The Retreat @ Solway House is located within the tiny hamlet of Rigg, 1 mile outside the famous village of Gretna Green.
Our semi rural location is only a 3 mile drive from the M6/and just off the A75, the perfect stop over to break up any car journey.
Our 1 bed Annex is nestled away in our garden and we provide parking on our driveway for 1 car.
Accessed via our garden and private entrance door the annex consists of a double bed, log burner, sofa area, shower room and kitchen/dining area.
The space
LOCATION INFORMATION:
The Annex, is a self contained extension of our home which is accessed via our garden. We do live here full time so you will likely see us around, feel free to say hello if you do! However we won't be offended if you prefer privacy and to keep to yourselves.
Our home is located in the small semi-rural hamlet of Rigg. PLEASE NOTE we have no local shops or amenities within a short walking distance. Our closest shop (Co-op) and Pub are located 1 mile away in Gretna.
Our semi rural location is only a 3 mile (7minute) drive from the M6/Train Station/Gretna Green and just off the A75, the perfect stop over to break up any car journey.
We are a short drive away from the famous Gretna Green Blacksmiths Shop and Designer Outlet Village. Gretna village also has a full range of good quality shops, cafes, pubs and takeaways only 1 mile away.
INFORMATION ABOUT OUR ANNEX:
The Annex consists of 1 double bed (standard U.K. double), sofa area, log burning stove, toilet W/C with a cold water sink, shower room with a hot water electric shower and kitchen/dining area.
The kitchen includes a sink with a hot water tap, washing machine, fridge freezer and an electric oven with an electric hob. The kitchen has a full range of crockery and cooking equipment. A microwave, kettle and toaster are also provided.
Located in our garden the Annex has its own private entrance and we provide parking for one car on our driveway.
PLEASE NOTE - we do have two small dogs Felix (the cavapoo) and Oscar (the Bichon cross). Our dogs will be out in the garden supervised by myself (Kelly) or Liam during your stay. They will probably want to say hello, so please let us know in advance if this could prove an issue for you.

The annex is a self contained extension of our family home. The annex is accessed via our garden and has its own private entrance door.
To access our annex you walk through our gates. under our covered carport and through the garden gate into our garden. Once in our garden you will see the annex in the back right corner. There is a stone path around the edge of our garden to the annex entrance door. The pathway is floodlit on an evening.
Guest have access to the full annex during their stay and are welcome to share with us the outside space should the Scottish weather permit it!
Other things to note
We provide off road parking for one car on our driveway, if you bring extra vehicles you are welcome to park on the road.
Are you booking The Annex @ Solway House to attend a wedding in the local area?
If so please note, Uber is not available in the area.
We recommend pre-booking a taxi should you require one.
