CHANTEPIERRE - COUNTRY HOUSE HOLIDAY RENTAL, IN CHATEAU LA VALLIERE
Beautifully presented house set in its own private one-acre garden with enclosed heated pool - stunning property in fabulous location
Nestling in over one acre of mature enclosed garden with a lovely private 10 x 5m heated pool, La Chantepierre - which translates as 'Singing Stones' - is a beautifully presented and extremely well furnished French longere (a traditional 'long house').
Set in a peaceful location in the department of Maine et Loire yet on the border of Indre-Loire in the heart of the Loire Valley, Chantepierre is 1km (15 minute walk) from the nearest shop and bar, and is within easy reach of the many vineyards and chateaux for which the region is famed. This fabulously spacious holiday home comfortably accommodates 8 people, (plus travel cot available on request) and because of its layout, is equally as welcoming for smaller groups. Wi fi available.
The accommodation comprises:
GROUND FLOOR
Reception room - relaxing space with sofa and coffee table. Off the reception room is a
Fabulous shower/wet room and WC
Large and well equipped kitchen with range cooker, large larder-fridge, dishwasher, and kitchen/dining table. Doors open onto the garden. A full size larder-style door leads to the utility/cloak room, featuring washing machine, second fridge, freezer, and utility cupboards.
Off the kitchen is the spacious open plan lounge and dining area.
The dining area features a large table capable of seating up to ten people.
The beautifully presented lounge area has two lovely large sofas. There is 40" Plasma satellite television with UK channels, DVD Player, and a CD Hi-fi system. There is an excellent collection of CDs and DVD films which are available for your enjoyment as are a range of books and board games. Doors open onto the garden from both the dining area and lounge.
From the dining and lounge area, a door leads into the ground floor guest suite featuring a King size bedroom with a recently refurbished en-suite shower and toilet. This room also features a large wardrobe and lounge area and has ample space for a cot. Double doors lead onto the garden.
From the guest suite master bedroom stairs take you up to a separate and private mezzanine floor which has a twin bedroom with two single beds and chest of drawers.
First Floor
Back in the 'main' part of the house, a staircase leading from the lounge area leads to the landing/mezzanine area which provides a relaxing reading or play area with a sofa, and a DVD for guests' enjoyment and Plasma screen.
Off the landing is a charming twin/double bedroom featuring a 4' double bed and a matching single bed. This is a very characterful beamed room with 3/4 door access and skylight windows.
To the other side of the landing, a corridor from the mezzanine area takes you to the large family bathroom with claw bath, French-style shower, bidet, wash basin and WC
At the end of this corridor/landing is the original large master bedroom with a king size bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers
A lot of thought has gone into equipping Chantepierre, and as well as an i-pod speaker system, there is a large collection of CDs, DVDs, books, and games that are available for guests use.
There is also a small games room with children's football table and air hockey. There is indoor/outdoor table tennis, and outside there is a 13' trampoline, swings, football net, and of course the lovely 10 x 5m heated pool with a patio and shaded gabezo area. The pool has been recently relined and is equipped with an electric cover and is surrounded by fencing for extra peace of mind.
There is also the use of some adult and child's bikes.
Chantepierre is fully enclosed and private, providing peace and tranquillity in a safe environment - yet just 1km from the village which offers a small shop, bar, and church.
ABOUT CHATEAU LA VALLIERE
Chantepierre is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, in a small hamlet within the traditional village of Meigne le Vicomte which, part of Maine et Loire closely borders Indre Loire - both being the regions most popular and sought after areas with chateaux and vineyards adorning the magnificent countryside.
A peaceful setting, yet within 1km of a traditional French village with a shop and bar, Chantepierre has the bustling market town of Noyant just 7km away, with the historic city of Saumur on the banks of the River Loire a 40 km (30 minutes) drive.
Within Chantepierre there is plenty to do. Outdoors is a boules pit, table tennis, swings, slides, a trampoline, basketball, and a football net; as well as a fabulous 10 x 5m heated private swimming pool.
Indoors is a small games room with a children's snooker table, air hockey table, and darts. There is a wide range of games, books, CDs and DVDs available for guests use.
The garden itself is blissfully quiet and is ideal for enjoying the peace and tranquillity that the property offers; while offering so much for children and families.
Cycling is a wonderful way to see the Loire Valley and there are a number of fabulous cycle rides taking you from the door of Chantepierre around some of the local villages. The relatively flat terrain and wonderful open roads/countryside lends as much to leisurely family cycle rides as it does to the more enthusiastic cyclist. We provide bikes for guests' use, which are free of charge. However, as we cannot guarantee the condition of these bikes, we do recommend that if cycling is big on your agenda to bring your own bikes.
Nearby there are water sports lakes, forests and an abundance of countryside to explore that is filled with wildlife.
There are a number of highly acclaimed golf courses too - including the amazing Sept de Tours just 20 minutes away, and the championship Golf de Bauge about 30 minutes away. Both are amongst the finest courses in France.
River activities including kayaking/canoeing can be arranged at Le Fleche and also in Saumur where there are also organised boating trips along the Loire.
