The view and location are amazing! Listening to the little creek was so relaxing, too bad it was too chilly and windy to sit outside and enjoy it much. Our host was easy to get in touch with, too!
This is a basic accommodation as indicated on the listing, It did the trick and was what I needed for this trip. Bed was comfy with plenty of covers. Bathroom is upstairs. Has a wood stove. I recommend bringing chopped wood to put in it. That would be nice. It has internet too!
We enjoy staying here. This is our third trip and stay at the cottage. Very convenient location and cozy. So peaceful by a creek and easy to get to. Thanks for continuing to have your cottage available and keeping the price reasonable.
Enjoyed listening to the creek and feeding the birds. Great windows to view birds. Loved taking dog to AMB brewery. We were only here for 2 nights. Enjoyed the interior of cabin/cottage. Bed was comfortable. Slept with windows open and the temperature was perfect.
Beautiful and quiet home very close to downtown boone. A perfect gem of a cottage with a nice little stream, a huge porch, and lots of birdwatching! Whether youre looking to see boone, or a quiet place to relax.. this is the place to stay!! 10/10
I loved staying at the cabin for the weekend. It was exactly as pictured, very clean and comfortable. I felt at home there which is rare for vacation booking. One the deck there is a babbling brook with a waterfall that is so peaceful. It is in a beautiful natural setting. I will stay again if the cabin is available when I return to that area.
This is a great rustic cabin that we enjoyed for a weekend. Not for anyone with mobility issues, as the bathroom is upstairs. We had no trouble and loved the large windows!
Wonderful cottage with great natural light and a convenient location. A word of warning: the bathroom is dated! But thatâs mountain living and the price couldnât be beat.
Will absolutely stay here again.
This is a spacious, comfortable cabin conveniently located between Blowing Rock & Boone. We appreciated the nice kitchen, the views out back into the woods, and the fact that there are plenty of lights so you can sit anywhere and have enough light to read by. We ended up spending more time indoors the we had planned due to rain, so it was especially nice to have the extra space.
The cabin was great for what we needed it for which was a place to rest in between hiking in the blue ridge. The cabin stayed cool in the evening and night. Owner has a few fans that are supplied to help cool you down after you adventure. Blue Ridge Parkway and Blowing Rock access are a quick drive. Would recommend to other adventurers and would stay again in the future.
2nd time we stayed here, This is a nice and affordable little cabin for two and a pet. Not to far from Boone and back road to Blowing Rock. It has all you really need to get buy on. Its not a 4 bed room mansion! Bathroom and bed room are on an upper loft, so you have to climb and nice little spiral stair case to get up there. But for people that don't care, Its great!! I would stay again in the future.
We spent a few snowy days in this adorable little house - tucked away in the drifts, but able to get to town on decent roads, and able to get to the cross country skiing and snowshoeing that made the trip so worthwhile. Sara was very helpful and accomodating. She provided birdseed, which attracted lots of delightful varieties, and she allowed us to leave a bit late in the day, which we so appreciated. We loved the eclectic little touches in the house - candles, hangings and knick knacks, and we adored the floor to ceiling windows in the sunny kitchen. The loft bedroom was cozy and comfortable.
The property is much older (appliances, the actual house) than it looks in photos, and although it isnât listed in the amenities, I was shocked to arrive to no air conditioning. It is misleading and it was so hot that it was unsafe for my dog to be there so we had to leave early. I think that being a pet friendly property, the owner should be much more up front that there is no air conditioning. Overall did not have a good stay.
Wifi was intermittent which was unsettling since I was there with only a girlfriend of mine and an infant. Had I been there with my husband under the same circumstances I would have felt safer. But I ended up leaving after the first night because of the issues with the internet and no cell service. I contacted the owner about it and a refund for the second night, but they said the cord wasnât plugged in completely and didnât refund the night. My infant was not mobile so however it happened, it was a mistake on the property owner.
The house was nice and it had a full kitchen which would have been convenient if we stayed. The location was perfect. Although the glass windows were nice during the day to bird watch, at night I felt invasive.
We enjoyed our stay. The location was convenient from Boone, though not so much from Blowing Rock. There was plenty of room in the cabin for our two person size. The deck near the creek definitely expanded our space, although the creek/ditch does stretch the definition of waterfront!Cabin was a little dusty, but homey. Plenty of towels and blankets, though the towels had a musty odor, especially the washcloths. (I was definitely put off by that when trying to wash my face) The tiny TV, used infrequently, was difficult to see from the couch. Kitchen was well stocked for two people, but the small coffee pot had to be filled twice each morning to satisfy our habit. The cabin was romantic and will be forever in my memory as I recall it was while staying there, and on top of a nearby mountain trail, that my future husband proposed to me!Overall, I would consider staying again.
What an awesome little cabin to stay for a few days! Perfect location between Boone and Blowing Rock - 10 minutes in either direction and you're in one of these great little mountain towns. Perfect retreat for 2 and a dog after a day of hiking and roaming cute little mountain towns, we had everything we needed...thanks Sarah, we had a great time, we'll definitely be back
I am a registered nurse and have a private practice in Healing Touch,Reiki and Craniosacral Therapy. I was a Rehab Nurse in the coal mines in 3 states. My first career was a social case worker. I also own a second hand business in Boone.I have two sons one in the Marine Corps and the other is a glass artist. My husband is a residential designer and a musician. I enjoy sharing this delightful cottage with my guests.
Blowing Rock and the High Country region is very beautiful. These are the oldest mountains in the world. There are lots of outdoor activities and friendly people. The cottage is centrally located near Boone and Blowing Rock.
It is great to hear the little creek that wraps around the cottage. Children enjoy playing in the creek. I am pet friendly. You can see lots of birds, chipmunk, deer, fox and raccoon from the cottage. It is cozy and relaxing and I try to be flexible with my guests and their needs.
