À propos de cet hébergement
Comfortable well equipped studio. Views to Pier, Loch Long, River Clyde & more.
The Old Post Office Blairmore.
We believe the location is ideal, in a lovely wee Scottish village on the Shore Road with a Victorian pier which is free to access.
Conveniently situated at the heart of the village, with views from the large front window to Loch Long and the Clyde Estuary, which is often busy with maritime traffic including submarines, merchant ships and cruise liners.
The village Post Office for almost 100 years, the property has been re-modelled as a studio apartment for couples or single travellers.
With the space designed to provide comfortable accommodation for a relaxing holiday, to the front of the property is the bright and airy living / sleeping area.
Furnished with 2 reclining swivel easy chairs, a wooden dining table & chairs, a wardrobe, a double bed with comfortable Silent Night mattress and quality Sanderson bedding.
Additionally there is a wall mounted Dimplex Optiflame fire, wall mounted 32" flat screen Smart TV, free Netflix, free unlimited WIFI, free scenic views!
To the rear of the property is the kitchen & shower room.
The kitchen has a sink, worktop space and ample cupboards. Electrical goods include ceramic hob with extractor fan, fan oven with grill, toaster, kettle, microwave oven, and dishwasher. The fridge / freezer is under the counter, with a smaller fridge section to give more freezer space than the usual small 'Icebox'.
The shower room has a double walk- in shower cubicle with sliding door, toilet, basin, heated towel rail and recess for storage.
Heating is via electric panel heaters, a heated towel rail, and the Optiflame fire. A pedestal fan is available if required.
Entry is via the front, with storm porch for storage of coats and footwear. The door from the kitchen opens into the internal passageway, suitable for safe storage of bikes or fishing rods for example. A door to the back yard gives access to the outbuildings which house the washing machine, tumble drier, airer, iron & ironing board. A washing line is available in the back yard.
A little more on Blairmore.
Blairmore is one of four ‘shore villages’ which hug The Holy Loch & Loch Long.
The pier is free to use, and is great for fishing or taking a stroll to view the ‘Arrochar Alps’, whilst looking out for porpoises & seals. In the summer the world’s last sea going paddle steamer the ‘Waverley’ calls to pick up passengers for a sail down the Loch.
On the edge of the village a local farm provides activities such as quad biking and archery. Also in the heart of the village, the family run ‘The Blairmore’ eatery serves hearty Scottish Breakfasts, quality meals with locally sourced produce as well as delicious coffee & homemade cakes. They also have a wee shop with quality gifts & some ‘deli’ gifts for foodies.
Lots of adventures into the hills, or level walks along the shore start right outside the front door. Within walking distance in the neighbouring village of Strone is a great pub, golf course & tea shop.
The village has an hourly bus service to the seaside town Dunoon, on the way passing local attractions such as Kilmun Arboretum, Kilmun Mausoleum, and Benmore Botanical Gardens. Dunoon is just a few miles away and has a swimming pool, fitness centre, museum, traditional High Street, & supermarkets.
Alongside the great views & services on hand, being located in Blairmore within Scotland first National Park means there is beauty, nature & wildlife in adundance as you explore the area.

Qui vous reçoit ?
Vous êtes reçu par Stephen Boyce

I love being a host and have been welcoming guests to The Old Post Office for over 10 years, many come back year after year, and for up to 4 weeks at a time. Hence the 5 star reviews on my previous listing site.I have been pleased to meet guests from abroad such the USA, Germany & India. In addition I have guests from across the UK oas well aseven nearby Glasgow who long for the open views & big skies.
Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?
What I like most about the area is that it has something for everyone.
The National Park for walking, cycling, water activities, mountains, Lochs, Rivers & nature in Abundance.
Argyll for castles, architecture, monuments & the sheer weight of history as the gateway to the Highlands.
Glasgow is within easy reach for museums, galleries, theatres, shopping & more history as ‘Second city of the British Empire’

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Very few properties can claim to have been the heart of the village & for 100 years to have provided postal, banking & telegraph services to the community. Literally every member of the community would have crossed the threshold to access vital services, or meet up for a natter.
