Bienvenue à Papaws Place une belle cabine au bord du lac toute l'année avec 2 chambres et 2 salles de bain avec quai saisonnier et rampe de chargement toute l'année. Cette maison remonte un peu dans le temps à vos chalets de pêche d'autrefois. Grande cour plate avec arbres ombragés, tables de pique-nique et accès facile au lac et au quai. Grande terrasse grillagée avec vue toute l'année sur le lac Douglas. La terrasse a beaucoup de meubles, un foyer au gaz, une table à manger et des chaises, 2 chaises à œufs suspendues et un gril à gaz (l'échange de réservoir est la responsabilité des invités, veuillez vérifier avant de cuisiner). canapé sectionnel avec grand téléviseur 60 pouces à écran plat et table de ping-pong, baby-foot et table de hockey sur air ainsi que plusieurs jeux de société, table en damier et chaises (peut également être utilisé pour les cartes et les jeux de société). Salle de bain complète au niveau inférieur. A l'étage, 1 grande chambre avec lit queen, petit coin salon avec télévision à écran plat, 2ème chambre avec 2 lits doubles et 1 ensemble de lits gigognes jumeaux. Tous les lits sont antiques.

Very nice place

This is a very nice place to stay with the family, it was very clean, very comfy, super nice view. We loved the xmas decoration. Over all it was amazing, we will definitely come back here again.

So clean! Everything inside was as described. There were plenty of places for sleeping. Me and 3 kids slept on the couch downstairs! The screened in porch was absolutely the best part! Only thing about the house was it was still under going some updates but it didn’t affect our good time! Thank you for the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful home!

Good location

Awesome location on the lake and close enough to the hustle and bustle of pigeon forge. The layout of the house was great for our family of 5, everyone had their own bed and plenty of space. The property could use a few minor cosmetic repairs; touch up paint, towel bars, screen door, and a few boards on the dock. The dock was small but worked for our boat. Overall it was a great stay!

Good rental for kids

Overall a good experience here. The kids all had a good time with the games and such the cabin offered. Would of been nice to have a jacuzzi or something for the older ones. Definitely would stay again though.

Beautiful, peaceful location

This was a short getaway to distress, for me and my daughter and her two Teenage boys. It was perfect location. The serene water of the lake was very relaxing. And the boys enjoyed swimming in the water and going kayaking. Also, I wasn’t short drive to pigeon Forge and some of the smoky mountain attractions. The boys enjoyed the Arcade type games located in the Great room of the mountain/Lakehouse.

Nice Getaway Location

House is located at end of street on lake ... great location. Enjoyed fishing, swimming, floating off dock. Kitchen supplies/utensils could be updated. Main floor is buckling right in center of room which is a potential hazard. Overall relaxing getaway but property could use some updating.

Pros and cons

Pros: Location and views are amazing. The main floor is very spacious and has ping pong table and Pokémon game console that everyone loved. The kitchen has utensils, glassware etc. Cons: The dock is a disaster. One thing it's not on the water but it looks like a constructions zone with broken cinder blocks all around it. Previous renters left trash and we picked it all up. The house is not being taken care of. A kitchen cabinet was missing a door, there was a hole in the wall in the corner and little things like that bulbs are not in or batteries in the remote not working but the main thing was the sectional in the living room it reeked of urine.

Nice house but needs some things.

The house is what it says. A washer and dryer would have been nice. I assumed it had them but it didn’t. And the flooring on the main floor is buckled up in a few spots, which should be addressed. We would stay again if these couple things were taken care of.

Charming, sweet, tastefully rustic.

We had only one issue at no fault to our host. The walkway down to the water was not usable and exstremly hard to maneuver down to the dock. Especially with a 3 year old. But we made due.. they were fixing it on the morning of checkout .. We wished for a hot tub..sore from tubing and jet skiing.. The house was beautiful and perfect for us....had everything we needed. We would definitely Would recommend this place to our friends and family And would definitely do it again. Thank you so much to our host.

Nice Get Away

The location is great, not far from things, but not in the middle of the hustle & bustle. The flooring has been updated to beautiful hardwoods. There is not a pool table or foosball table that is show in the pictures. The outdoor porch was nice, would have liked the swing seats & the fire table, but those are no longer there. We had plenty of room with 6 of us, 4 adults & 2 teens. The ping pong table & gaming console were life savers as it rained a couple of days. Only a couple of things missing, a hot tub & washer/dryer would be great, but overall a great please. This property would be amazing in the summer with the lake, just an FYI.

Great family retreat

We had a great time. The location and access to the lake made this a perfect spot for the kids to play and enjoy nature. The rooms worked great for 6 of us. There are a few minor things that could be better. I think there were only 5 spoons in the drawer. Not a huge deal as we had plastic but worth a mention. The lighting around the kitchen isn’t good after sundown. There were numerous shadowed areas that made food prep and cleanup difficult. The sectional smelled of animal urine. The listing clearly states no pets but someone before us must have brought pets. Finally, the dock was not usable. It wasn’t in the water and several calls to inquire were not returned. The water level was high when we were there and every other property had floating docks, so seemed to be a problem with this one specifically. Great location, great setup for families, but a few little updates and deep cleaning of couch would greatly enhance the stay.

