Gialos house is unique among properties in Milos because of its location. Literally just a few meters from Pachena's sandy beach, it only takes moments from where you'll be staying to walk down to the water and back. This also means a beautiful unobstructed view from the apartment's balcony as well as the two bedrooms. Perfect for families of up to four, Gialos house is cleaned daily and linen and towels are changed every two days. Pachena is peaceful and quiet and it is located just three kilometres from Pollonia with its numerous shops and restaurants and ten kilometres from Adamas, the island's port town.
Very pleased with our stay. The checkin process went smoothly and the staff helped us find a taxi. They were very kind and patient. We spent âŹ4/day to have the housekeeper come by, and it was wonderful to have clean sheets and towels to come back to. The house was pretty and in good condition, plus had A/C and a porch to sit on. Wonderful views of the ocean and sunsets, and the beach was 100 feet away. Would absolutely stay here again!
The house was located in a quiet neighborhood right on the beach. Renting a car is highly recommended. The town of Pollonia is a quick 5 min drive. Pollonia has plenty of restaurants and mini marts. House was very clean and cleaned daily.
We searched for a long time to find the best location for our 4 nights in Milos... and Gialos House on the Beach was perfect! Hereâs why...
Sunset view - amazing!
Beach Access - just a few steps away!
Location - you can walk to the stunning Papafragas Caves and beach. Just a few minutes drive to groceries and restaurants (in Pollonia and Adamantas). Very short drive to Sarakiniko (Moon Beach) and Mandrakia (must eat at Medusas!) and a few minutes more to get to Firopotamos Beach (beautiful) and Plaka (hike up to Castle for sunset). Short drive to the south of Milos to see Fyriplaka Beach - donât miss it!
Definitely recommend renting a car on Milos.
Other details - Sophia meets you at Santa Maria Resort (in Adamantas) to give you the key and lead you to Gialos House. Sheâs wonderful and very helpful! Each day someone comes to clean. (Ask for beach towels instead of using bath towels.) There are 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, small eating area, and large balcony with large table and lounge chair off the 2 bedrooms. There is AC but we didnât use it in late May. There is a TV in one bedroom but we didnât use it. There is WiFi which worked great. Parking is very close (not always the case on Milos) and to get to this house you go up 2 sets of stairs. If you walk past the houses at night (away from the light) you can see so many stars. Even better if you drive a minute towards Pollonia - Iâve never seen so many stars. We loved our stay here - highly recommended!!! :-)
What a beautiful home. Everything was clean and well maintained. We had an amazing time. The view and sunset views were awesome. The management were very helpful and very attentive to our needs. Anything we asked for they were eager to please us. The location is close to everything.
This was a great property. It's in a small neighborhood right by Pachena Beach. It's very private and quiet.
Check in was very easy at the Santa Maria Village Resort. You can use the resort amenities when staying here. We did not take advantage of this, but the pool looked very nice.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and hot plate - no oven. There isn't much room to just hang out inside, but we didn't go to Milos to sit inside our vacation rental. There is a table and chairs and a chaise on the patio. It's a great place to have a beer and enjoy the sunset.
The mattresses were on par with others we found in Greece - not super soft, but did the job.
The breeze through the house when you open the windows is amazing!
The shower is a hand held sprayer with no way to affix it over your head. This took a little getting used to, but the water pressure was great and there was no shortage of hot water.
All in all, I would definitely stay here again if I am ever lucky enough to return to Milos.
