Modern 1 bed retreat, stone’s throw from Hyde Park
THE APARTMENT
Imposing white pillars. Shiny black railings. And a few small steps leading up to a double front door. These form the grand, classic entrance to the large house that's home to the 1 bed apartment that's available to let in this popular location close to Hyde Park.
It's only a few steps from the entrance hall that's lit by a chandelier to your ground floor apartment's front door, the other side of which you'll discover a place that's fit for a solo corporate guest who is seeking somewhere sophisticated, smart and central to stay while working in London. It's also a great place for a couple to spend time together, knowing they're close to everything central London has to offer.
THE MAIN LIVING / DINING / KITCHEN AREA
Take a right turn after entering the apartment, and the door here leads into a multi-purpose space with a high ceiling and quality wooden flooring covered in classic rugs. It features a kitchen area in which you can make yourselves tasty snacks and meals whenever you fancy eating in. Pretty much all the appliances and cookware you're likely to need are here for you.
Next to the kitchen is a dining table at which you can sit and enjoy your culinary creations, after which it will no doubt be time to head over to the corner sofa. You'll enjoy an uninterrupted view of the apartment's flatscreen television wherever you sit, and you're sure to be tempted to look out through the room's large window at life going by on the street outside.
That table we mentioned earlier provides the perfect spot to sit and get some work done if you are visiting on business. Or perhaps you'd prefer to play cards or other games here?
THE BEDROOM
Across the other side of the hall from the living area is your bedroom, which plays host to a double bed set in the middle of a pleasant room that benefits from a large window and an equally large, mirrored wardrobe. There's no shortage of storage space in here, so hang your clothes and hide your bags away for the duration of your stay.
THE BATHROOM
In between the bedroom and the living room is the bathroom in which a suite has been recently updated to deliver the highest standards of comfort. Your bathtub has a shower above it, so you can take your pick when it comes to how you freshen up. Got time? Get the bath bombs out and relax awhile. In a hurry? Stand under the bracing shower head and freshen up in seconds. The space also has a WC of course, and a wash basin with storage space around and below the sink.
THE LOCAL AREA
It's just brisk walk from the north of Hyde Park across the Bayswater Road to Inverness Terrace. The presence of top quality hotels and some fine residences in the area will tell you all you need to know about the popularity of this part of West London.
The park gives you somewhere to take a morning stroll or jog if you're feeling particularly energetic. Kensington Palace and the Diana Memorial Playground are barely a few minutes' walk away.
Even closer to home, there's a selection of stores and eateries along Queensway which runs parallel with Inverness Terrace, and is home to a skating and tenpin bowling club that's well worth a visit. Follow the traffic north a while and you'll find yourself on Westbourne Grove, home to more boutique shops and classy eateries.
Head east along the Bayswater Road and before long you'll be at Marble Arch, home to a large cinema, and a gateway to Oxford Street, Mayfair and Bond Street beyond. There's certainly some premium shopping to be done in this part of town.
On another day of your stay, you're sure to want to try heading in the opposite direction, west along Bayswater Road, as taking this route will lead you to the equally famous Notting Hill.
This apartment truly is located in an ultra central part of town, and by staying here, you'll be in the heart of lively London, enjoying the comforts of an apartment situated down a quaint and often quiet side street.
GETTING AROUND
It's a close call, but Queensway London Underground station is probably slightly nearer the apartment than Bayswater tube station. Both are a few minutes' walk away, with the former being served by Central Line trains that travel the width of the capital from the East End to Ealing Broadway out west. Bayswater is served by Circle and District line trains, bringing places such as Paddington (for services to Heathrow Airport), Victoria (for trains to Gatwick Airport) and Tower Hill (for the Tower of London) all within direct and easy reach.
This area of town is well served by buses too, and cabs are often to be found plying their trade along Bayswater Road. But if you can, you're strongly advised to experience the relaxing beauty and vastness of Hyde Park and the adjacent Kensington Palace Gardens, such a picturesque spot for walks, runs, and cycling, with Hyde Park home to summer concerts and Winter Wonderland every year.
