LOTUS villa is a luxurious newly built villa, with traditional elements, private entrance, pool and garden, available for LONG-TERM renting, too. No words can describe the unique healthy micro-climate and the pleasant atmosphere in villa LOTUS. It has 3 bedrooms that sleeps up to 8 persons. The first floor consists of 2 a/c bedrooms all with mosqito nets, the main bathroom and the veranda with pergola and glorious views of the North Cretan coast, the White Mountains and the sunset. The ground floor consists of the 3rd bedroom with mosqito nets, the 2nd bathroom, the spacious living room, the open kitchen with the dining area and all the amenities, the pool and the garden. The living room opens to the beautiful lawn garden with various trees, blossomed flowers and local herbs and the private pool with sunbeds, umbrellas, an outdoor dining area, an outdoor shower and the BBQ. There is a parking space for 2 cars in the plot and free parking in front of the property.

Perfect retreat

Lovely villa in a quiet location to the south of Prines. Tranquil views down to the coast and a great base for exploring or beaching. The photos do not do justice to the accommodation which was spacious and well equipped. Communication with the owner was good and minor niggles were dealt with promptly. Prines has three tavernas which all served traditional Cretan food within walking distance. Small village shop, pharmacy and butcher in the village, but supermarkets, bakery, etc within ten minutes' drive. You will definitely need a car in this location. Lovely local beaches nearby and easy access to the White Mountains for spectacular scenery and precipitous roads! Rethymno is lovely and also Chania old town. Knossos reachable in just over an hour. We were four adults and the villa suited us perfectly. Many thanks Thei and Kostis for a relaxing holiday.

Lovely villa, charming hostess

Lovely traditional style Cretan house, fully-equipped with pool, terrace, and views of the sea. Quiet and private, yet 15 minutes from Rethymno and two minutes from Prines village (by car). Thei was a friendly and gracious hostess; she provided detailed suggestions about places to visit and dine. We stayed 10 days in Prines, and hope to return!

Beautiful location beside lovely village

Great holiday for 6 adults. Villa spacious, clean and well equipped. It would benefit from air-conditioning in the downstairs bedroom and the beds are firm and a bit small for people over 6ft. Communications with the owner were excellent and the pool always clean and warm. Good restaurants within walking distance and an excellent site from which to tour.

Great holiday - very, very relaxing

Lovely villa in a very quiet and secluded location - with a car, easy to quickly get to all amenities and taxi into main town is very cheap for some great nights out.

Schönes Ferienhaus

Sehr komfortables und schönes Haus, ruhig gelegen mit zwei sehr guten Restaurants in der Nähe (ca. 300-500m). Schöner Pool und schöner Blick auf das Meer - hauptsächlich von der Dachterrasse. Die Vermietung Thei hat sich sehr bemüht, unseren Aufenthalt möglichst komfortabel zu machen. In jedem Fall zu empfehlen.

Excellent experience

I stayed in Lotus villa in August 2015 with my wife and our 3 children 8,14,16 years old. The owner of the villa, Thei, welcomed us with homemade pie, wine and "raki"" and gave us some very important information about interesting places to visit in the area as well as all over the island. The villa is much more beautiful than in the photos in Homeaway's site. It is very well equipped with everything you may need, very clean and the furniture is stylish and comfortable. Villa Lotus is located in the most pleasant area of the village with a spectacular view to the sea and the sunset. Within a walking distance you can find two nice taverns in the village of Prines, as well as the bus station, tmini market with everything from milk to fruits and wine and a very good butcher shop. Its location makes Lotus not only pleasant but also very convenient for families with children. But the element we can't forget yet, are the smells of the flowers, the calmness of the nature and the birds' singing early in the morning while my wife and I were enjoying the swimming pool. Our older children tried to take wind serf lessons, they were going to Rethymno by bus for window shopping. We really enjoyed life every moment of our stay. We felt absolutely safe and Thei, the owner, was advising us for everything. Νext time we will stay longer and we'll explore the gorges of the area. I would highly recommend villa Lotus to other travelers, we've already done it to our friends.

Peaceful Getaway

We were fortunate enough to stay for 6 peaceful days in this beautiful villa. It was very well equipped and the swimming pool was private and very well used during the hot days we spent there. All necessary amenities are near by, and the villa is in a very central location if you wish to explore the island. If not, relaxing by the pool and enjoying a quiet lunch on the balcony is highly recommended. It was a pleasure to deal with Thei, and her assistant Kostis was always available to help with anything we needed. We HIGHLY recommend staying here.

