A very nice stay.
A very nice stay. Had everything needed for the comforts of home. Be patient with the heating - was freezing at first but warmed up very nicely.
Negatives - the access road is an unmade track, no milk as promised on the website (sounds petty - but we were desperate for a brew after a 6 hour drive!).
Positives - 2 bathrooms(1 en suite), very peaceful, away from the city but still close enough to commute daily if needed.
Would definitely use again.

Ben Alder Lodge is a beautiful place to stay, clean well equipped , spacious and in lovely surroundings. Quiet peaceful and surrounded by wildlife.
We had a great stay at the Ben Alder Lodge.
We had a great stay at the Ben Alder Lodge. Everything was clean and ready to go when we arrived. The kitchen is stocked with all the needed utensils, and the appliances all worked nicely. We were able to wash a few clothes, in the washer provided, which was a great help as our clean clothes were running low. The bed was comfortable and the cottage warm.
We like the location of Ben Alder, due to its closeness to Milton of Campsie. But it is also close to Kirkentuloch, a great little village with a number of coffee shops. There are also several grocery stores in Kirkentuloch, for purchasing needed supplies for use in the self-catering cottage. There is also an attractive Parish Church and interesting canal and path running through the town.
I also like that the cottage is near the Campsie Fells, quite a beautiful set of hills, that one can walk in, if you enjoy that. All and all, we had a great experience. Recommended!
We had an amazing stay, the lodge was exceptionally clean and we were greeted with a bottle of wine on the table, milk in the fridge and plenty of loo rolls and cleaning products etc to get us started, and the owners popped along just afer we arrived to welcome us and make sure everything was as expected, the setting is beautiful, and the resident osprey over the loch was a more than welcome sight, there is a range of supermarkets within easy driving distance and a local shop all though you will still need to get into your car, the lodge is very well placed for both Glasgow and Edinburgh and a whole range of tourist atttractions, we could happily see ourselves living in a lodge of that quality and location let alone holidaying, we would certainly stay again
