Simple apartment with everything you need for the perfect getaway. The view is amazing and the location can’t be beat. It was very hard to say goodbye.

Condo was perfect. Couldn’t ask for a better view. This was our first time in zihuantenjo and everyone loved it. There were so many restaurants near the condo and everyone one of them had great food. I wood highly recommend this condo for your stay.

We really enjoyed our stay ! The condo was just as described . Very spacious with breathtaking views ! The breeze comes thru so nicely that we barely used the AC. Comfortable beds and all the necessities needed . Three bathrooms and washer/dryer a plus . Thank you Carmen for your hospitality !

Loved it

We loved the location and the complex the condo was in. We also loved the actual condo! The condo was very spacious and had pretty much everything we needed. Loved the breezes from both directions, they kept the condo cool with nice fresh ocean air so we didnt need to use the air conditioners. Spectacular views from all sides. We felt very safe with the 24 hour security and the pool and area were kept spotless. My only suggestion would be a couple more pots or pans of different sizes would have been nice. A little more attention to detail with the cleaning would have been nice too. In general it was good but the stove needed a touch up before I felt good about using it. In general we were very pleased and would recommend it highly.

This has been our third stay at this place. Great location with a wonderful view. Security is real good. Yuo can not get in the building unless you are a guest. Everything you ned is at a walking distance.. Mrs carmen was very helpful.

Great location, building appears to be very well maintained and onsite security is very reassuring. Agree with previous reviewer that this suite could use a bit of a refresh.

Great location - unit needs updating

This is an amazing location in Zihuatanejo. The La Madera neighborhood has beautiful views of the bay, great restaurants, and is easily walkable to the city center. The property is well kept, has wonderful staff, and a nice private pool area. This unit, however, is in SEVERE need of updating. The light fixtures and appliances are all rusted, paint is peeling in places, shower heads are clogged, most of the interior doors are warped, and the overstuffed furniture is filthy (we covered in sheets so we could sit on it). I understand that being close to the ocean in the tropics causes maintenance issues. However, if owners stay on top of those things, they don't become problems as has happened in this unit. In such a beautiful location, it's sad to see a unit in such disrepair. An investment of $10,000 would go a long way - strip, deep clean, repair, and update furniture, fixtures, and appliances...make this jewel shine like it should!!

Fantastic View

We very much enjoyed the condo. The view was excellent out of every window. The location was perfect for our needs and fitness level. The pool was well maintained and always enticing. The security guards were always present and very friendly.The master bedroom was huge, but had I have designed it, I would have made the seating area smaller and the bathroom a bit bigger. Lots of good restaurants very close by. If we decide to revisit Zih, we would try to stay in this location again. Helge and Liliana

Beautiful Oceanview Apartment

This apartment was perfect four our family of four. Breathtaking views...everyday! Playa Madera felt like a more private, local beach and whenever we visited other beaches (La Ropa), we were so happy to come back to this quieter bay. The apartment is spacious, bright and the open windows give you a feeling of being outdoors all the time. All the amenities we needed were in the rental and it is furnished well. The pool is private, clean and offers beautiful views and the other owners in the building were kind and welcoming to us. The location is a 15 minute walk from the town centre and a 5 minute walk from delicious restaurants. We appreciated the proximity to the market, shops and restaurants - not many taxi's needed! We loved it in Zihuatenejo! We also loved this rental! Thanks Jim and Holly, we will definitely be back. Adios!

The view was worth the walk up the stairs. Once you enter the condo the view, breeze and sound of the ocean greet you. The condo was perfect for 2 couples. Really enjoyed our stay and our time in Zihuatanejo.

Open-air aerie in a great location with amazing views

Incredible setting. The bay is surrounded by hills, this building is on a little cobble-stoned street on the top of a little hill right next to the beach. Open-air windows on all sides, breezes blowing through and the sound of the water below. It was really a beautiful and interesting setting because you are perched looking over this bay that feels kind of like an amphitheater, then you have a similarly amazing view in the other direction facing the neighborhoods. You can see the fishermen casting their nets, swimmers doing their morning exercise, water taxis, then all the neighborhood activity on the other side. Lots of real people everywhere. Not pretentious, but beautiful. I would say most of the tourists we saw were mexican tourists - not many anglos. The building had a small pool, which was refreshing and also a pretty setting. The condo is in the perfect location in my opinion, because you could walk five minutes to town, the fisherman beach, the mercado, the water taxi pier, etc, or you could walk an easy and interesting walk in the other direction to playa la ropa to see something else. And of course the Playa La Madeira was the beach directly below the building itself, so you can always pop down there for a quick dip. After walking around a lot, we felt we had chosen our lodgings well and to our taste. there is a little mini-store on a corner nearby, and a few large grocery stores you can walk to, then maybe take a taxi back, for about 2-3 dollars or something.

Fabulous view!

