The cottage was beautiful and had a nice private patio while still have an outdoor shower for after the beach (with hot and cold water!). We were easily able to walk to first beach and be close to everything in Newport and Middletown and still have a quiet, lovely place to relax.
We enjoyed our visit, the location was great and nice and quiet. The portable / window AC units worked well in the sleeping areas, could use an additional unit for the living/dining areas.
Such a great spot for a small group of friends. Walkable distance to beach, breakfast and ice cream. A short uber/ drive from downtown Newport. Would definitely stay again!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at the cottage. My only suggestion is to check as the bathroom ceiling is starting to get some spots of mold like specsâ one of my children has some respiratory sensitivities but this could pose as a bigger problem to anyone with sensitive breathing. Or asthma. Also there were small ants that got in to some of our snacks but Iâm not familiar with the area so not sure if this is common in the north.
Our family of four had the best time staying here and making new memories. The home was stocked with everything we needed and was walking distance to restaurants, stores, the beach and excursions. The owners were very responsive and helpful and we felt very relaxed the entire trip. (note: we did bring our own baby gate to block off the spiral staircase - I would recommend this if you plan to bring infants/todders).
My husband and I celebrated our first anniversary in this sweet cottage. We loved the garden and the proximity to the beach! Would highly recommend :).
enjoyed this beautiful cottage, close to everything, wonderful outdoor shower and patio. Paul and Trish are amazing and provided everything we needed for a day at the beach and cooking at home
Wife and I needed a two week getaway, and this cottage near Newport was the perfect thing for us. The location was spot on with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, as was Easton Beach. The drive to Newport was about a mile. We toured the mansions, shopped in Newport, took a ferry to Block Island, a day trip to Providencetown on Cape Cod, and more. At night we sat outside on the patio and had cheese and wine and music. Laundry facilities on site was a plus. Owners were great.
Trisha and Paul's cottage was totally ideal for our weekend in Newport--lovely, quiet and comfortable inside and out, with amazing access to the beach and convenient parking. It was truly the perfect oasis as we came and went to Newport Folk and other activities. We'd love to come back for a longer visit!
great location for MDW. Cottage is clean and cozy. convenient location-walk to the beach, quick drive to newport downtown. owners are great and always available. small hiccup with check in time (vrbo says 3p but itâs really 4) but was able to check in at 3 as listed. hope to be back again!
It was a quick turn around for a wedding at the Atlantic Resort (1/2 mile away), but we enjoyed the quaint seaside restaurants, the cliff walk and walking around the old seaside neighborhoods. It is also adjacent to Newport and everything it offered. The house is cute, 2 bedrooms, but one up spiral staircase that looks down below, enough room for 4 of us, the only tough time was pre-wedding with the bathroom. All and all, it was a nice stay.
Perfect place for a cousins'' getaway. The cottage is charming, clean and in a great location - it was perfect. I had some reservations about 5 women sharing 1 bathroom, but it was never an issue (we loved the shower's great water pressure). We didn't cook because we were too busy walking, walking and more walking (the mansions, the Cliff Walk & the wharf). So much to do and so little time. The owners were professional and kind - easy to work with. We are already talking about planning on going back to this charming garden cottage.
I had the pleasure of vacationing at this spot last month with my wife, two kids and father in-law. It is set back and is surrounded by flower gardens and very nice landscaping. It is close to Eastons Beach and local attractions. Paul and Trisha a very nice people. They checked in on our first day to assure we had everythng we needed. We had a little problem with the internet connection. When we notified them and they got right on it and it was working within a couple of hours. My only regret is that we did not book two weeks! We plan to come back next year!
This is a wonderful place and location. Paul and Trish take a very active role to ensure that their guests have a superb vacation. They really go out of their way to create a fantastic experience. I would recommend this place to anyone.
My family and I spent a week in mid July and had a great time! The spiral stairs were not much of an incovenience, even with our two young girls. We did find the step from the entry area to the living area a bit of a hassle as we had a newly crawling 10 month old who had to learn to negotiate that step as she was crawling around. It was within easy walking distance to the beach and had some restaurants and convenience stores within a short walk as well. The gardens were gorgeous and you felt quite secluded having coffee on the patio. It is someplace we would definitely visit again, though this time we would be sure to request the air conditioning!!
We stayed the weekend of June 11-13.
It is a very convenient location to Newport (Ocean Walk is walking distance). The landscaping is awesome, you feel very secluded. The cottage itself was warm and inviting.
The owners were most accommodating. All in all I would whole heartedly recommend.

We bought this property of 4 cottages and a two family house in 1997. It was very rundown. We lived on the property and did most of the renovations and landscaping ourselves with lots of help from friends and family. We now live in the next town but continue to be very 'hands-on'. We have been doing vacation rentals for over 20 years and will do all we can to make sure you enjoy your time here. We are easily reached to solve any problems or answer questions for our guests.
Trisha grew up in the Newport area and Paul grew up near the coast in Madison, Connecticut. Shortly after getting married, we were thrilled to find a 'fixer-upper' so close to the ocean. We take great pride in having created a unique vacation spot for so many of our returning renters and look forward to meeting new renters every year.
Paul's gardens are what all our renters comment on and make our place special. When you walk through the gate, behind the hedge, the landscaping will charm you. Seashell paths, arbors, roses, hydrangeas, daisies, blueberry bushes and strawberries, covered decks, butterflies, birds and more create a serene and unforgettable place to relax and unwind.
