Summary: This lovely flat is the perfect getaway in Glasgow's southside - in the historic area of Cathcart. There is free on-street unreserved parking. Having been recently renovated, it is a perfect balance of Glasgow's authentic tenement past with the modern amenities expected from Airbnb. What's more is that you're only a hop skip and a jump away from the city centre and even closer to some of the nicest spots in Glasgow's sunny south-side. We look forward to hosting you on your work/leisure stay.
The Space: The main public room off the hallway has a sofa with TV and side tables and a kitchen area with breakfast bar. There is also a small dining table and 2 chairs. The bedroom has a comfortable double bed with crisp white bed linens and ample storage space for your belongings. Finally, a full bathroom with an electric shower over the bath.
Guest Access: Guests have access to the whole apartment.
The Neighborhood: Cathcart is a fantastic base for a Glasgow trip! Just a minute away from the flat is Holmlea park, a great spot for a walk or even a read when the sun decides to show itself. You're also only a short trip from the beloved south-side spot of Queen's Park and all the host of eateries, pubs and clubs surrounding it. A guaranteed great day (or night) out!
Getting Around: Getting around couldn't be simpler. Most of the best southside spots can be reached on foot. However the flat is also a short walk to Cathcart train station which offers links to the city centre in 17 mins or less. There are also First Bus links along the main road just outside the flat for adventures a little further afield.
Other Things to Note: No Parties No Smoking No Pets
This is around a 15/20 minute train or bus ride from city center. If you are looking for something more residential in a neighborhood, this is a good fit. Nice tidy flat.
This charming little flat was perfect for my needs when visiting family close by who were unable to accommodate me. It might be tight for 2 people, especially the living room/relax area as it is tiny, but for one it has everything. I had a small issue with getting the washing machine started, but was able to reset it after a quick google search. Being on the top floor with no elevator is typical for a flat of this type in Glasgow, but it might be an issue for some. The neighbourhood is safe and quiet at night. Cathcart station is a 4-5 minute walk away and the train takes 12-18 minutes to get into central Glasgow. I would recommend this property for someone who doesn't want to pay top dollar for central Glasgow, and doesn't mind a few minutes on the train to get there. I would hope to stay there again when visiting family.
