Cette charmante maison comprend 2 chambres et 2 bains. Everything about this property was perfect! Exactly as listed. The beach was meticulously manicured almost daily, communication with the property manager with recommendations was above and beyond and the cabana was wonderful! We can’t wait to visit again.

Comfortable Home Steps From the Water

The space is clean and comfortable. We loved the private beach cabana and restaurant next door. It was the right balance of seclusion and convenience, especially traveling with a toddler. Highly recommended.

This is the place to stay

Lovely 2 bed/bath right on the water. Great amenities. Grocery store and a bar/restaurant within easy walking distance. Maya Beach is a great location. We will be back again. Leo and his staff were very helpful!

Super clean, so beautifully decorated! All new but kept old Belizean charm! Close to restaurants, store and bar. On beach, great chairs! Lovely towels, sheets and matress!!! Only thing missing was a skillet...We will stay again! .

2 weeks in Paradise

The house had everything we needed. It was so nice being right on the beach. The owner went out of his way to make us feel welcome. We ate at the Green Parrot next door. The staff there is great. We left feeling relaxed and happy. I highly recommend this place.

On the beach

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabana was in a wonderful area, with a restaurant next door. Very quiet area. Loved the thunder storm over the sea. Leo the property manager picked us up at the airport. He answered all our questions about the area. He also took us up to the local Maya Ruins. Would advise any one to stay here.

Great Vacation!

Overall our stay was wonderful. Unfortunately, the TV did not work, but with the beautiful weather, I doubt we would have watched it very much. Access to the beach was amazing and lots of restaurants within walking distance. We did need someone to come out to look at the stove, but our request was answered immediately and the problem was fixed.

As Great As Remembered

I stayed at Macaw Beach House in August 2022 and couldn't wait to go back. It's such a comfortable, clean, and private place in a great location. Being right on a beautiful beach with your own palapa is a slice of heaven. Macaw House offers lots of privacy and there are great restaurants within walking distance. Marvin met us for our earlier-than-scheduled arrival and was very responsive during our entire stay. Anthony was also great in answering all of our questions in advance and handling our booking. I l can't wait to go back again and hope this special spot maintains all of its charm.

Sufficiently Comfy

This two-story unit was very comfortable and private. I loved having two bathrooms! Unit can accommodate a much longer stay. Using the WhatsApp, I was able to communicate with manager on-site. This is located on the east side of the peninsula, making the beach part not inviting for swimming due to the kelp and trash that washes up on the shoreline.

Wonderful!

This little piece of heaven on Maya Beach worked out perfectly for our vacation. Our adult daughter had the downstairs and my husband and I were upstairs. So great to have our own space while having time together too. The house is very comfortable, the beach is right outside the door and gorgeous - white sand, hammocks, beach chairs all right at the water. We loved it! And by the way, Leo and the entire staff at Green Parrot next door were so helpful and great - a definite plus having them right there.

Absolutely Fabulous

This was the best vacation experience of my life. We were picked up at the airport and brought to the most beautiful spot on earth. When we came onto the property it felt as though we stepped back 60 years into a Hemingway novel. Morning coffe on the veranda. Afternoons on the quiet and serene beach under the palapa. We had snorkeling, fishing and tours to the interior all arranged by Leo and they picked us up at the house. I don't see how it could have been better.

Rental us well stocked and very comfortable.

Beach was nice. Unfortunately in Feb sea grass came in most days as winds usually out of the east making it not great for swimming. Many good places to eat within walking distance. Vendors who travel up from the Punta Gorda area are very pleasant and not pushy at all. They do not barter unless multiple items are purchased as they are part of a cooperative that make and market the items. Leo is very helpful and knowledgeable. Unit has lots of linens and utensils.

Great Place

What more can you say. ON. THE. BEACH. What a view! This is an older home but nicely decorated and well maintained. Relaxing environment. Nice kitchen, but hey, who prepares meals when you are on vacation. Maya Beach and nearby Placencia have some great restaurants. Beach chairs and shade shelter provided. If you have multiple electronic devices, bring an extension cord. The downstair room has a damp musty odor as in older houses but the upstairs is fine. Keep that in mind if you have breathing problems or allergies.

