A stylish and comfortable apartment in one of the very few houses situated high up on the spectacular Front Range. Explore the area, or relax in the natural cedar hot tub while taking in the views and the Colorado wildlife. The house is on 3 acres bordered by open space - the perfect base for exploring the Rocky Mountains and the Boulder area. Easy access to RM National Park, ski resorts, restaurants, etc. 10 mins to Boulder and 3 mins to Lyons. And feel free to use the trampoline!

Beautiful Hillside Getaway

Very convenient to Lyons, Longmont and Boulder, with easy access and beautiful views. Communication with Pieter was timely, clear and easy. The space was very comfortable with all the amenities. The final driveway to the house is steep, and required low gear in my rented sedan, but it was not a problem once I got used to it. This was a great oasis while I was attending the festival in Lyons.

Great Stay!

This was a great central location for our weekend mountain adventures in Pleasant Valley, Estes Park, and Boulder. The rooms were very clean, although there is a bit of maintenance that needs to be done to a few things to make it even better. It fit our family of 4 well without any frills. While there was noise from upstairs, it usually wasn’t bad. The hot tub was a wonderful touch after full days of outdoor adventures!

Beautiful views!

This was a beautiful setting overlooking the lower area of Longmont with great views of ponds, trees and farm lands. The apartment is very comfortable with a good sized living area and big master bedroom. The path to the apartment is a bit rocky to walk on, but the view it affords is definitely worth it. The hosts were very easy to work with and lovely people. Make sure you have a sturdy car to make it up the mountain. Definitely would recommend this relaxing, quiet, beautiful apartment and area. Close to Longmont, Lyons and Boulder.

Lovely place

We loved the location and peaceful setting of this apartment. It was well equipped with everything we needed and communication with the owners was very easy and they respond quickly. You can hear footsteps from above since it is in a lower level, but generally not a problem.

Lovely setting, very clean, and very comfortable!

This property is a great value. It's spacious, very clean, very comfortable (great bed & bedding), has lovely finishes, spectacular views, and really easy access to both Lyons and Boulder. The only thing we'll mention is that you'll likely need a 4-wheel drive to get up the driveway in the winter.

What a wonderful location! We felt like we were perched on the side of a mountain, the view was great. My husband, daughter and I were comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for breakfast and snacks.

Loved the central location!

The hosts were wonderful; responsive, reliable, and accommodating. We primarily used the property as a base camp while we hiked the days away in Boulder, RMNP, and Estes. We could hear upstairs rumblings in the early evening and mid morning, but it was never excessive or persistent and certainly not bothersome. The bed wasn’t our most comfortable sleeping experience; however the soothing hot tub, the meticulously clean lodging, the fully stocked kitchen, the convenient location, and the agreeable price point exceedingly made up for any very minor discomfort we encountered. We would absolutely stay again!

Great property

The view alone makes this place a great deal. So beautiful and it felt very private even though it is attached to a home. It was well equipped for our needs. Communication with owner was always with quick, friendly response. Would definitely return.

Amazing views, great location.

Very nice property, very clean. However, the owners do live in the residence, so we did hear quite a lot of stomping and chatter upstairs. Other than that, it’s the absolute perfect place to stay. We didn’t mind the noise since we really were only there to sleep. It’s a very central, quite spot. About 45 mins from Denver, 30 mins from Estes park, 20 mins to Boulder. The views are just breathtaking. Nice big tv, very comfy bed. Lots of linens provided. And the hot tub was soooo relaxing!! Would definitely book again for our next trip to the Rockies.

Wonderful property!

We had a fantastic stay here! The place was clean and roomy and the views were spectacular. The location was great as it was just 20-30 minutes to either Boulder or Estes Park. The hosts were quick to respond to any questions we had. Highly recommend!

Comfy apartment! Spectacular views!

This small apartment perfectly accommodated the three of us. We loved watching the elk on the mountainside in the morning and hearing the owls and coyotes at night. The twinkling lights of the valley below we're spectacular. Pieter was very kind and helpful. We will be back.

Cozy spot!

Had a great experience here as it was in the middle of all the places we wanted to be. Really enjoyed the hot tub as well to end off our long days of hiking and exploring. It was the perfect space and had everything we needed. Thank you!