Although we only stayed for one night I would HIGHLY recommend this lovely property. Beautiful view, tons of character and spotless. Carmen greeted us and was nothing short of awesome. I arrived grumpy, late and hot and she turned my attitude around quite quickly ❤️

Beautiful, open air, tropical breezes! The pool and ocean view are beautiful! Walk to most everything! Great service from caretaker. We are going back for our second year in a row and can’t wait!!

The view was beautiful

The view is amazing and the location is good. I was not aware that there would be construction in the apartment next door. I had to call the hotel manager everyday due to the banging on walls for demolishion. The water being cut off everyday. It was very unfortunate because I would have enjoyed a very pleasant stay. The condo needs a bit of TLC. Very nice staff and enjoyed my view. But would have rather avoided the demolishion part and not rented if had known. I felt like the owner gave up after a while and stopped emailing me and left it to the hotel manager to deal with. Called and left a voicemail and several email messages and never called me I think they stopped After the 3 day. Would have rather deal with them than calling there manager who kept saying she would stop her demolishion crew everyday and did the opposite. Will probably jut stay here again just to avoid having to call maintenance everyday to fix problems.

Perfect location!!

We had too many choices when trying to find a rental here in Zihuatanejo. It appears we picked the best. We have a beautiful beach with only a short walk into town. The view from the apartment can't be beat.

Spacious Condo with amazing views & great location

We have stayed in this condo for the last five years and it has been great. Yes, the bad next door neighbors are gone! They were in the process of cleaning out and remodeling that unit when we were there. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful condo for us

Our family of 4 adults, and two elementary school age boys were delighted when we entered the condo and saw the open air views of the ocean. We felt like we were outside all the time with a great view of Playa La Madera (beach). We were there over the Christmas holiday season and while some might have been put off by the large number of Mexicans visiting, it was fun for us to experience the culture, and enjoy the ocean with so many happy people. Our 2 little boys were even able to make friends with little boys their age in spite of the language barrier. The beach was only 77 steps down (up) from our condo building. We very much appreciated Jim and Holly's detailed pre-arrival instructions, beginning with directions from the airport. Carmen, the apartment manager, was there to greet us when we arrived and she was very helpful and pleasant, including trying to help this 70 yr old grandma get her bag up 3 flights of stairs. Carmen made sure our questions were answered and that we had internet access before she left, leaving us her number if we needed to contact her for anything. Speaking of technology, the internet worked fine and we appreciated the TV only for watching the Packers defeat the Lions on Jan. 1. This condo is not luxurious, but homey and practical, (it's amazing how sand from the beach climbs the stairs) and we had everything we needed. The bedrooms are spacious and air conditioned, though there was such good air flow throughout that we didn't need to use it every night. We did try out the condo pool which was very clean, but the boys preferred the sand and ocean. Our detailed instructions also included local recommended restaurants, where we could get our laundry done, buy supplies and staples, and hail a taxi, etc. The condo is centrally located with an easy walk to town central, and the great restaurants down the hill on Adelita St. were so convenient, serving wonderful dinners. We always felt safe and security was evident at the condo building most of the time, especially in the evening. All in all, we loved our weeklong stay, and definitely would stay there again! Thanks Jim and Holly for providing such a great vacation venue!

Great apartment, bad neighbour

Our family stayed here for several weeks in May and June 2016. We loved our time in Zihua. The apartment was perfect for our needs, with amazing views and a nice walking distance from everything we needed. We would give a 5 star review if it was not for one thing which unfortunately we could not overlook. In the first week, we had suspicions that the man who lived next door was dealing drugs. A few weeks later, we nearly stepped on syringes in the street immediately below the apartment’s bedroom. Finally, we decided that the situation was not safe for us when I witnessed the neighbour injecting drugs into the arm of a man at 6pm in the stairwell just 10ft from our apartment door. To be honest if I was travelling alone, I would not have let this spoil my vacation and would have stayed on. When travelling with two young children however, I could not overlook this, and so we left for home the following day. I only hope that the resident of the apartment next door is evicted soon so that others can enjoy this lovely apartment.

Amazing location and view!

This is our second time staying at this condo and as last year I am a bit hesitant to share this secret. ITS AMAZING but please do not take our week! The location is right on Playa Madera and the view is spectacular. It is on the third floor up a hill. It takes a bit of getting used to but your legs will look amazing by the end of the week. Carmen, the on site property manager, is pleasant and very responsive. If you need help with anything she is right there! We are already dreaming of next year.

Perfect, as per usual

We've stayed at this unit before (and a couple of others in this building) and love it. Spacious, well-appointed, and just steps from La Madera beach. The manager, Carmen, is a delight and always makes it easy to get settled.

Holly and I are both from the Chicago area. She is a software engineer and I currently am in the Restaurant/Bar business. We try to get to Zihua as often as possible, especially during the winter.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We originally looked at another unit for sale in our building on a whim. We fell in love with it the unit had sold. Our realtor found our unit several months later and we purchased sight unseen. (Pictures only) We love our location and the availability to everything.
