Thank you for your feedback. We take every guest experience seriously and appreciate the opportunity to respond. During your stay, the air conditioning did experience an unexpected outage. Service was requested immediately, but due to the unusually high volume of calls during that heatwave, the repair company was delayed. This was not a result of neglect, but rather circumstances outside of our control. We remained in communication with your group throughout your stay to keep you updated, and all concerns were addressed both during and after your visit. We understand that travel disruptions, whether with airlines or vacation rentals, can test patience. Some guests view these no-fault issues with understanding, while others feel inconvenienced despite our best efforts. We regret that this situation fell short of your expectations and caused frustration. As for the property itself, the home is professionally cleaned before each guest’s arrival. While preferences may vary, our team responded to your concerns and confirmed that the property condition met the standards reflected in our Vrbo listing.

Wow, we were taken aback by Molly response. Not only did we respond right away regarding refrigerator complaint, by offering a back-up refrigerator, we were also able to escalate service. She declined entry when the repairman arrived. I realize that a refrigeration, is very important, and as such, it was addressed right away, but because that was her only complaint, I think that Molly’s visceral response was both unwarranted and undeserved.

This group stayed at our Metro house during New York area’s heat wave of 2016, which happened to be the hottest stretch of weather in the area in 124 years. While we had three air-conditioning units in the home, they were not enough for such a large group (11 adults), given the extreme weather conditions. Despite the claim that one unit was not working, they all were working properly. Also, since their checkout, we have added a fourth air-conditioning unit so that future guests will not have a similar experience given another heat wave. Although the refrigerator was working both before this group checked in and after they checked out, it was later discovered that it did indeed have an intermittent problem, and has since been fixed. We have been renting our Metro house for many years and this is our first negative review. During this particular guest’s stay with us he was very difficult to work with, but was still issued the sincerest of apologizes, plus issued a sizeable, 50% refund for the inconveniences. Like with any home, unexpected issues arise. As a result, we cannot 100% guarantee a perfect stay for all of our customers. What we can guarantee, is that we will try to remediate any issue(s) our guests may encounter as soon as possible. In addition, given the circumstance, may reimburse some of the total cost – of which we did for this guest. We are always looking for ways to improve our homes so that, as many guests as possible, have the best stay at any of our Colbyco properties. When our guests are not happy, we are not happy. We apologize that the guest did not enjoy his stay at our home but take offense to his description of the furnishings of our home. We have only received compliments of the interior décor of Colbyco Metro. Maybe he likes newer furnishings, as Colbyco Metro has many antiques. Emin Colbyco
