This property was absolutely amazing! The staff was over-the-top with their friendliness, hospitality, and service! A pool side plate of nachos was served with white linen service. We ate several dinners there and everyone in our family thought it was the best meal of our trip!! Portions were generous as well. Excursions arranged through the hotel were on point and competitive with other excursions booked elsewhere. The hotel itself was a piece of art with all the mahogany and wood finishes. Would book this place again in a heartbeat and would recommend it to anyone traveling to Belize.
We loved this place! It felt rural and hidden away, but was close to quite a few adventures and excursions so the location was great. It has a very charming, homey feel that no modern hotel can recreate! We stayed in the family suite with our family of 5, including three teenage girls. It really was a full family suite, consisting of two floors, plenty of beds, and separate bathrooms, which was so nice! The restaurant needs your orders ahead of time, which was very understandable since itâs small and rural, but they give you a heads up so you donât forget. The food, drinks and service was amazing! We only stayed 2 nights, but if I could plan my trip over again, we would have stayed longer!
Property was incredible staff and food were excellent as well, perfect place to stay and unwind. Floating in the river was refreshing and fun would stay again if in the area
The rooms and grounds are beautiful. The food and drinks leavie something to be desired.
The rooms, pool, and grounds are beautiful and clean. The food is terrible and expensive compared to other restaurants in San Ignacio, including the Running W at the San Ignacio hotel. The drinks are expensive and arenât worth the price tag. The road connecting the hotel to the main road is very rough with huge potholes.
It is a beautiful, secluded hotel, but I would not plan to eat or drink there.
Overall, we definitely enjoyed our stay and liked the room and property. The room is spacious and has a great bed. We had the family suite with two beds and a bathroom upstairs from the master with bathroom downstairs. The wifi was a bit spotty, but we were not needing it too much.
They have a couple of tubes you can borrow to float on the river right behind the property. Just walk upstream a bit, get in, and float the "rapids" back. Very fun.
There is an infinity pool which we enjoyed lounging in.
The property is a bit off the beaten path. The car got quite dusty after several trips back and forth on the rough dirt road.
We enjoyed our 4 night stay. The rooms where lovely and very clean. The beds were very confy which is important. We loved the special touches with the flowers in the rooms. There is no fridge in the rooms but they do provide a coffee maker plus coffee, tea, sugar and creamer. Also, there is drinking water in the hallways.
We had two dinners at the restaurant at Mahanogany Hall. The food was great and it was great having the option to eat there. There was a great deal of rain during our stay. It did not decrease our enjoyment of our stay or the area. We will stay again if we return to the area. The family suite is a great setup for faimiles. Love the staff they are wonderful!!!!
We wanted to visit different parts of Belize and this did not disappoint! In fact, we werent quite sure what to expect and were more than pleasantly surprised with the hotel, the amazing food, beautifully made drinks and the wonderful staff!! Mrs. Marsha is happy to help with planning excursions and pretty much any questions you have, Jose made masterpieces of frozen drinks for myself and my kiddos and was always ready with a towel or available to answer questions. All of the other members of the team were friendly and always happy to help or share a story! Even though the river was too high to enjoy a tube ride, we did the atv excusion and ATM caves with kids, amazing job by Edwin referred to by hotel, a pure gentleman and full of knowledge about Belize! We hope to one day return and are so thankful to have stumbled on tbis gem!!
We had a wonderful stay at the Mahogany Hall. They were so friendly and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. They made sure that we were able to eat before our tours in the morning and even prepared our dinner a little early on the day of our arrival because we had not eaten. Cant say enough, it was so wonderful.
We had a wonderful stay at this property. The room was very nice and clean. The location along the river made for a relaxing stay.
The bar are made excellent meals. The staff was extremely helpful in helping us plan a day trip for zip lining and cave tubing.
If we ever get the opportunity to return to Belize we will stay here again.
We loved the place. It was right on the river and the decor was beautiful. It was very peaceful and the people who checked us in and waited on us at the bar and for meals were all very friendly.
Mahogany Hall is such a beautiful place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
First, communication prior to and during our stay was excellent.
Location is good! Keep in mind, this property is off the beaten path. It takes about 10 minutes to drive from San Ignacio, and a short part of the drive is on unpaved road. But once you are there, it is gorgeous, right on the river. There are no restaurants and only a couple very small stores in Tree Bullet Falls. This location was a great base for area activities--we went to the ATM and Tikal--our tour guide for ATM picked us up right at Mahogany Hall.
We stayed in the family suite, which is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, absolutely beautiful, very clean, lovely view of the river. We had a great time tubing on the river (tubes are provided) to cool down in the afternoons.
While none of the meals are included in the price, we were very happy with the breakfasts, dinners, and drinks that we ordered--they have a flexible menu and the cooking was delightful.
The wifi at Mahogany Hall is not great, but hopefully you will be on vacation and that won't matter too much.
We would absolutely stay at Mahogany Hall again!
Absolutely wonderful time. The property was very clean and the location is great. The rooms were very spacious and you cant beat the view of the river. The staff goes above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. Would definitely stay again.
We enjoyed a great stay at Mohagany Hall. Our family had the suite which suited our needs perfectly. Our rooms were clean & well cared for. Jose, the evening bartender and server and Jeidy, the morning server were friendly and helpful. The location of this home is on the river with a pretty view and easy access to the water and a quick taxi ride in to town. Thanks for a great stay!
Thank you Marcia for helping us set up all our trips. Jose was a great bar host and Maria took care of all our meal service. We truly enjoyed our stay. Wonderful setting. San Ignacio is a great town. We visited some very nice restraunts. Cravings and a couple others recommended by the staff. The food at Mahogany was great as well.
The location of the property is excellent, right next to the river which you can swim and tube in...
The location of the property is excellent, right next to the river which you can swim and tube in. The food at Mahogony Hall was delicious, recommend eating there at least once. Thanks for a great stay at Mahogony Hall. The location was wonderful, being right next to the river was brilliant.
Our group of 6 (2 parents, 3 children ages 4-14, and Grandma) had a great stay at Mahogany Hall. The property itself is striking and very unusual, from the architecture to the riverside location. The rooms are beautifully furnished with great views.
The staff at the property are wonderful. Jose and Ian were attentive to us the entire time. We had the impression the staff at this remote location were all very nice people, giving the place an intimate and family feel overall.
We used the restaurant for dinner almost all nights we were there. The restaurant is very small and only served guests the entire time we were there. The private al fresco dining experience was a real treat. That said, San Ignacio has a surprisingly good selection of restaurants and we ate at Guava Limb our first night which was a great spot.
My kids really enjoyed swimming in the river right outside our door, including playing in the rapids with the tubes provided by the hotel. Local kids were in the river each afternoon and they taught my kids where to jump in the rapids to ride without a tube! It was a nice experience.
A word to US travelers who may be visitin a non-US location for the first time- the hotel is located down a bumpy street lined with homes of local Belizians. On approaching the place it could instill a little culture shock. But don't be worried- this beautiful place with its warm staff will charm you- guaranteed!
We arrive and Jose is there to meet you with his special cocktail to start your stay. You sit on the deck overlooking the Mopan river and rapids which we later ride on the tubes provided. An excellent adventure! The fully stocked bar with Belikin beer and an incredible cafe for the guests. First night we had lobster tails and chicken topped with a fresh mango sauce. It was like you were staying at your own personal resort. The staff was attentive and friendly and made you feel incredibly welcome. Spectacular stay. A short ride to the ATM caves and ruins. Both a must. The Cayo district is a must see.
