Stayed in the ocean view family villa. Villa was very clean, well furnished and well maintained -serviced daily. Pool is a great as beach is not sandy but is secluded. Great location - Turangi Eatery at the end of the driveway, Vili’s Burger Joint and small grocery store/petrol station just up the road. Short drive to Muri Night markets and the Muri lagoon.

Pool was clean, safe and inviting. There were pool toys available and the poolside loungers were great. The room was clean, appropriately furnished and had great indoor- outdoor flow. The initial breakfast and local bananas and mango were a nice touch. Michelle and Svein were great hosts. They were friendly and helpful. When my wife had a fall at night they were able to provide a great first aid kit, support and advice on local health care options for which we were very grateful. Couldn’t recommend Passage Villas highly enough.

A Dream!

Beautiful beach houses directly on the east coast of Rarotonga. Very clean. Comfortably furnished. The hosts fulfill all wishes, very attentive and helpful. We had a rental car and were anywhere on the island within 25 minutes. We can highly recommend Passage Villas. Thank you Michele and Svein for letting us be your guests.

This is the place to stay if you want an authentic Rarotongan experience while still being close to Muri and snorkelling areas. Seeing whales every day was an unexpected highlight! Our hosts were incredible- knowledgeable and always helpful. Would highly recommend.

Was right on the beach, you can see the sun rise every morning. The best part was how lovely the hosts were. They really made us feel welcome and did everything they could to make us comfortable. Such a wonderful couple.

We loved staying at Passage Villas, very close to town and the owners were beautiful hosts. Stunning views on the beach. Would recommend getting a unit on the beach, however the family unit we were in was also comfortable. My 3yr old son loved it there. They also serviced the room everyday where we would spend the day out and return to a nice clean place with fresh towels. Amazing ❤️

Great view from our room, private being upstairs also. Lovely hosts, very helpful. However for the price, one would assume that wifi would be in the room and toiletries supplied! Note the beach out front is also not swimable, on shore waves!! Recommend if you’re after a private stay near Muri Beach (3-5 min drive) though.

What an experience. Spent 5 days relaxing, listening to the waves and watching the whales from our villa Michele & Svein are incredible hosts, felt like staying with family. They gave us lots of recommendations and let us in on a local secret involving pastries... Exactly what my girlfriend and I needed as we didn't plan anything and turned our phones off for the duration of the trip Highly recommend and will be staying there next time in Raro

Svien and Michelle were absolutely lovely, and have the property to match. The villas were well maintained and in a spectacular location right by the water. Would never get tired of waking up to that view. The room was very comfortable, and had both a fan and a heat pump for those hot days/nights. The hosts were very friendly and made some great recommendations of places to go and things to do. Could not recommend this place enough. They really had all the bases covered with a relaxing pool and even had a bar onsite for people to use. A

Michele and Svein were wonderful hosts, welcoming us after hours and setting us up for a lovely few nights' stay. Svien was always on hand to help in any way. The property isn't on a sandy beach; it is on a wild coastline, which was perfect for our kids - so no beach swimming, but the pool is large (one of the larger ones from our experience in Rarotonga). The room was good for a family. It is very old and tired, but they are in the process of renovating. The villas provide a good base to sleep and then go exploring the island for the day/s. The highlight of the stay was Svien picking a Coconut and opening it for the kids - they loved it!! Thank you

Lovely spot, great views and it felt very homely. The beach isn't swimmable really but we got to see whales at one point, and it was super close to swimmable Muri beach. The villa was tidied and refreshed each day and they gave us great advise for places to go to eat and activities. The only problem we had was the office was never attended and when I tried calling them I couldn't get through. Perhaps a doorbell would be helpful as I didn't want to go up to there house and disturb their privacy. Again, lovely hosts when they were available, they gave us snorkeling gear to borrow too. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful 11 night stay. The view from the villas was wonderful and sitting on the front deck one morning we had the wonderful experience of seeing whales right out from our accommodation. We were told about all the local events and places of interest by our hosts even down to the local bakery that makes the best croissants. With happy hour once or twice a week it gave us a good chance to meet other visitors staying at this small 8 villa accommodation. We stayed in two different ocean view villas during our stay, 5 & 6 nights and both had their really good points. We would recommend this accommodation, only one thing against it is that you can’t swim right outside your villa but you are only a short distance from the beautiful lagoon. You WILL ENJOY this accommodation.

We would like to take the time to thank Michele and Svein for their hospitality and allowing us to spend such a magical time at the Passage Villas. We would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Rarotonga. Checkin was smooth, in fact, the owners were kind and flexible enough to let us know once the room was ready as we were on an early flight. The serenity and view the property gave was immaculate; you had the beautiful view all to yourself and surrounding was so quiet that we were truly able to relax and forget about our busy lives during our stay! The owners were also kind enough to let us know when a whale was passing by, it was amazing to be able to see this up close from your property! All of the recommendations Michele and Svein gave were excellent. Their communications were prompt and great (they even helped us out on something even when it was out of their office hours.) Our stay at Rarotonga was truly a rememberable one and no doubt deciding to stay at the Passage Villas was a huge contributor in this, thank you and see you again!

The oceanfront location is spectacular, the only sounds are the ocean and the occasional rooster. It is safe and quiet, nice to sit oceanfront, there is limited beach entry. It is close to Muri village, island bus transportation is available, however a car would also be good.The room could use shelves or drawers for storage, we had to use the extra bed and living room chair to store our clothing. The AC stopped working and ventilation was difficult, the lanai door was open but there isn't much opportunity to open other windows for free air flow. Owners are on the property and are friendly and helpful. However, somewhat cavalier in charging your credit card early.

This property has new owners that have refurbished and improved the previous set up. The villas are spacious and well appointed with lovely, fresh decor, substantial kitchen facilities and air conditioning. The grounds are tranquil - a fabulous, deep pool that is set amongst tropical flora and fauna, as well as an accessible BBQ, an outdoor bar for an evening drink or cocktail, seating alongside the reef, and access to a private beach only metres away. During our stay (9 days), the hosts were welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Fresh produce and breakfast supplies (milk, tea, coffee, bread, spreads, cereals, fruit) were waiting in the room on arrival. The outlook from the villas to the ocean is spectacular! While we were there, we experienced a tropical cyclone where the waves rolling in were magnificent! As the weather settled, so did the ocean, where it became clear and much more still. Exploring the reef and the surrounding area of the property was fabulous! Lots of little hermit crabs and other wildlife kept us amused for hours! This section of the island is the perfect spot for whale watching later in the year. There is a small shop across the road if you need basic provisions, or a little further down the road there is a gas station, larger shop and takeaways. In the other direction, Muri is only minutes away. If you are looking for accommodation that’s away from the busy, larger resorts, this is the place to stay!
