Eleven bedroom house in secluded glorious countryside
Located on the banks of the River Tilt and surrounded by steep hills, Forest Lodge is perfect for a weekâs escape and is an ideal base for stalking, fishing, walking, cycling, mountaineering or a special family celebration. Salmon fishing on Beat 4 of River Tilt, which flows by the lodge, is exclusively available to lodge guests. The lodge was renovated to the highest standard in 2021 and retains a loving loyal list of regular families that return every year. The lodge is accessible up a eight-mile private track that follows the river Tilt up from Blair Atholl. Forest Lodge has the capacity to sleep up to 20 people along with a spacious drawing room with a large bay window facing south down the glen and an open fire. There is a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room and a second sitting room.
Beautiful house accommodating several families in a stunning location
We really loved this house and its location. Whilst quite remote the setting and scenery were beautiful with loads of wonderful walks and great fishing. We loved the bathrooms which were all new and clean with bountiful hot water. Couldnât have been more perfect for a week away. We will definitely return.
We had a marvellous stay at this special place. The remote location provides a unique and peaceful retreat. We had a fantastic stay and look forward to returning.
Where to begin? Steph with the Estate Office was lovely to work with an ensured we were set up for a lovely stay, complete with crib and highchair for our toddler. We had a family gathering and enjoyed fishing, hiking, picnic and lovely meals. We all had the most wonderful stay and look forward to returning. The Lodge was very comfortable and very well equipped.
A wonderful place to stay for a gathering of family and friends.
We had a caterer providing meals for us so the kitchen was a very busy place. It would be useful to provide a drinks fridge outside of this space, perhaps tucked away in the back kitchen/utility or drying room.
Forest Lodge is down an 8 mile single track road so in winter conditions itâs best to get a 4x4. The Lodge itself has great facilities lovely bedrooms newly refurbished bathrooms. The drying room is a godsend for people who get up on the hill. It would be nice to have some stalking sticks for guests to borrow as lots of our visitors flew into Edinburgh so weâre unable to bring their own. This makes a big difference when ascending and descending.
Love this place. Have been coming to it over 30 years and although we loved it in its rougher state it is just stunning now. The bedrooms and bathrooms are so comfortable. The views are superb and the wildlife breathtaking at times. Brilliant walking, hiking, fishing etc. an outdoor persons paradise.
The relaxing accommodation is perfect for big groups, plenty of space to mill around. The refurbished kitchen with all the fridges and freezers means you hardly have to leave the place.
If you do leave there is lots to see and do in the area.
Hopefully we will be back.
We're a large group of friends who meet up each Easter in Scotland to enjoy the mountains and other outdoor activities. This year we chose Forest Lodge as one of two properties on the Atholl Estate.
The Lodge is very comfortable, well appointed, warm and cosy. The main living rooms and kitchen are all well equipped and we'd like to thank Lee for providing extra crockery etc. which allowed our complete group to eat together in the evenings.
The bedrooms, most of which have recently been refitted, are excellent. No shortage of hot water either, which is lovely when you've got a group returning from the hills all wanting a shower or bath at the same time!
We had a good week of weather but even on the dull days there was plenty for everyone, young and old, to do in the area.
We would thoroughly recommend this property!
We stayed with a group of ladies at Forest Lodge and really loved the place. Super nicely renovated bathrooms, great decorated bathrooms and a super kitchen where you can cook altogether! We loved to be surrounded by nature, and sitting in the evenings at the open fire! Viva Scotland!
