Our extended family really enjoyed our stay at the Manor House. It has a real wow factor as you approach up the driveway, and this continues inside the house and in the garden. We ate most of our meals in the very lovely garden, and the kids loved the paddling pool and running around the garden. The house is very extensive, but has a homely and comfortable feel at the same time. We needed to contact Jane several times and she was always very quick to respond. The housekeeper who lives locally was extremely helpful and friendly. Jane provided very helpful documents with directions to the house, and information about the local area. A document with information about the house would have saved us from needing to contact her with some of our questions (e.g. information re using the jacuzzi; rubbish and recycling instructions). Rubbish and recycling needs to be taken into the village, which was a little bit of an inconvenience - our large party generated quite a lot! The kitchen is of course old (and lovely and characterful) and does lack storage space. The only other minor lack was that some of the bathrooms didn't have bath mats, and hand towels weren't provided, but I'm sure if we had asked for these, they would have quickly been provided. Overall, we felt very comfortable and happy in the house, and we really enjoyed our outings: a visit to the D day museum on Utah Beach, a lovely walk in the local marshes at the Maison du Parc, and a day at Carteret beach.
