Tranquil and inviting, Villa Trouli also commands a most impressive position offering all-encompassing views from virtually every corner of the property. Looking out from the poolside, terraces and balconies the remarkable vista extends across picturesque rolling countryside to the quaint village of Upper Stalos and a 270° swathe of meandering Cretan coastline lapped by glittering Mediterranean waters. On the opposite side of the property the famous soaring peaks of the Lefki Ori mountain range provide the most scenic of backdrops to a further selection of far-reaching rural views.
Stylish, light and warmly welcoming, Villa Trouli is truly(!) a home-from-home providing beautifully maintained and comfortably furnished accommodation that includes a well-equipped kitchen, spacious open plan living/dining area and three en-suite bedrooms distributed over two floors. Appealing and airy, each bedroom also has access to the exterior with the large terrace or balcony off the upstairs bedrooms presenting further perfect spots from which to admire those remarkable panoramas.
With an abundance of wildlife including birds of prey, owls and many beautiful butterflies regularly spotted in the vicinity, this stunning setting is ideally suited for those seeking gentle relaxation and natural beauty. Peppering the lawned grounds mature palms, bougainvillea and a selection of indigenous shrubs create inviting patches of shade as well as a delightfully soothing ambience in which to enjoy a sunset barbecue whilst revelling in the captivating views.
With an intriguing free-form shape (reminiscent of a grand piano when seen from above) the good size private swimming pool has a designated childrenâs section to one corner and is fringed by a spacious sun terrace.
The village of Upper Stalos (a 5 minute drive) has a handful of convivial tavernas serving traditional Greek delicacies or continue another 5 minutes further to the bustling coastal village of Stalos itself, home to beach of soft golden sand, a variety of popular tavernas, laid back beach bars, minimarkets and various local shops.
Many other stunning beaches can be found within a 15 minute drive plus the principal town of the area, Chania, with its beautifully preserved Venetian harbour can be reached in under half an hour. Make a date to take a wander through Chaniaâs labyrinthine backstreets lined with bazaars, bars and numerous interesting eateries before enjoying dinner by the waterâs edge or on a rooftop terrace.
