Just a short drive away, Rothbury and the magnificent Cragside Estate, the first house in the world to be powered by hydroelectricity, provide further opportunities to explore Northumberlandâs heritage and natural beauty. The Northumberland Coast and Castles route offers even more historic gems, including the iconic Bamburgh Castle, perched dramatically above golden sands, and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne, accessible by a tidal causeway. The border country beyond provides wild, open spaces leading into Northumberlandâs Dark Sky Park, offering incredible stargazing opportunities and the chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights on a clear night. Whether youâre seeking history, adventure, or pure relaxation, this enchanting tower offers the perfect retreat to experience the best of Northumberland.
