Venture Garden House is centrally located in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area between Portland and Hood River. Cascade Locks offers stunning mountain, river, and waterfall views and easy access to hiking, cycling, sailing, fishing, paddling/kayaking, dining, and more. This cozy one-bedroom home is an ideal retreat to relax, explore, play, and simply be, often without ever having to hop in the car. It's an easy walk to the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) trailhead, Marine Park (with boat launch and beach), coffee bar, breweries, restaurants, fish market, post office and grocery store. Nearby Stevenson, Washington, (hop over via The Bridge of The Gods) and Hood River, Oregon offer more shopping, dining, indoor and outdoor recreation, and entertainment, and Portland is a 45-minute drive.

Beautiful Home Great Location

My wife and I stayed at this home during our Columbia River Gorge hiking vacation and couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Well cared for and perfect for a couple or two. Everything was in top shape and it’s so close to some of the best day hikes in the gorge and only an hour away from Mount Hood.

Great place for a Gorge Getaway!

This property was not only ideally located for visiting the Gorge, it was immaculate and extremely well stocked. It seemed as if the owners tried to supply everything their guests might need. We especially appreciated all the labels on the cabinets - both for finding things and for putting them back - and all the provided plug-ins for electronics. And the view was lovely. Highly recommend!

Darling Cottage

This little cottage was perfect for my stay in the Gorge. Easy access to Hood River and Portland, beautiful property and even a view of the river. The cottage was equipped with everything I needed!

Beautiful Home, Very Convenient

The home is beautiful and is very good shape. The bedroom space upstairs is spacious. The location is great, walking distance to the restaurants. Very close to the Cascade Locks Marine Park.

Delightful home

This delightful home has much to boast about: great views of the mountains around, super kitchen to cook in, a wraparound porch, nice linens and a comfy bed, and tasteful decor. It is also a short walk to the local restaurants and park. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and had everything we could have needed and more. This home is a gem in a quiet town!

Perfect Cascade Locks Stay

We had a wonderful time! The house had everything we needed to cook and to have a comfortable stay. Every detail was perfect. We did several hikes that the owners suggested in their welcome binder. They have many resources for the area that were all spot on. The sauna was amazing! Can’t wait to come back.

Great little house in cascade locks

This little house has everything you need, even a sauna. Super comfy and well equipped. The only downside is the highway noise, but they even supply earplugs. The perfect little house for 2! Careful on the wooden steps as they are slippery! We loved the place and it met our every need, highly recommended!

If it seems too good to be true...

At least that was my fear as I walked up on the porch and punched in the entry combination. I was extremely relieved but somewhat surprised that the combination worked and we crossed the threshold into this gorgeous house. I mean...What was the catch? How could they offer such a beautiful house with so many great amenities at this low price? A few blocks from the Pacific Crest Trail and the Bridge of the Gods, nice breweries, groceries, coffeehouse, and restaurants in easy walking distance...centered close to all sorts of parks, trails, and natural wonders. Ideal location in every respect. The house was well stocked with all sorts of odds and ends that we as Americans rely on: A fully equipped kitchen, washer, dryer...even a first aid kit. We also had a couple cold, rainy days where the sauna was well appreciated. A couple of the comments mentioned the traffic noise. Highway noise can be heard from the bathrooms because of their orientation to the highway, but in the living room and bedroom the noise is barely audible, and a nice sound machine is in the bedroom to drown out any noise for light sleepers. I suppose that I should mention the only thing that I can conceive some Americans might find disappointing: Only one small TV. Not a complaint for us as we were too busy engaging in all the area had to offer to want to waste our time watching TV...Plus, the house is well stocked with many entertaining books. OK...I'd better end this. Loved the house, loved the area!

Short but Sweet

My partner and I stayed here for only two nights, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The area was great, lots of fun things to do nearby. The neighbors were very friendly. The property itself was clean and stylish, and the sauna was a delight. We both agreed we would stay here again given the chance!

Very displeased

I was expecting a 5-star stay at the Venture Garden House. I was very displeased with the lack of cleanliness upon arrival (stains in the bathtub, dirty towels in washer AND dryer, greasy fingerprints on microwave and stove-top)-especially during the pandemic, this is unacceptable. The sauna was unusable, and there was a pervasive unpleasant smell in the kitchen that maintenance came the first day to work on, but it did not fix the issue and Arrived did not fix and/or address the issue (or any of the others) until after I left. Arrived was curt in their responses to me-unempathetic-and did not provide proper compensation for how negative my experience was (I had to stay out of the house most of the time due to the smell). I even left the place cleaner than I found it. I feel very slighted as a customer and will not be using Arrived services again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone.

Cute cottage, great location.

Great property with lots of amenities. The sauna was wonderful. Coffee, cooking, and laundry supplies were all provided. Very organized, well kept home, conveniently located near lots of outdoor activities.

Perfect Honeymoon Getaway

Great, cozy location in Cascade Locks

This easy-to-access property was just what we needed to be able to stay near some of the sites we wanted to see in the Columbia River Gorge. The town is quiet and this property is a short walk away from a good local coffee shop. It was nice to have dedicated parking and the owners clearly had thought through all the things their guests might need.