Best location for All Access to RMNP and Boulder / Denver

We were thrilled to find this location! My wife and I travel fairly frequently with work associates, and we often like to get further out into the wilderness than some of my co-workers. This leaves us with the challenge of finding a place to stay that is centrally located enough that we can engage with them in town while enjoying our preferred activities. This location offered a perfect balance of location, activities, and hospitality. The nightly rates were very affordable, the accommodation was great, and we were within 30-40 minutes' drive of most anything we wanted to do. We spent an afternoon in Boulder, an evening in Denver, and several days in Rocky Mountain National Park. We LOVED the fact that the host had a number of small touches taken care of for us. There were a good number of small things available for us including coffee grounds, some seasonings, condiments, etc. This may sound trivial, but when you don't have to go out to buy salt and pepper or coffee filters, it's a great benefit. We had use of the propane grill, the hot tub, Wi-Fi, and even our own bath robes! The location was very private and felt secure and safe! Pieter was very attentive to our needs and responded within moments if I sent him a message. He helped us with tips and advice, and even spent some time chatting with us in the driveway about the local history. We were 30 minutes from Estes Park, 30 minutes from Boulder, 45 minutes from Denver International Airport, and completely content with staring at the stars from the patio overlooking the lights of the small towns and ranches below the mountain side. If you are looking for convenient, clean, and welcoming accomodations at an affordable rate nestled in the heart of prime Colorado country... This is the place to be! Thanks to Pieter and his family for providing us with a great experience! If we visit the area again, we WILL be back to stay again! Cheers! Brian and Kate Bergstrom

Private, convenient and beautiful!

This was a perfect little spot for a private getaway just for me! It's about ten miles from Boulder and three from Lyons, so a car is pretty much necessary, but everything is very convenient. The apartment has its own door overlooking a broad valley with a patio for enjoying the view. Pieter was very responsive whenever I had a question. Found a great little restaurant just a couple of miles away, The Greenbriar Inn. Exploring Boulder was fun, but I really loved the area between Lyons and Estes Park. Terrific hiking and beautiful drive. Went horseback riding in Estes Park and had lunch at Cascade in the Stanley Hotel. A very nice property with all the comforts home but far enough away to feel secluded. I'll definitely go back!

What a View!

The host made it easy to get in and out and even though we were in their basement, we never saw them. We did hear a little sound upstairs, but nothing unsettling. The place was clean and neat. It has some cool art on the walls, the bed was comfortable. Sitting on the patio looking out over the valley was very nice! Three things were unexpected and are the reasons for the 4 star instead of 5: 1. No cooling system - this was fine in the evenings because it stayed fairly cool at night, but it could get a little warm during the day (July). A simple box fan to circulate the air during the day would resolved this. 2. The hot tub is 12-15ft up the gravel hill beside the house. Good location for the owner, a little tricky for the guest. 3. Some comfy chairs on the patio would have been more enjoyable to hang out there than the picnic table. We would definitely stay here again!

They property was exactly as described and suited us perfectly. The hot tub and provided robes were a lovely treat. Visitors should be aware if using a maps search that the address comes up as Longmont, not Lyons, but directions are accurate.

Amazing view, kind hosts, comfortable space.

Pieter and Charlotte are great hosts. They were communicative, flexible, and very kind. The space is set up nicely. It’s essentially a one bedroom apartment. The bedroom was spacious and the bed was comfortable. The living space was multipurpose with the kitchen, dining, living, and bathroom. The couch folds out for maximum lounging or an additional bed. We ended up not using the hot tub, but I have no doubt it would be lovely. The private patio with picnic table and grill is a really nice addition. The one and only thing that I can say that might be a consideration is the noise factor. Because it is the basement of a families home, the noise from upstairs was sometimes quite a lot. If you have no concerns about occasional noise, don’t hesitate to book. You will not be sorry. The view is absolutely lovely. Get up to watch the sunrise, it’s worth it!!

Pieter's apartment was wonderful! It had plenty of room for my wife and me to feel comfortable when we weren't out exploring the mountains. Pieter was very kind when we checked in and accommodated our requests. We hope to check in again next time!

Make sure you try the hot tub!

Our stay at Pieter's was truly wonderful. The location was far enough out to enjoy the quiet, but close enough to Boulder that there was plenty to do - Rocky Mountain National Park is only about 45 minutes away and a great day trip. Do make sure you have an all-wheel or 4WD vehicle if you come in the winter - the driveway can be a little slick if it's snowy. The place itself was clean, well furnished, and well decorated. The kitchenette had everything we needed to make simple meals at home. Make sure you take advantage of the hot tub - the stars are gorgeous on a clear night. The only real issue we had was that the coffee maker ran pretty slow - so make sure you program that sucker before bed! Thanks for making us feel at home, Pieter!