Amazing View….

Communication with the owner was good. There was a slight issue when unlocking the lock box due to one of the numbers being broken. When I called the owner about the issue, she seemed to not care. Advised she was an hour away & couldn’t come. This could be an issue in the future. The house definitely needs a good dusting. There were cob webs on the bottom of the kitchen cabinets. The house in general could use a good deep clean. The lake is accessible. The stairs do need work as one came lose and my aunt fell down the hill… The view and location is amazing.

Great view with great fun!

The view and fun in the water was great! There was a pingpong table and an arcade game which made for great fun when we were inside! The beds are absolutely awful, but beds are never great when on vacation! Overall, I absolutely recommend staying here! We've been to Gatlinburg several times. This is hands down the best place we've stayed. We will be back! A few things to note: 1) The key box is ON the porch. I was struggling at night to find it and since there isn't a house number on the building that I could see, we were nervous to just walk on the porch without knowing for sure it was the right place. Not a big deal, just something to keep in mind. 2) Be careful at night!! There was a bear on the porch one night. Since it's close to the water and not near much civilization, that's to be expected. But just make sure you're being careful to not spook a bear at night. If outside at night, just keep your head on a swivel to be safe.

Better than pictured

The pictures and description of this place do not do it justice. The view of the lake is gorgeous. Pros: 1. Amazing lake views with a big porch and fire pits. It’s quiet and peaceful. There is a great sunrise view from the big bedroom. 3. It’s big. There is a queen in one bedroom, the other has two queens and two cots. There is a second sitting room with tv upstairs. 4. It’s clean. NO weird smells. 5. Pacman is fun (of course)! 6. Don’t be frightened by the lengthy rental agreement. There were soaps, hotel-shampoos, and more than one roll of toilet paper. :D 7. The kitchen has a crockpot and plenty of pots and pans. Cons: 1. Lake water levels are low in the fall/winter months, so there is no dock access then. 2. There is a steep drop off from the yard to the water so be careful with children or people with special needs. 3. There is a 5 or 10-degree temperature difference from downstairs to upstairs. In the winter, the downstairs floor is cold so bring your warm socks. 4. There is no dishwasher or washer/dryer (as of Nov 2023). 5. The main TV is massive and sits right behind the dining table. FYI - there is a weird gate right before you reach the house that you need to drive around.

Not one I’d rent again

A house this size and price should be checked before people especially the elderly arrive. It’s not handicap accessible especially the bedroom situation where the beds they do have are upstairs. No mention of that anywhere, we’d never stayed if I had known none were located down. The first issue was no working kitchen lights and when I messaged the manager I was made to feel like I was an idiot for not knowing how to switch a light on. I told her it had a remote there and it could go with the ceiling fan but that too wasn’t working and she said no, that wasn’t it, it has to be on the wall. So we used the oven light till she sent a person over the next day and come to find out it was ran by the remote. Each time I messaged her Which was only about serious problems, not about missing light bulbs, spider webs and cheap red wash cloths that bled into the white towels which we tried our best to keep apart from one another. We noticed the downstairs was so much colder than the upstairs and we had to put our two 85 year old mothers down there with the issue being one has leukemia and can’t do stairs and the other just had a knee replacement. So we used some blankets that were on beds upstairs to warm them down. I never mentioned that because she made us feel like she kept saying “I’ve never had any complaints” each time I did mention something. But the real kicker was we never had any hot water till the next to last day, which she also didn’t believe me. Yes it too had broken down.

Beautiful view!

In our group we had 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 2-8) and the set up worked out great! There were games for the kids (which was nice when it rained, which was a lot!) and the adults especially liked the porch looking out to the lake. It looks like there were new steps put in going down to the lake along with a fire pit. I’m not sure what the old steps looked like, but these were really nice and made it easier for the kids. If they didn’t have that before, I’m sure we would’ve had a difficult time getting into the water. It’s located close for day trips to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and not too much further to hike. I also did want to note, which I’m sure they’re aware, that the downstairs flooring could use some repairs. It was bubbled up in a lot of places and everytime we walked on it, we felt like we were making it worse because it would buckle. It also might be time for some new sheets. The fitted sheet on the one bed kept coming off and was really tight to get back on. Which we would have to fight with every morning to fix lol!

We would stay here again.

The house was perfect for us. The ping pong g table and video game system was super fun. The view was breathtaking. The drive up to the property was all paved. It was quiet and serene. A few minor issues were - the toilet upstairs was very loose and wobbly, the water pressure was low for showers, the water was hot downstairs but lukewarm upstairs, and there was poor lighting downstairs. We would stay here again.

View and location was perfect!

The view was beautiful and the location was just perfect! I love that there were enough dishes and utensils for my family to use. However the only thing that really bugged me were some white stains on the blanket in master room. Looks like it could be washed off. Everything else was very good!

Great experience here.

Our family loved it for our first time visiting Gatlinburg. Beautiful view of the lake. There were pet hairs from other animals on the couch but that is to be expected in a pet friendly cabin. It was stocked with essentials...towels and wash rags, cookware, cups, plates, coffee maker etc. which is a plus. Water pressure in the showers were a bit low but not a big deal. We look forward to planning our next trip!! ❤️
