Villa Phyllia, a property with history - fifteen minutes from Iraklion airport.
The property and buildings on the hillside overlooking the Palace of Knossos make up the farm villa and known as Villa Phyllia, with a rich history that spans modern times back to the late nineteenth century and way beyond â land that was the location of the Sanctuary of Demeter -the goddess of earth fertility. Villa Phyllia is available for guests who appreciate the history and special atmosphere. Up to eight guests can be accommodated in simple but comfortable style. Villa Phyllia overlooks the palace; uniquely on a hill to the south, where a constant breeze refreshes even on the hottest days. Well-placed for walking trips that lead directly from the villa. It is set in a large olive grove with many places to sit and chill under shade.
Trash, dirty dishes in the sink, dirt and leaves on the floors upstairs and down, bugs inside the flimsy excuses for window screens dis nothing to haltâI could go on sadly. The place was absolutely filthy and the second half of the property was under construction. The location and the views are magnificent but cannot make up for a lack of cleanliness well below third world hostels and war zone barracks I have slept in. Will be a nice place to spend a holiday if completely gutted, and sanitized.
