Stylish traditional cottage in the heart of Whisky country
At an elevation of 354m (1160 feet), on the snow road and on the fringe of the Cairngorm Mountains this cottage is well placed for exploring the malt whisky distilleries and the great outdoors. The wood burning stove and private enclosed garden make it a real home from home and it is a short walk to pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops. Sleeps 4 adults comfortably and there is space for an additional travel cot for infants. Central heating and double glazing with towels, linen and toiletries provided.
We spent a few days at this beautiful cottage. The cottage was fabulous, clean, had everything you could think of and is in a great location. Good local amenities and would highly recommend the cottage to anyone.
My husband and I stayed her for a few days on our 20th anniversary. It was just what we needed! The property, owner, and communication were perfect. We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend.
My wife and I stayed here for 3 days and we loved having a kitchen to prepare many of our meals in. Restaurants and the pub were a short walk away (oct is the end of the season for many store/business owners. The Whiskey Castle was closed but we were happy to step in the pub for some whiskey sampling there). We enjoyed building a fire in the wood stove and watching a movie on Netflix at the end of the evening after a full day of sightseeing and activities. Good place to stay for couples and for families.
We had the best time. My dad did NOT want to leave at all haha.
Thereâs everything we needed within walking distance and the host was so kind.
We had a little bit of issue finding the house, our gps would only pull up #9 on Main St not #8 so we had to use our heads a little more lol, but literally that was the only issue. If we could we would come back every year!
We loved the general area and the relative ease to get to places of interest in the Cairngorms, Speyside and on the coast. The cottage came as billed. It was relatively comfortable, although the furniture and beds are more serviceable than super comfortable. Not having the drying machine was a drawback. Tomintoul itself is small - few restaurants and only basic supplies at the Post Office. Again, that was billed in the information. Communicating with Alisa was straightforward. In all, the cottage was safe and clean but if you are looking for a spot with more services Tomintoul is probably not for you.
Komfortables, geschmackvolles HĂ€uschen in nettem Ort
Beautiful, tastefully decorated cottage in a charming village
Beautiful, tastefully decorated cottage in a charming village. Tomintoul is a lovely little town and ideally suited to explore the beautiful Cairngorms.
The property was very nice. It had everything we needed. It was a good base to visit St Andrewâs and the surrounding area. We enjoyed our visit very much!
This was the perfect location to start our Scotland tour! The cottage is done up to a superb standard, and was lovely and clean. Tomintoul is a quaint village, with some great walks through the gorgeous surrounding countryside direct from the doorstep. The adventure playground is also well worth a visit for those with kids!
Really lovely property, fully equipped with all we needed. Slight musty/damp smell in the bedrooms, but lots of air fresheners!!
The lounge is delightful with the exposed beams and log burner.
Slight confusion over the check out time - VRBO stated 11am but info in the cottage stated 10am.
