates a cosy ambience on cold and wet afternoons. You’ll also have a spacious games/yoga room (with underfloor heating) with a Smart TV, a Sonos speaker, table football, table tennis and beanbag chairs – fantastic for spreading out as a group. The ground floor hosts three stylish bedrooms – two zip-and-link super-king-sizes and a twin, – and a walk-in shower room with a heated towel rail and WC. Upstairs, you’ll find three more zip-and-link super-king-size rooms (all the super-king-size beds can be made into twins on request with two weeks' advance notice), one with its own en-suite shower room. The others share a contemporary bathroom with a shower over the bath and an additional shower room.
On sunny days, head to the private patio to catch up on reading in the fresh air, or sizzle up a BBQ for a shared feast. The peaceful green surroundings are a pure treat, and during the summer, guests can make use of the tables and chairs set up in the nearby field.
