We had a really relaxing time in Sheilaâs rental property. It is a beautiful renovated house in a stunning coastal part of Ireland. Our dog loved the large back garden. Itâs a perfect base camp for Atlantic coast walks.
The property was clean and the house was comfortably furnished. Loved the big back yard. The location was perfect for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way.
Sheila was a lovely hostess. We enjoyed our stay.
Thank you.
There are actually two apartments in the house, one is spacious and comfortable, three bedrooms, kitchen, living room, dish washer, washing machine ...
The second one is small and has no seperate kitchen, one bedroom downstairs that is rather dark and cold.
The hostess is very friendly and helpful.
Upon arrival the bedroom smelled of heating oil. We tried opening the window, but was simply too cold. We had to leave the property. We were only there a few hours. We contacted both the property manager and VRBO. We offered to pay for the 1st night and requested a refund for the rest. We contacted the property manager several times but never received a response. Neither helped us and we lost our money. It was a horrible experience:(
After a couple of weeks seeing the UK and Ireland with 9 of our kids and grandkids, we wanted a few days to rest. We loved being in the Sligo area and dining at the nearby Beach Bar. Downpatrick Head was great to see & we even drove to the Giantâs Causeway while we were in the area. Sheilaâs house was a nice place to rest and relax. We loved attending church in nearby Screen. A great ending to a great trip!
Me and my wife spent a wonderful
week in this lovely, spacious
house.( Date's from the 29aug to 5sep 2022 ) The decor, furniture
and fittings are top notch. It was an upside down house everything was immaculate.
It had spacious floor area in the living area up stair and a very large bedroom downstairs . It was dog friendly and had a large back garden for the dog to run around.
There was a patio area at the rear which came in handy because the weather for us was brilliant .the beach was
fantastic. It was just down the road we didn't have far to go.just a couple of minutes
Our Host Sheila McDermott couldn't have been more helpful. ThankYou Sheila
I WOULD DEFINITELY GO BACK
We stayed at one of Sheilaâs landmark properties, the 3 bed house at Aughris. What a well equipped, inviting house, with lovely views. It was a fabulous spot, weâd definitely stay again. It was an enchanting place.
We had a lovely stay here, we enjoyed the beautiful area, the house and facilities, and communication with the host was very easy.
The only issue I have is with VRBO, who think it is acceptable to add charges to a bill when you go to pay, with no reason given. To be honest I wouldn't deal with them again, pity.
The property is a perfect base for exploring Sligo and surrounding area. The host is great to deal with and the property is impeccably clean and walking distance to a great spot called The Beach Bar that serves up fantastic food and even better Guinness!! Highly recomend this property.
We had a really lovely time at this cosy property. It was great for kids too. The only issue we had was one night there was such a loud noise from the attic (heating I think?) that we could not sleep in the room with the 4 post bed. We mentioned it to Sheila and to be honest it was pretty much dismissed. Other than that it was a lovely stay

Very pleasant stay
Great location and comfortable spacious property. Sheila is a fantastic host who was keen to make our stay a pleasant one. Should we return to the area we will most certainly book to stay here again.
We are a family of 4, living on a working farm in Sligo. We have been happily involved in the Self Catering business since 2006 with our very popular Beach House in Aughris. In 2012 we bought and renovated another property The Snug in Dunkineely, South Donegal, for our own use and also as a Holiday Let. In 2017 we added The Landmark ( also in Aughris, 1km from Beach House) to our Holiday Let offerings. This has three separate units ( 3bed and this 1bed Upside Down House, and Cosy Cottage), All of these are advertised on this site.
All of our properties are in wonderful locations on the Wild Atlantic Way.
We bought this house and undertook a large rennovation project in 2016/2017 because of both its location and character. We are in the business since 2016 and know that is really all about location and this spot is simply unbeatable as the reviews from previous guests will attest to. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty. The location is truly a walkers paradise. Many of our guests are families that bring their pets and spend their days on the many sandy beaches around. Aughris is ideally located for people wanting to explore the North West of Ireland. Some guests do day trips, maybe Donegal one day, Achill the next with some R&R in between. Others spent their time walking, fishing, surfing or golfing in the different hotspots around (Enniscrone, Strandhill, Rosses Point).
As well as the location, this house just oozes charm . Apart from the wonderful location, the kitchen cum living room is spacious and bright with wonderful views. The bedroom is especially spacious. The house is just 15 minutes walk to 2 miles of sandy beaches. A 10 minute walk takes you to the very popular Beach Bar so you don't have to worry about transport. The Restaurant at the Beach Bar is open at weekends and nightly in High Season and is very popular with our guests. The pub is open all year around with entertainment in high season. This is an authentic old-world thatched pub and we are very fortunate to have such a popular establishment so close to our Holiday Lets.
