We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The location is superb and the area is very peaceful and quiet. The cottage is also well equipped. Overall a perfect home from home.
We loved our stay here. The rooms were possibly smaller than we'd imagined....we only noticed this as mum has a wheeled zimmer so was a bit tricky to manoeuvre at times. It was really cosy and comfortable and Mel couldn't have done enough for us. It has been refurbished to a really high standard and the bed linen was soooo luxurious.
Would definitely recommend.
The Windram cottage was perfectly wonderful! Mel has thought of everything that might be needed, right down to the fresh bread, eggs and milk she had in the kitchen for us. The cottage is super clean, beds are very comfortable kitchen is well stocked with necessities and though we didn't use them the cabinet has a vast array of games, books and videos. The yard is beautiful with a couple of seating spots. Just a perfect spot to relax. Thanks souch Mel.
We really enjoyed our stay in Oxnam near Jedburgh . The cottage was comfortable , clean and well equiped ( very comfortable mattress) it is compact so ideal for 3 adults or two adults and 1 child. The garden is beautiful and all very peaceful. location is ideal for exploring the beautiful Borders . Walking parts of the Abbey way ie from jedburgh to Hawick or to Kelso are possible , Jedburgh Abbey is very impressive. Also when we arrived we were very kindly provided with bread , milk, eggs, pasta and sauce , which was much appreciated .
Thanks Susan, Danny, Mhairi and our Border Collie Jess.
We very much enjoyed our little stay in the cottage, what a beautiful little place to get away from everything. The cottage is very nicely decorated, with lots of garden space to sit around in the lovely sunshine. We booked with the purpose of visiting Beirhope Alpacas - which is very nearby and well worth a visit!
But we loved spending time in the cottage and going for some walks local to it. There is a lovely church nearby and we had a great walk in the sunshine through the woods and along the river.
Thank you for being a great host Mel, it was lovely to bump into you and we are already looking at thing to do in the area to have an excuse for another visit. Thank you!
This private and bijou rental is an absolute gem! In lovely rural setting, it is very cosy and enormous care has clearly been taken to think through every need a guest might have. Wherever you look there are thoughtful beautiful artistic touches.
The host is friendly, informative and very responsive to any questions.
The cottage is well situated to visit Bamburgh Castle and Holy Island (Lindisfarne). Within easy reach are shops and restaurants. The 'Taj Tandoori' provided the best Indian meal we have ever tasted! A must-visit if you like Indian food.
Whilst great for and couples (or very small family) it struck us what a perfect location this would be for a honeymoon couple. Stylish, comfortable, secluded.
It was a joy to share this little gem of a rental.
A warm and cosy cottage with lots of thoughtful touches, set in gloriously unspoilt surroundings. We arranged a stay at very short notice and Mel was extremely prompt in responding, supplying all the information we needed. We would highly recommend.
Beautiful small cottage, ideal for me and my husband. Very cosy and comfortable, and in a very peaceful and rural spot. Owner was very quick at replying to emails, and also came over to check everything was OK (which it was!). Thoughtful welcome pack of milk, bread, eggs and biscuits. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely re-book if visiting the area again and highly recommend it to other people visiting the Scottish Borders.
Windram Cottage was the perfect base for exploring a beautiful part if the world. Itâs comfortable and located in a wonderfully peaceful spot with easy access to fabulous countryside.
Beautiful property with amazing views. Stunning decorated interior and great location. Would 100% recommend. Thank you to the host for a great weekend x
