Hafan Dawel is a luxurious 17th century barn that has been meticulously renovated and offers high quality holiday accommodation in the beautiful coastal village of Penally, which is situated 1 mile southwest of Tenby.
The accommodation is spacious and characterful. There is an outdoor wood fired pool which is heated with a log burner. Please be aware due to this being wood fired there could potentially be small pieces of floating wood and ash within the pool. The garden area has a large picnic table . Children will love the large wooden play area including 3 swings, rock wall, bridge and firemanâs pole.
The space The stone built 17th century barn is full of character and quirkiness which has not been compromised during its extensive renovation . From its foot thick stone walls to its beams and stable doors it is one of a kind. The large open plan kitchen with range cooker and large acacia dining table and chairs is a great space for entertaining friends and family. The pretty lounge is a great place to relax with loved ones and in winter sitting round the log fire is a great way to end the day . There is plenty to do outside with the hot tub and extensive play area and there are plenty of beautiful places to visit close by.
Other things to note The hot tub needs to be heated upon arrival as for health and safety reasons we use fresh water for each guest. Please note this is a log burning hot tub and we provide logs which should cover your stay (depending on how much you use the hot tub) , if you run out of logs there is a local garage close to the property which has them for sale.
The park area is great for children and garden very nice outside of property needs a bit of maintenance but overall property was great bathrooms clean and towels and bedlinen very clean
We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Barn Conversion. On arrival the photo of the house makes it look bigger but there was still plenty of room to park our vehicles on the drive, a nice garden area and the childrenâs play equipment was great. The rooms of the house were all a great size and everything was there that we expected. The bathrooms were clean as were most of the living spaces. Unfortunately there was broken glass on the dining room table but we cleared that up. The house is in a lovely quiet location with an easy walk down to Penally beach and along to Tenby. If we had any improvements that could be made to the house we would suggest that the downstairs rooms and bathrooms could do with curtains/blinds as after dark it feels quite exposed, especially the bathrooms. Also the windows were very dirty and could do with a clean. There was also no logs supplied for the hot tub even though it specified a small amount would be.Other than those couple of improvements we did enjoy our time there and the host communication for check in etc was perfect.
1.Cleanliness: Unfortunately, the house did not meet the cleanliness standards we were expecting. It was very dusty, and the light fixtures were covered in cobwebs. The areas under the furniture appeared unclean, and the stairs, as well as the dining room table chairs were dirty and stained.2.Bathroom Taps: The taps in the en-suite bathroom is loos and the water drain very slowly, making it inconvenient for multiple users.3.Downstairs Bathroom: The floor of the downstairs bathroom remained wet, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout our stay.4.Outdoor Bins: We were surprised to find there were no dustbins provided outside for rubbish disposal, which made waste management during our stay quite inconvenient. 5. Hot tubâs fireplace was full of water which we drained because we would like it use but we did not because the fireplace was damaged inside so we were unable to use even we put plenty of wood inside.Having stayed in Tenby several times over the years, this was the first time we left feeling disappointed. Given the premium cost of the property, we had higher expectations for its upkeep and amenities.
Second wonderful stay at this lovely property with family.
Everything we needed, with lovely pub and grub across the road.
Lots of fun again in the log burning hot tub.
nothing not to like
What a lovely property, fantastic location, everything there for my family to enjoy. lots of fun with the hot tub, My son managed to regulate the fire for tub very well. The Paddock Inn was so convenient and the staff and food was lovely.
Would defiantly recommend this property . Thank you for the lovely welcome goodies. a lovely touch.
We thought the garden area was bigger and also was enclosed . It was not so we had safety issues with the children. We were disappointed that it was a wood burner hot tub . It took us all week to get it lit and then got too hot . Our inexperience but was quite difficult. But the layout inside the house was ideal for us . And we had a lovely break .
