Spacious 2 bedroom house with fabulous views over Kalamata

2 bedroom self contained holiday home in the Peloponnese area of Greece with fantastic views over the Messinian Bay and Kalamata. External steps lead up the back of the holiday home to the huge tiled roof terrace with sunloungers and dining furniture for outdoor eating. 1 double bedroom and 1 twin, both with wardrobes. There is a sofabed in the lounge so can sleep up to 5 people. This lovely holiday home has an open plan living room with a kitchen/dining area. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with a fridge/freezer, fan oven and microwave. The living area of the holiday home has a TV, DVD and CD player. There are several patio areas with pots of flowers surrounding the house and there is a small garden. The holiday home is set in a large plot with plenty of off-street parking and over 40 olive trees. There is a small chapel which has a festival with the local villagers (and anyone else) once a year usually the week after the Greek Easter. ** Now with air-conditioning.**

Quelle vue !

Gros point fort de la maison : sa vue superbe sur toute la côté, depuis un immense toit terrasse bien aménagé. Pour le reste, la maison est plus commune mais confortable. attention : la maison est à 20 mn en voiture du centre-ville.

On y reviendra !

La maison est sur le flanc d'une montagne. Cela fait de l'endroit un havre de paix et cela permet d'avoir une vue panoramique des plus agréables sur la baie de Kalamata. L'accueil est sympathique. La maison est décorée avec goût, et très fonctionnelle. On recommande vivement.

Magnifique !!!

Perchée sur la colline dominant Kalamata, la maison de Jackie est un lieu de rêve ; la vue est superbe, les matinées ou soirées sur la terrasse inoubliables. Le logement est très bien équipé, propre, spacieux, très agréable à vivre. L'accueil de Jackie est humainement très chaleureux... et le réfrigérateur bien garni ! Chez Jackie et Pete tout est réuni pour passer un excellent séjour. Notre seul regret : n'y être resté que deux jours ! Claude et Maryse

Spring Break Oasis

The Yellow House was the perfect retreat from our busy work schedule. It provided breathtaking views from a rooftop oasis. The owners were available for any questions we had before our trip and during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and eating meals in a cozy setting. The beds were so comfortable that we left very rested at the end of our vacation. Our family would love to return in the near future.

Mountains above Kalamata

Lovely quiet situation with great views and a roof top to enjoy them. It is well placed for some lovely walks in the mountains and also some site seeing. The villa was well equipped and we were greeted with a generous welcome pack for which we were most grateful. Jackie is helpful and friendly but not obtrusive. We had a lovely holiday.

fantastische Aussicht über Kalamata und luxuriöses Ferienhaus mit Dachterasse

Sehr gastfreundlicher Empfang mit Brot, Wasser, Milch, Bier etc. im Kühlschrank! Das Haus liegt auf dem Berg sehr ruhig. Frühstücken oder Abendessen auf der Dachterrasse mit Blick über Kalamata ist toll. Sehr gute, verglichen mit anderen griechischen Unterkünften fast luxuriöse Ausstattung inkl. Waschmaschine und schnellem W-LAN. Vermieterin ist sehr nette Engländerin, wohnt im Haus nebenan. Einziger Nachteil: man muss eine recht kurvige Bergstraße 4,5km von Kalamata hochfahren, aber es lohnt sich!

Very nice place to stay! Great view on kalamata

Very nice host Jackie. Nice place to stay, were here with our three old son. The rooms were good, and as the place is out of the city it is quite. We used the roof top every night. Very nice to see the sun go down from there

Gemütliches Häuschen mit traumhaftem Meerblick

Eine Wohnung zum Wohlfühlen mit traumhaften Blick auf die Bucht von Kalamata. Wir haben eine wunderschöne Woche bei schönstem Wetter im Mai verbracht und konnten die liebevoll gestalteten Sitzplätze im Freien genießen. Danke auch an Jackie und Pete für die Gastfreundschaft - einen gefüllten Kühlschrank vorzufinden war sehr angenehm. Alles da was man braucht inkl. Insektenschutz/Fliegengitter an den Fenstern.

Sehr schönes Ferienhaus

Ein wunderschönes Anwesen mit herrlichem Blick auf die Bucht von Kalamata und vielen interessanten Exkursionsmöglichkeiten. Auch mehrere schöne Badestrände sind gut zu erreichen. Die Wohnung bietet alles, was man sich als Urlauber wünscht: Gute Betten, eine sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, ein geräumiges, sauberes Bad mit gut funktionierender Dusche, eine wunderbare Dachterrasse mit reichlich Sitz- und Liegegelegenheiten - die dazu gehörenden Sitzpolster sind unschwer in der Wohnung zu finden. Und Jackie und Peter sind die idealen Ferienhausvermieter: sehr hilfsbereit, sehr freundlich, sehr aufmerksam, präsent und zurückhaltend zugleich. Very british eben. Mehr als nur eine nette Geste war der Kühlschrank, der so gut und überlegt zu unserer Begrüßung gefüllt war. Wer sich hier nicht wohlfühlt, dem ist nicht zu helfen. Hans, Sabine und Eva

a wonderful place

Exactly what we wanted. Excellent accommodation, clean and well fitted out. The owners were most kind and helpful and we could not have wished for better. I would certainly recommend this property. The quiet location offers beautiful views over the town and sea.

