Sur la plage et les pieds dans le sable, ce cottage se trouve dans la zone de Black Point, à deux pas de Lucayan Archipelago et à 2,3 km du site suivant : Plage d'Isacc Bay Beach.
Beautiful location, place is better than in the pictures. The views are breathtaking. Host picked us up from the airport and gave us a ride back, they also allowed us to stay past the checkout time until our flight. We rented a boat from them for a day to see all the local attractions and it was amazing.
This is the best place to stay in Black point, Ida the owner is such a wonderful person and also the people in this community is amazing, we love staying in this unit it has all you need to enjoy the outer islands
Unparalleled Private Cottage With Breathtaking Views
Ida and her son were incredibly welcoming hosts during our first stay on Black Point. We were greeted at the airstrip and graciously provided a tour of the property to acquaint ourselves. The views from the Seashell Cottage are absolutely stunning from sights of the ocean crashing over the reefs in front to the placid, near-private beach in back. If you want a golf cart to get around (highly recommend) or a boat tour, then Ida has you covered. It was the perfect getaway to experience the authentic charm of Black Point. We would love to return for another visit!
The cottage was great and right on a cove where we saw turtles, stingrays. Golfcart is worth every penny. Ida , Loretta and stick are amazing beautiful people! Everyone was friendly! This is a low speed calm place. Not super touristy which is what we were looking for. Would love to move there!! Canât say enough good stuff about Ida and her team. We really felt like family!
We decided last minute to get away and found this gem. We wanted no hustle and bustle. Just the perfect amount of amenities on the island (market, restaurants, rentals). Ida was amazingly helpful and was able to accommodate all of our rental needs. We rented a boat for 3 days and golf cart the entire time that she helped to arrange. Boat rental was key for us in order to explore all the Cays that we were surrounded by. Within minutes was Pig Beach, thunderball grotto, iguana beach, Exuma Land &Sea Park...and unlimited uninhabited cays. AMAZING!! The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean. Perect location and amazing views. Would absolutely stay here again.
My daughter and I had a very fun stay at the cottage. Ida and her son were very helpful from airport transfers to taking us out on the boat to swim with the pigs and nurse sharks. The boat tour with a stop at many places as well as the views from the deck were the highlights. WiFi was excellent. Only caution Iâd have for travelers is to bring a lot of grocery items unless you want to pay high rates for them since everything has to be brought in by boats. Town is very friendly and very safe. We didnât try any of the local restaurants on Black Point. The Staniel Cay Yacht Club was excellent for lunch though pricey. We stopped there to refuel the boat and grab lunch during the boat tours. We flew Titan Air from Nassau to Black Point and back. Propeller planes can be scary and of course not the same as Delta service but they get the job done. They were on time and very accommodating when we wanted to change our flight to fly back a day early.
Black Point was the best part of our vacation in the Bahamas
Ida was a perfect host who turned our vacation into a worry free stay in paradise. This island is off the beaten path and we took a Flamingo Air flight from Nassau to get there. Nearby Staniel Cay was nice when we had lunch there one day but not nearly the island vibe Black Point has.
Ida had met us at the âairportâ (more like an airstrip) on black point and took us to our cottage and made sure we had all we needed (including golf cart rental and boat/guide rental one of the days). This island is small and with limited eating selections but call ahead or âreservationsâ which is more like letting them know your coming for dinner. Everyone on the island was friendly and genuinely so. The cottage was clean and well air conditioned with decent WiFi and had a blender (get your rum in the duty free shop in Nassau). The beach on the east side of the island is an absolute must. Iâve never been to such a pristine white sand beach without a soul in sight. So glad we did this, best way to see the neighboring islands including pig beach. Our other stay in Nassauâs Atlantis was posh but was far too crowded and touristy for my likes. Black Point however is a gem - go before it gets commercialized.
