Amazing house and destination
The house is in perfect condition and everything works just fine. We had the beach mostly for ourselves so be careful of strong tides - there's no lifeguard. Anyway, we didn't find them to be dangerous. Kids 11+ can have a swim safely as long as an adult is watching.
The pool was certainly a plus for when the sea was too cold (especially on cloudy days).
It's the ideal place to fully rest.
A great holiday vacation home on the beach in northern Peru.
We had a great, relaxing time at Casa Nuro. Jorge and his wife were super hosts. Their son was able to take us to the market in Organos in a moto taxi. He arranged for a van to go to Mancora for the day, and take us to the airport the day we left. We walked to El Nuro to see the large turtles. Although it was winter in Peru, the outside temperatures in the northern beach area was nice. The living arrangements for six people, the open concept, the kitchen, the dining and living room, the super, clean pool, ... the house could not have been better!!
We will be back!!!
Thank you so very much for such a positive review of Casa Ñuro. It is a special place for my wife and I and it is wonderful to have our feelings about it validated in such a wonderful way. We would love to have you back!
A great getaway place in sea paradise
Where to begin! We stayed for 3 nights. and this place met all our expectations. The house is ample and has enough rooms to accommodate at least 10 -12 guests. It has a great kitchen with a wrap around bar with bar stools for entertaining; great spot to catch up while cooking or preparing drinks. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils, enough to prepare a nice meal. The dinning is off the kitchen and big enough to accommodate a family of 10 or 12. The living room is big enough as well, although the sofas are a bit small, but who wants to stay inside when you have such amazing views and a nice swimming pool outside. There are plenty of lounges next to the swimming pool to enjoy the sun and just a quick walk and you can reach the seashore and the ocean. There is a small shower before you step out onto the beach to rinse off all the sand before coming back to the house. It would be better if you bring your own transportation and plenty of groceries if you like to prepare your own meals. There is a fridge and a freezer to store your goods. There is also a laundry room if you are staying here long enough. There is no need for a dryer since the sun will dry up everything so fast; so bring enough sun block. Darryl was great at responding to our questions and inquiries. Once you arrive to the entrance gate there is a 5 minute drive to the house on a road that is not paved and it's a bit rough. If you are not too much into cooking there are several places nearby to enjoy amazing seafood. El Ñuro is located a 5 - 10 minute drive south from the house. Los Organos is 15 - 20 min and Mancora 25 min (great restaurants) north of the house. We visited Cabo Blanco on a Tuesday and most restaurants were empty and with little to offer so I guess they get more provisions during the weekend. Just be aware that the drive to Cabo Blanco has a very steep and twisted road. Roger (caretaker) and Richard (gatekeeper) were very attentive and helpful. Roger responded to very question we had and even helped us set up the BBQ. To BBQ you just need to buy the charcoal; we drove to El Ñuro to buy some - PEN 1.00 for a small bag (we used 5 - 6 bags). We also decided to visit El Ñuro and try swimming with the turtles. You get to the pier, pay PEN 5.00 entrance fee and then PEN 10.00 per person. You get a 20 minute ride and 40 minutes swimming with loyts of turtles. All and all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and whenever possible we will be back.
Such a thorough and positive review makes my wife and I proud and grateful that you and your party enjoyed the house and the area so much. As well, your comments will help other travellers. Thank you so much.
Peaceful Paradise, excellent family Vacation
Excellent for families. We went there with our three kids and it accommodated my mother and sister with her child, as well. The groundskeeper was extremely helpful (Snr. Morquencho). He was very accommodating, taking us into town and back home. Guiding us through the market area of Los Organos. The beach house itself was surrounded/protected by these beautiful hills which gave the feeling you were in California or Arizona. It was clean, comfortable and boasted the most amazing views, which we loved waking up to every morning. The pool was cleaned on a daily basis, and the garden and surrounding landscape was well maintained which added to our vacation experience. As you walk through the home into the pool deck area continue on the path through the garden you reach the gate which leads to your private beach, literally metres from the home. We saw no one around during our whole stay. The property was well protected. The kids loved running around on the beach collecting little red crabs and riding the waves. The water was very warm. Walking back there was an outdoor shower to clean off the salt water and sand, we basically had all the home comforts and amenities one would expect in a vacation home, including laundry. Los Organos was a ten-minute moto taxi ride away and if you felt more adventurous Mancora was a 20-minute ride from the home. In the opposite direction, you also have the small fishing town of Nuro (10-minute ride) which offers a "swimming with the turtles " attraction which our kids thoroughly enjoyed. All was very cost effective and well worth it. We can not say enough other than looking forward to our stay next year.
Thank you so much for your positive review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay. Your opinions about the house and the area are strikingly in line with our own and it was as if we were there while reading it.
THE way to enjoy Peru
We had a great family vacation at casa Ñuro. The house is beautiful, safe, spacious, comfortable, easy to keep, and everything works.
It is the best experience to come home from an extenuating morning of surf and prepare some Ceviche with Mariela, the lady who keeps the house squeaky clean.
Mariela and her husband Jorge, take care of the house, they are very kind, always available and willing to help. Mariela cooks Peruvian dishes and is also a great guide to take on the first visits to the market.
The beach is very nice, almost human free, unless some of the neighbours are there, but in any case they are very few.
We had a great time: surf+Peruvian food+nature+family.
Thank you for taking the time to let other travelers and ourselves how much you enjoyed the house. We are so glad that you had a wonderful time.
We spent nearly a week this beautiful house, as part of our honeymoon. We don't have anything negative to say, and too much that's positive to fit in here, but here's some of the main points:
- Perfect for privacy, we barely saw anyone else for the whole stay.
- The beach almost feels like it only belongs to the one villa. We enjoyed sunset strolls without seeing another soul- just lots of pelicans swooping across the waves!
- We wanted to cook for ourselves so the owner helpfully arranged for us to be taken into the local town and (as we don't speak Spanish) to have help shopping at the market, etc. As someone interested in food (and cooking) this was one of the highlights of our whole holiday. We picked up foods we wouldn't normally have known about, and probably paid a lot less! The ceviche we made for our first lunch was one of the freshest and tastiest we had all holiday.
- The pool was great- perfect to cool off after time in the sun.
- Although we were just one couple, it's a huge place and would be perfect for families or groups of couples.
- The owner's communication beforehand was perfect. Quick, helpful and friendly.
Thank you so very much for your review. We truly feel grateful that we you were able to enjoy the house so much.