Comfortable and Relaxing

We were referred to this property by a hotel in Cahal Pech. Booking with Ken was simple and easy. We found the studio to be very quaint, comfortable, and private. It was also very clean! We appreciated the modern luxuries of the A/C, full kitchen, small appliances, complete kitchen, drinking water dispenser, and bicycles to use. The Green Parrot Resort next door was very accommodating with helping us access the bikes and transferring to the airstrip. A small grocery store is just down the street (2 min walk). The owner of the store was kind enough to let us take a cart of groceries to the house :). Overall, our stay was very relaxing as intended. Thank you Ken!

Great vacation!

We just had a great week+ in Maya Beach. The place was perfect for our family of 5 and perfectly located for a laid back vacation that was accessible to lots of activities. The porch was a favorite spot along with the hammocks on the beach. The beds were comfortable and there were plenty of towels to go around. We loved being able to eat at “home” but then also head next door to the Green Parrot for a quick meal or across the street to Bijou treats for yummy bakery items. Having Leo the manager at the Green Parrot as our contact while there was super helpful to book snorkeling/fishing trips and the Monkey River trip-both highlights! He also let us use the pool! We also loved our outing to the waterfall at the Mayan king, wandering around Placencia and the spa at Naia hotel down the road. We had a car which was great for outings. Thanks for a great stay! We are already thinking about our next trip to Belize!

Perfect place and location!

My husband and I spent a week at the Macaw house in Maya Beach. We feel that we could not have found a better place. Granted, the kitchen and bathrooms could use an update, but everything was very functional, and we cooked dinner every other day. The location offers gorgeous views of the beach and surroundings. We were able to swim every day, as the water was warm and had enough waves to make it fun, but not unsafe. Leo and Marvin were great for everything we needed and for organizing day trips. The proximity to the Green Parrot beach restaurant was a big plus, as we could just walk next door to have lunch or dinner. Also grocery store and bakery within walking distance. We rented a car and drove from Belize city airport, which was about 2:40 hours via the Coastal Highway. Still under construction, so a little slower, but shorter than going through Belmopan. Placencia is a quaint little town with great cute places to eat and enjoy the surroundings. We would love to come back.

Adequate lodging for a few days.

The place is dated, but it was clean and functional. The location is great. The bathroom needs a gut-job and remodel. It really didn’t have the cleanest feel, expecially the shower. We didn’t pay for five-star accomodations, so no real complaints, just letting people know what to expect. The only real problem was the beach. It was essentially unusable due to the trash washed up. It had not been cleaned/raked in quite some time. There was even a syringe laying there nicely in the piles. Yuk! Leo was great. They were very responsive. In fairness, I did not complain about the beach at the time we were there. If we had, I feel they likely would have done something about it.

Was not as promised! It said screened in porch. It was not. The air was out our first night. We had to sleep on the porch. Yes, the porch. When we could not reach the manager we contacted the owner by email. He was very unhelpful, The beech was full of seaweed not cleaned to get to the water. The tv did not get local channels and did not have instructions to use it. The inside of the house was ok and it did have a view of beech. The hammocks where rotted. We were not offered compensation for the night we had to sleep on the the porch because the house was hot . The house was not bad after the air was repaired.

Great for families

Ken is a great owner and easy to access via email and phone. His place is great, clean and relaxing. Very relaxing, if you want to hang. His photos and description are very accurate. His price is great for the area and the air conditioning is a huge plus. Mosquito screening in both places was great. Do not ever purchase a room in Belize without an air conditioner or screens. Both of Ken's rooms have them and both were well used. The beach is clean, easy to walk on and shallow. It is a few yards from your door. We cooked most of time. If you want to get all your food for the week you do have to make going to Placencia a big shopping day. It does cost $15 USD each way to get to the Placencia. We went when the water around the island was murky so we could not see much, but got a great trip to Silk Caye with Splashdive. Restaurants charge about $12-18 per meal per person. Prices in Belize are not cheap, but they are reasonable. Placencia has some good restuarants: the Shak, the Secret Garden. Just expect food to take a long time to be served.. remember you are in Belize and food is served on Belize time... not your time. Have a great time in Belize and rent from Ken.

The house was exactly as advertised! It was clean and right on the beach. The green parrot next door was our favorite place to eat and meet the locals! Leo and Marvin were exceptionally accommodating and couldn’t have asked for finer people! I’ll go back over and over and will not stay anywhere else! Love, love love!

Nothing exciting happens after 9pm and everyone loves a sunrise over that beach - the birds and the colours will greet you early here.