Ein kleines Paradis

Alles war wie im Bilderbuch. Obwohl wir im Winter verreist sind war der Pool und der tägliche Blick aufs Meer Balsam für die Seele. Im Dorf, in dem die Villa liegt, fühlte man sich in eine andere Zeit zurückversetzt. Eine Zeit, in der Hektik keine Rolle spielt. Auch die Gastfreundschaft der Einheimischen und der nette Umgang mit der Eigentümerin haben dazu beigetragen, dass wir uns sofort heimisch gefühlt haben. Durch die kretische Landhauseinrichtung fühlten wir uns den Menschen dort auch gleich zugehörig. Wenn wir nicht gerade gemütlich am Kamin saßen, bummelten wir in den Geschäften des nahe gelegenen Rethymnons oder machten Ausflüge in die tolle Umgebung. Zurück in der Villa erwartete uns ein sauberes und gemütliches zu Hause. Alles in allem mehr als zu empfehlen, schade, dass der Urlaub so schnell vorbei war.

A Warm Welcome in Prines

MY FAMILY AND I STAYED IN THIS LOVELY VILLA FOR A FORTNIGHT IN AUGUST 2011. THERE WAS AMPLE ROOM FOR 5 ADULTS AND 1 TEENAGER. LOTUS VILLA WAS WELL EQUIPPED AND VERY CLEAN.THE DELIGHTFUL SWIMMING POOL WAS VERY PRIVATE AND CAUGHT THE SUN FOR MOST OF THE DAY.. OUR EVENINGS WERE SPENT ON THE BALCONY ENJOYING THE GREAT VIEWS AND WONDERFUL STARRY SKIES. ROSE OUR MAID WAS LOVELY AND NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE FOR HER. THIS VILLA IS WELL PLACED AND FOR THE NIGHT LIFE IN RETHYMNON A SHORT TAXI RIDE AWAY. MOST OF THE SHOPPING CAN BE DONE WITH A 5 MINUTE DRIVE AWAY IN THE LOCAL FRIENDLY SUPERMARKET, BAKERY AND CAKE SHOP. IN THIS VILLAGE THERE'S ALSO AN EXCELLENT TAKE AWAY, BAR AND RESTAURANT. THEI THE OWNER OF LOTUS VILLA IS A WARM AND CHARMING LADY WHO SPEAKS EXCELLENT ENGLISH. WE HOPE TO RETURN SOME DAY SOON.

My name is Iason Papadrakakis.
I love this birthplace of my mother Thei (Lefkothea) and my grandparents. I love its special nature, the sea and the locals.
I'm keen of playing water polo, serfing, cycling, reading books, listening to rock and jazz music, watching movies, swimming, sailing, hiking, doing meditation, travelling, making new friends.
My brother Kimon and I own the ALOE and LOTUS villas through which we aim to share our deep love for the Rethymnon area with our guests.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

This area (Prines village) was the place of the family of my grandmother until she married the doctor of the prefecture (my grandpa) and mooved to another village of the area. During all my childhood I was coming for the holidays in this area and later, when I was working as a lawyer in Athens, I studied in the University for a while social anthropology and I had the chance to study a very interesting subject about the inhabitans of Crete. I love my Crete and I would like to share this love with my guests in LOTUS villa. Also, LOTUS villa is situated in the most beautiful and convenient place of Prines village, in a neighborhood with oak trees and nice houses. Our guests will enjoy walking in the area, jogging, cycling, having their lunch and dinner in the 3 very nice restaurants in the village or in the villages around LOTUS villa, bird-watching, swimming in the Cretan sea with sandy beach, snorkeling, shopping in the afternoon in the picturesque, historical Rethymno city , walking the long promenade near the sea, having unforgettable dinner in Old Harbor area in front of the old lighthouse or visiting the Fortezza Castle in the sunset, exploring the famous gorges of the area , visiting the very interesting paleontological museum, studying in the calmness of the pleasant library of the University of Crete ( 2.5 km from LOTUS villa-the way to the University is fantastic and working in it's sunny library is a pleasant experience), visiting the archaeological and historical places of the area (the ancient Minoan cemetery of Armeni-6 km from LOTUS) and the other innumerable activities in the nature. There is a supermarket in 300 m from LOTUS, 2 bigger supermarkets with everything you may need in 1000m from LOTUS, pharmacy in 400 m distance, petrol station and butcher shop in 200m from the villa. The beach is 2,5 km and Rethymno town in 5km (5' driving).

The location of LOTUS villa is ideal for families with children of all ages, for companions of friends, for retired people, for digital nomads. The guests can find everything they may need for their short or longterm staying in walking distance (nice restaurants, pharmacy, shops, cafe or in 5-6 min driving, hospital, the beaches, water sports, the picturesque city of Rethymno etc). The area is absolutely safe and the locals are friendly and very hospitable.
