The house is wonderful. Amazing sea views particularly with setting sun. Beautifully furnished with every form of technology available. Perfect base for walking and golf.
Rushy Glen was a wonderful place for us to relax and enjoy our family holiday. The house is luxurious and feels very special. It exceeded our expectations. The photos don't do quite do it justice. It's also in a fantastic location. Nice garden and patio, short walk to the beach surrounded by open countryside. But easy to get out to local attractions. We couldn't have asked for more. So good that I expect we'll want to return in future years!
My son and I stayed at Rushy Glen for 2 weeks in late August and early September. The property is ideally located for golfers, cyclists, beach enthusiasts and hikers. Turnberry gold is 10 minutes away to the south and Troon golf 25 minutes north. There are countless courses in between. For cyclists, the âAyrshire Alpsâ are a 15 minute drive â some of the best road cycling in the UK. The secluded beach which stretches for miles sits a 5-8 minute walk down the hill from the house. The Coastal Trail Route is all around Ayrshire and runs close near the beach.
The house itself is beautifully decorated and has all the modern conveniences, including a gourmet kitchen. There are multiple large TVs and a great theatre room in the lower level.
The house is very private. It sits surrounded by well maintained farm fields. The house has wrap around outdoor decks where you can soak in the views of the sea and mountains. The sunsets are unspeakably beautiful.
The city Ayr is a 15 minute drive and has a great choice of restaurants and markets with lots of local produce. We had groceries delivered to the house.
Donna, the homeowner, grew up in the area and is great for all sorts of local advice. If we had any questions, a quick email or text and we had an answer almost immediatelyâ very responsive.
Ancestral links to the area led me to buying 2 old workers cottages, demolishing them and building my dream house. I use it as a holiday home. I live in Surrey/ Berks and travel up frequently.
I have travelled the world. The more I travel, the more I appreciate the authentic and wild beauty of the Ayrshire Coast. The allure of home doesnât diminish - it grows. Some of the best sunsets in the world. Friendly and rich in culture. It is the perfect environment in which to decompress, and to enjoy all that south West Scotland has to offer.
The views , the views, the views. The wildlife and the beach. Golf !! Every window frames a stunning view. Close proximity to some fabulous restaurants and ideally located to explore further afield. Gallow Forest, Glasgow, Dumfries House are all readily accessible. Culzean and Turnberry are practically on the doorstep.