We made our choice to come here after reading their amazing reviews. We were blown away and will certainly be coming back. Ida and her so Terren are amazing and make the entire process extremely easy. We flew from Fort Lauderdale vĂa Makers Air which have a ton of flights into Staniel Cay. Once you arrive at Staniel Cay , Terren will be waiting for you practically on the tarmac and itâs a really short 10 min boat ride to black point . The house is extremely clean and accommodating. All tvâs have a fire stick to log into nextflix or any other streaming app. The ACâs work really good. The town is very small, but a good cart is necessary. We rented the golf cart from ida for our stay. There are a few local really small grocery stores and a few local small local restaurants. The location of the house is the best part. Itâs is facing the most amazing beach Iâve ever seen and itâs just a few steps down from the house. There are beach chairs and large umbrella for the guest to use and Terren provided a small cooler that we used to take to the beach everyday. The beach is basically private as we didnât run into anyone our whole stay. A must do is the day trip with Terren that takes you to the 9 locations, swimming with the pigs , grottoes, iguana island, sunken plane snorkeling, etc. It was so amazing we chose to do it two days in a row. This island is very special and small. You wonât run into any other tourists, just locals who are extremely nice.
This is our third time traveling to Black Point and staying in Ida's cottages. We absolutely love this island. The people are so friendly. It's not commercialized at all but very tranquil. We will be back again and again!
Enjoyed our stay!!! Everyone on the island were super sweet! Weather was fantastic, Ida rocks and her cottage was very clean đ Also, food/ restaurants were excellent
Second stay in one of Ida's cottages. They are great. Well stocked, great size and location. Views are perfect. Hosts go out of their way to help in many ways. Blackpoint is just low stress and beautiful...the people, the surroundings, it is a very low stress environment.
Ida was amazing to me and my family. Black Point is a very relax island and everybody in town was very welcoming. We rented a boat from Ida and visited all the great spots. We had an amazing time!
Couldn't be better-- Ida and her family where amazing, helpful and informative! Cottages where perfectly located, the people on the island where very friendly and helpful. This is the perfect place for a getaway for relaxation , food, boating, snorkling and experience the untouched Bahamas
Ida is super nice she picked us up from airport took us to her beautiful cottage. Heaven on earth!! Best Hospitality! She was on point with timing and everything!! Hope to come back soon!! Love & Blessings!!
We absolutely loved our stay in the cottage and on black point! Ida is a wonderful host and Perry is an absolute must tour guide to the iguanas, pigs & sharks. Would definitely come again!
My family of three stayed for a week and loved everything. The beach and bay is amazing, and Ida organized a boat and captain for us one day that took us to see the Iguanas, Pigs, nurse sharks, Thunderball Grotto and a few other areas. We can not wait to visit again!
June 2018. This cottage is on a remote island; but, it is just a short 10-15 min. boat ride to Staniel Cay. If you want truly private beaches and down time this is the place for you. I was on this trip with my husband and 18 yr. old daughter. We rented a golf cart for our entire stay and is all you need to get around the island. There are only 3 named roads and some "paths" accessible by golf cart to private beaches. There are 4 restaurants and 4 very small grocery stores. We were able to get everything we needed there, although prices are high as everything has to be shipped to the island. We rented a boat and guide one day and paid attention, as we planned to rent just a boat another day. Cottages are clean and well kept, and if you have a problem, Ida will handle it. She was able to provide us with a marine radio and navigation charts the day we took the boat out alone. I loved learning about daily life on the island and everyone was welcoming and willing to share their stories. We never felt unsafe on the island.
If I could do it again the only thing I would change is 1. bringing our own snorkel gear or renting from Ida for our entire stay- we missed out on this our first day; 2. GoPro or waterproof camera is a must! 3. Visit the open "aquarium" at the national park - I learned of this too late to get there. 4. snorkel at the plane crash site 5. visit sandbars-this can only been done at low tide so we missed timing due to other activities.
Things we did do: swim with pigs, feed iguanas, swim with sharks, snorkel at Thunderball gratto, hangout on private beaches, kayak, collect shells & sand dollars, learn about island life.