Die Vermieter, die einige Meter entfernt in ihrem Haus wohnen, waren sehr frreundlich und hatten einige Lebensmittel für uns fürsorglich im Haus bereitgelegt, als wir ankamen. Das Haus selbst aber war nicht so einladend, wie erwartet. Die Schlafzimmer und das Bad waren ok und sauber, aber die Küche, die gleichzeitig Wohnzimmer war, war eher rudimentär und ungmütlich. Auch war der Kühlschrank und das Geschirr nicht sehr sauber und die Küche insgesamt schlecht ausgestattet, so dass das Kochen kaum Spaß machte. Obwohl die Aussicht von der Dachterrasse großartig war, lud die Terrasse nicht wirklich zum Verweilen ein, die Möbel standen etwas lieblos, ohne passende Sitzpolster vereinsamt herum. Insgesamt waren wir trotz der freundlichen und hilfsbereiten Vermieter eher enttäuscht von dem Haus und finden im Vergleich mit andern Häusern, die wir zu anderen Zeiten gemietet hatten, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht ganz stimmig. Bei heißem Wetter und viel Sonne, mag das Ambiente vielleicht nicht so wichtig sein, wir hatten aber leider kühles Wetter und auch mal Regen, so dass wir mehr auf die Innenräume angewiesen waren. Der Standort aber war gut, leicht zu erreichen mit einem Auto und in guter Nähe zu Kalamata. Der Garten war ebenfalls schön angelegt.

Great, well equipped house overlooking Kalamata

I just want to say how much we enjoyed our 2 weeks in this lovely house. It's near enough to the owner's house to get help if needed, but private enough at the same time. It has pretty much everything you need; if not Jackie or Pete were happy to lend something from their own house. The house is spacious, airy, and cool, the air con wasn't necessary for us in September. Regarding the drive up; it was a bit daunting the first time, especially after a long, tiring day, but after a few goes it's not a problem if you take care. It certainly did not stop us going into town in the evenings to take advantage of the many restaurants available. Just behind the marina, off the waterfront, are several real Greek restaurants, full of local people; the same can be found at the other end of town, just a bit away from the seafront. A 2 course meal with house wine can be had for €25 - 30 for 2. There are several beaches a short drive away, which, in the week were practically deserted, and not much busier at the weekends. In short, thank you to Jackie and Pete, for a great stay, and giving us all the help and advice when we needed it.

Loved it!!

A great holiday house in a beautiful location with wonderful views! A well maintained, clean and well stocked house. We felt very well looked after by the owners - both prior to and during our stay. We have two young children and this house was ideal. The house was as described although I think the rooms are slightly bigger and more spacious in reality than they look in the photographs. A real highlight of our holiday was returning to the house each evening and watching the sunset over Kalamata and the Messinian Bay. We really enjoyed the location in Kalamata from where we explored the Peloponnese (so much to see!) as well as spending lots of time on the beach and swimming.

Great Kalamata Experience

Great holiday home, brilliant views and well located less than 15 mins drive from centre of Kalamata. A spacious, spotless home, well equipped to a good standard with everything we needed for our stay. Easy access to the roof terrace with great views of countryside and sea. Owners were professional and friendly from start to finish and were on hand when we arrived to show us around. Brilliant!

Kalamata is a friendly and safe town, and Peter and Jackie's cottage is lovely; although the pictures show this better than any words of mine could do. What the pictures can't show is what superb hosts they are. They are charming; friendly; helpful, and kind people. They care very much that the cottage is comfortable and well equipped and that their quests have an easy and relaxed holiday. Their attention to detail and the love that they put into their home and garden is a delight. They are always ready with a smile, and nothing is too much trouble. It doesn't surprise me how many of their guests return so often - as shall I. Thank you Jackie and Peter.

Peaceful Gem & Great Touring base

We had a wonderful 2 week stay at the Yellow House which proved to be a good base for touring adventures in the Mani & Messinia. There is lots to do and see - beautiful beaches and historical excursions are easily accessible and the historic sites of Mystras and Messene are in easy reach. Some adventurous off road driving too, if you are so inclined! The house itself is well equipped - the air con & fans a godsend on hot nights. The view from the terrace roof is fabulous, great sunsets and skyscapes looking over the great sweep of the Bay of Messinia. There’s an array of comfortable furniture on the terrace roof, that makes it a great spot to relax. There is an impressive collection of books, DVD’s and CD’s and games for families. The house was clean and well maintained. The house is perhaps best for self caterers in the evenings, as it's a dark and bendy drive down to Kalamata. However, the eating out tables at the house make this a delight, overlooking the twinkling lights of Kalamata below. Taverna's do abound in all towns when wanted and there are a couple in Elaiochori above the house. The Owners live next door and were very friendly and helpful when needed.

Little Haven of Peace

We had the pleasure of staying at the Little Yellow house in June 2010 and what a week we had. From the outset the welcome which was afforded to us was wonderful. And the welcome stretched to our welcome pack of food ensuring that we settled into our holiday from day one. Jackie and Pete the owners were very helpful but unobtrusive . The house – ousing ‘home from home’, was equipped to a very high standard and very spacious with all modern conveniences which made for a very relaxing stay. The small details – dvds should you grow tired of the outside views from the wonderful and spacious top balcony. Books to laze away the hours until you required another refreshing drink or wanted to experience another view from one of the many other seating areas! The ambience of the outside seating areas along with the many panoramic views from the house made it a pleasure to stay and a sadness when it came time to leave. We would not hesitate to recommend this ‘Little Haven of peace’ to anyone. Thank you once again Jackie and Pete (you have certainly found your heaven – go and share it with them)!
