Broadstairs has been voted "THE BEST SEASIDE TOWN" in the South East to visit !

The cottage is within easy reach of several Blue Flag beaches, local shops, restaurants and wine bars. It is tucked away in an idyllic courtyard yet still close to all the amenities Broadstairs has to offer. The perfect bolthole for a wonderful holiday!

We are also very happy to accept dogs who i'm sure will enjoy the many lovely beach walks on your doorstep.

The cottage was built in 1640 & has the added attraction of ships timbers & beamed ceilings throughout & like the other Fishermen’s Cottages, as you enter you get the feeling of stepping back in time where the men made their living from fishing or smuggling.
This unique cottage offers 2 bedrooms, and can comfortably sleep 4 people.

The main bedroom has a king size bed and the second bedroom has a double bed.
You will also find a brand new fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and seating for 4 persons.

The lounge has faux leather sofas, a television with freeveiw and WI-FI is included.

The bathroom has a bath and shower which completes the accommodation.

Outside there is a courtyard garden with patio table and chairs. The garden is secure and child friendly, allowing you to sit back and enjoy the sunshine and have your breakfast or a glass of wine.

*All bed linen, bath and hand towels are provided.

There is also free parking on the Eastern Esplanade which again is only a couple of minutes' walk away.

There are seven golden sandy beaches to visit, these include Viking bay, Joss bay, Botany bay and there are smaller more secluded beaches if you prefer.

If you fancy a game of Golf on our famous golf courses, or a day out boat fishing, or even a trip to France for the day it is all here for you to sample.

Lovely cosy cottage

Lovely cottage in an ideal location , central to everything but tucked away in a lovely courtyard . Cottage had everything you could wish for , comfy bed , nice courtyard at the back, very cosy . Will definately be returning again .

A cottage with real character

Well placed in a quaint area of Broadstairs near the harbour and the beach. A small cottage but full of character. This is the second time we have rented it and have found Phil very helpful. We will definitely be booking it for 2018.

Exactly as advertised, very clean, comfortable and homely and in a superb position. Liaison with Phil the owner via website made our arrival very simple. Would certainly recommend.

Beautiful home - we've stayed in a few of Beverley and Phil's accommodations before, and they have all been clean, perfectly located and ideal for a group of friends on a weekend away. Beverley and Phil have always been communicative, very helpful and extremely flexible, which really has made life so much easier. We'll be back next year, for sure!

Beautiful seaside break

The location was ideal. The kids LOVED the arcades near by!! Having the cottage to return to, a short walk from viking bay, meant you didnt have to spend all day that the beach. Phil and Beverley were quick to answer any questions we had. Thank you for a lovely break.

Another enjoyable week at Barnaby's Lodge

Our third stay at Barnaby's Lodge for Broadstiars Folk Festival. The cottage is small but full of character in a quaint part of the town. If this is what you like then we highly reccommend it. If you want something modern with all-singing all-dancing facilities it may not be for you, but it does what it says on the tin so to speak. Good location close to the harbour and beach. Phil is always very helpful, we will certainly book again next year.

This is a beautiful old cottage and comes fully equipped with everything you need for a short break. Very clean and the bedding smelt lovely! Great location to explore Broadstairs and the surrounding area. Lovely pubs and restaurants near by. Would highly recommend.

Lovely cottage in a great location

We really enjoyed our stay at Barnaby's lodge. It had all the amenities we needed for a couple of nights stay. The location was superb as it was right in the heart of Broadstairs. Despite the central location we still found it to be quiet. The beds were also very comfortable!

Fantastic little cottage, perfectly located!

The owners were first class throughout. The cottage is charming and only a few yards from some great bars and restaurants and of course the wonderful beaches. The living areas and work surfaces were scrupulously clean.

posizione centrale

La casa era centralissima e la posizione comoda per fare la spesa nel centro e vicina alla spiaggia. Purtroppo non c'è la lavatrice e non c'è la doccia ma solo vasca da bagno e doccia da tenere in mano e nemmeno una tenda per evitare di allagare il pavimento. Inoltre solo due cucchiaini. Il padrone gentile e disponibile. Dovrebbe prestare più attenzione ai servizi essenziali.

Historical digs, take a delightful step back in time.

Arrived at Barnaby Lodge cottage and it was 0 degrees on opening the door our thoughts were, "This is going to be cold and draughty". Nope, wrong, very toasty warm within minutes of arriving. This place was amazing. If clean is a priority , this property ticks the box, everything was immaculate. Heating facilities made it very cosy, with fully equipped kitchen and everything you need for a more than comfortable stay. The character of the place was enthralling, immersing you in the Seaside surroundings of Broadstairs. There is no parking on the property which I thought was going to be a problem but the walk to the car was approx 3 mins and most enjoyable as it was on the beach front with stunning views and crashing waves. (Park on Rectory Road and walk down the foot ramp). Two minute walk to the High Street, so no need to drive, everything is within walking distance. I will have no hesitation in returning next year. An extremely peaceful and relaxing stay. Well done Phil.

We have managed " The Fishermen's Cottages" for 23 years now, which include Fagin's Den , Smugglers Cottage, Sandpipers Cottage, Pickwick's Place, Beach House and Bay Cottage and our new exciting holiday experience "Fagin's Den" which are also on VRBO website.

We have lived here most of my lives but have always been drawn back to beautiful Broadstairs because of it's charm and character that has not changed over the years.

We really enjoy making sure that all of our customers have a great stay, with 5 star customer care!

One of the great things about this unique flint cottage with it's beamed ceilings and a lovely warm homely feel, is that it is so close to all the amenities.
It just completes everything for having a lovely memorable time here in sunny Broadstairs.

You will be guaranteed a warm and friendly welcome whenever you come to Broadstairs. The town is steeped in history and charm and has been captivating visitors for generations.
Smuggler's Cottage is a fantastic base from which to explore everything the town and surrounding area has to offer.

Top location to explore the seven golden sandy beaches and visit the old town, which are all on your doorstep, how can you resist ?

Just park your car on the Eastern Esplanade for "free" and enjoy this wonderful old town and its surrounding areas.
