Home away from Home
I felt so comfortable, welcome, and happy in this place that I hated to say good-bye. Everything a person (or more - I was alone) could want was there. Cooking and housekeeping for oneself was easy and pleasant. No one could have been kinder or more helpful than Tosos (not sure I've spelt that right), the father of the property manager. Tosos was filling in for his son, who happened to be out of the country during my visit. Local taxi driver, Fanos, was also extremely helpful, friendly, and informative. The neighborhood is a small Greek village, with a taverna and a convenience store two minutes' walk away, a beach four minutes' walk, a grocery store twenty minutes' walk. The surrounding area is picturesque. It is perfectly located for one who wants to view antiquities, especially those connected with the travels of St. Paul. My only hesitation in complete recommendation is that I don't think this would be a place for someone who is afraid of dogs, even though Greek dogs, like the people, seem to be kindly folk. It's just that there are a great many dogs in this village, some in backyards, and some wandering the streets. Unless you drive everywhere, you are certain to encounter dogs, sometimes in groups, because they are everywhere. It may be that all Greece is like that. They posed no difficulty for me, but I know people who would not have enjoyed their presence at all, so I felt it should be mentioned. For myself, I cannot recommend this place too highly. I enjoyed every minute here.
A comfortable house in a good location
We enjoyed our two nights in Evan's house in Isthmia. The house is well located in a peaceful residential area (although I do agree about the barking dogs!!!). It is close to the amazing Corinth Canal, Acrocorinth and Ancient Corinth. There is also a good supermarket close by as well as local shops. The house is well equipped, comfortable and clean. For the two of us, it was pleasantly roomy after some of the places in which we have stayed during our four weeks on the Peloponnese. It was also easy to find (unlike our previous five locations!). Evan’s directions were excellent. Evan’s father welcomed us on arrival and was extremely helpful in providing information about the house and also what to see in the local area and beyond. It is a comfortable house set in a good location from which to explore. Thank you, Evan and Tasos.
19 day stay in October, 2019 - day trips all over the main land
This is small house located in Isthmia, Greece not far from the Corinth Canal. We selected to stay at this place for three particular reasons; it was the perfect central location to do day trips to see everything we wanted to see in the country, it had all the amenities we required (wi-fi, clothes washer, full kitchen and secured parking) and lastly the price. Overall the house was very clean and the pictures in the ad are exactly what you are going to get. My wife found the bed in the bedroom a bit hard so she opted to sleep on the softer futon-bed in the kitchen. There is room in this place for a family of four or five but any more than that it will be crowded. Everything in the place worked well except the kettle stopped working on us on the second day for some reason so my wife boiled water on the stove for her tea; no big deal. This place has a full sized refrigerator/freezer in the kitchen which is great for a longer stay like ours. There is a table in the kitchen which we ate at and another large dining room table in the living room which we used as our staging/planning area for our day trips. The local cafe/restaurant up the street is very good and very cheap to eat at. We went there four times during our stay and the waitress with the long hair there speaks English well enough to get by. Our only complaint is that everyone around in that neighborhood seems to own a dog or two and they bark a lot. We did see a lot of dogs everywhere we went in Greece so maybe this is typical everywhere, I don't really know. We took to running the stand up fan and the ceiling fan to drown out the noise a bit and after a few days we were used to it. The owner's father was the one who met us at the property and he was super nice and very helpful in orienting us as to what was where in the local area and was also very knowledgeable about the major tourist attractions in Greece even though some of them were 3 and 4 hours drive away like Delphi and Monemvasia. Bottom line is if you are looking for a cheap place to stay to do day trips all over the mainland of Greece or even to see the local historical sites mixed with some beach time you will not find a better place than this.

cozy place, good base for sightseeing and close to the beach- love it!
We stayed at the house for 12 days with 4 adults, 4 yrs old and a baby and we all loved it. Nice clean house in peaceful sourrandings, close to bakery( very nice staff there and good cheap local wine to buy), cafe and grocery shop. Supermarket 5 minutes by car. Owners father ( really nice person)welcomed us in the house with lots of advices what to do and where to go.When with kids you really appreciate your own kitchen and washing machine. Weather didn't spoiled us ( time of cyclon, lots of rain)but we still managed to do a lot of sightseeing. If you have a car the house it's a good base to see lots of stuff. We managed to go to Athens. Epidavros, ancient Mycenaes, ancient Corinth(-great cafe with apollo temple views- we thought that prices will be high but we paid very reasonable price for all meals), Acrocorinth- (our most favourite place of all), Argos and Larissa castle. ancient Olipmia ( there is nearby Klio's honey farm in the town of Oliympia- free entry and presentation in a lovely family atmosphere- well worth visiting), Loutraki lighthouse, Prodomos and Philosophou monasteries, Napflio( with our favourite tavern 'Kalamari' with good prices and great service- near port parking), Hydra island, Dydymos caves with chapels and despite bad weather we managed to spend 2 days on a local beach 50 meters away from the house. The beach can't be voted the best beach in Greece( factory in the distance view) but with kids it is nice to have a access to the sea close to the place you stay plus this beach is known for low waves which is also a bonus when swimming with kids. We even managed to do some snorkling and see some fish, sea sponges and spiky sea slugs. In Isthmia you have small but quite good fruit and veg market- you can even buy snails there:)-we didn't try it but local guy insisted there are delicious with spinach in the soup. On the way to Mycenaes there is lot of stalls - try olives preserved with orange peel- deliciuos, or eggplants or courgettes in sweet syrup.
In summary - we are very satisfied and we can honestly recommend this place.
Dear Evan and Evan's father- thank you for a great stay!!!!
