Cette villa est idéale pour les familles et les couples. Il a un grand salon donnant sur deux balcons spacieux, une cuisine / salle à manger, 3 chambres doubles climatisées et 2 salles de bain.
La villa est équipée de TV satellite, lecteur DVD, internet wifi, stations d'accueil iPod, jeux, lit de voyage et chaise haute. Dehors, il y a une piscine (9,5 x 5 m, 1,22 m de profondeur) entourée d'une grande terrasse, équipée de chaises longues, chaises longues, parasols et barbecue à gaz.
Vous pourrez dîner en plein air sur les balcons ou sur la terrasse couverte au rez-de-chaussée où vous pourrez admirer de superbes vues. Il y a aussi des zones de stationnement et de jeux de balle. Il existe un assortiment d'équipements de jeux de plein air, y compris un filet de basket-ball et des battes et des balles.
Une aire de jeux fermée pour les tout-petits avec des jouets où vos tout-petits peuvent jouer pendant que vous vous détendez au bord de la piscine est également disponible sur demande.

very rural and quiet villa

the villa is very quiet and rural with spectacular views from upper balconies over Souda bay and sea. the roads are very narrow and hair pin bends but wonderful views all the way. The pool was lovely and very large most welcome in the heat. Paul the owner was very good with communicating with us, every thing thought of. had a fantastic relaxing break, many thanks.

A very quiet location, not much going on around.

The property is lovely. Rustic, not particularly modern - typically Greek. It was prime season, so I perhaps paid over the odds for the property - this is compared to better quality villas I have stayed in for less on previous occasions. The property was in the middle of nowhere - the road beyond went nowhere else, so there was little traffic and little road noise. You could, however, hear the occasional roar of the jets arriving at the airport in Chania, across the bay. The only other notable sound was the bells around the sheep's necks, as they grazed in the field beside the villa and the typical sound of cicadas. The pool was very good. The house was cool and comfortable. Kitchen had all that was needed. The kids used the free wifi, which kept them entertained, sometime too entertained! There was only one local taverna open which was a 20 minute walk downhill and a little more puff to get back up the hill. This was of a high standard, despite its basic look. The local people were fantastic. Other tavernas were available if you wanted to drive a little further. We had a little bit of a battle with ants coming into the kitchen, but this was manageable and not too much of an issue. The bigger issue was the wasps, who seemed to appear especially when we decided to dine outside. Annoying to say the least, but I believe this is because we were there in late August and it is generally not an issue earlier in the season. A car was essential. Overall, it was a relaxing break and the villa ticked most of the boxes for us.

La maison était parfaite et conforme à la description. Emplacement stratégique pour visiter la partie ouest de la Crête. Nous recommandons !

Traumhaft !

Es lässt sich kaum in Worte fassen, was wir in zwei Wochen in dieser Feriendestination alles erleben durften. Von der Lage über die Ausstattung des Hauses einfach alles nur "Top". Zu erwähnen auch der Eigentümer Paul ! Alle Anfragen innert kürze sehr hilfreich und nett beantwortet. Alles was es braucht mit dem Auto in unmittelbarer Nähe erreichbar. Wunderschöne, ruhige Lage ! Sei es für einen Kurztripp an eine Bucht oder für Tagesausflüge. Können den Vermieter als auch die Villa nur weiterempfehlen. Danke Paul !

Tranquillity at its Best

Fantastic detached villa with lots of privacy in a fantastic location on the hillside. The large, well-maintained pool is just perfect for the hot weather. Several beaches and villages nearby. Perfect for all types of holidays.

Everything we wanted and more !

Villa Challis is an exceptional property, exactly as advertised: spacious, spotlessly clean, well equipped with everything you would need. The bedrooms are large and the beds comfortable. The location is great, the privacy, the stunning Sea & mountain views especially at sun-set which we watched each evening from the upstairs terrace -Fab! Our 3 teenage girls made the most of the large pool and after dark, the dvd’s / box sets were a great way to relax after dinner. The nearby beaches are beautiful, clean and not too busy. The nearby restaurants and tavernas and great value with friendly hosts with tasty and great value food. We got warm welcome everywhere we visited with locals willing to converse and exceptionally friendly. We would recommend Villa Challis to anybody looking for quality accommodation in a beautiful location! We had a wonderful holiday. Thanks Paul, we’ll be back!!

Great villa, friendly accessible owner and local manager

We have stayed in a number of villas in different places and this was one of the best equipped from all perspectives. It was comfortable and attractive, and the facilities were clean and excellent - swimming pool, outside chairs and table, sun loungers, comfortable living room with upstairs balcony to watch the sunset over the sea. The kitchen had everything needed which is often not the case! Parking area and front, back and side garden and patio areas so that it felt very private and spacious.The next door villa and this one had clearly been built so that they didn't overlook each other. The local managers were very responsive with advice and checking all was well. The owner similarly - as the wifi had not worked initially - was quick to respond and help us reset it. Location-wise, it is not far from a small local cove where you can snorkel and there are sandy beaches 10-15 mins drive away. Different ciatal and hill walks were not too far away either. We really enjoyed eating in the village 'glass factory' taverna, with really friendly family running it and interesting range of locally sourced food. While the weather wasn't perfect (but you can't expect non-stop sunshine every day at end September/start of October), we had a great week, thank you. We'll be back when we get a chance.

Fantastic villa just like home from home

Villa Challis was in quite a remote area on the hillside in a very quiet location with the most amazing views of Sousa bay, the sea and mountains behind. The villa was clean and tidy and the kitchen was well equipped with everything that you needed including a gas BBQ on one of the terraces off the upstairs lounge. We enjoyed many evenings on the terraces eating our meals watching the sun setting, which was an amazing site. You could also see the aeroplanes coming in over the sea to land at Chania airport with minimal noise. The pool is a decent size and there is also a shower at one end to use before entering. The weather as a whole was warm and sunny however sometimes it was very windy at the villa. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Challis in Crete and would definitely recommend it for a relaxing quiet holiday.

Splendido

Abbiamo trascorso due settimane perfette a Villa Challis. La casa è meravigliosa ed il panorama incantevole: i tramonti sul mare in una cornice da favola qui sono impagabili. La casa è attrezzata di tutto quello che può servire, non manca nulla per far sentire gli ospiti a proprio agio; unico neo, forse, la connessione internet non sempre funzionante...ma forse è anche meglio così. Grazie di cuore, lasciamo Kokkino Chorio con molta nostalgia. Pensiamo giá alla prossima volta.

Great week, highly recommended!

Myself and friends had a fantastic stay in Villa Challis. As we did not have a car, it was great that there were 3 tavernas in walking distance all serving delicious food. We were regular visitors to the traditional taverna in Kokkino Chorio village square for morning coffee and cake and for a few beers in the early evening. When we visited the beach and restaurants in Almyrida bay we found the local taxi service to be very efficient. The highlight of the trip was jumping and diving from the rocks into the clear blue sea at the local Kokkino Chorio beach. We will return.

My wife and I live on the South coast of the UK. We have 4 kids and we really enjoy holidays and travelling.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We decided this was the ideal villa for my wife and I and our 4 children to spend our holidays. Its peaceful and tranquil yet only 10 minute walk outside the traditional Cretan village of Kokkino Chorio and 10 minute drive from Almyrida bay with its blue flag sandy beaches and many beach lined tavernas. We have had many great holidays.

Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?

The villa stands in half an acre of land. There is a private swimming pool (9.5m x 5m, 1.2m deep) surrounded by a very large terrace, equipped with sun beds, deck chairs and umbrellas. The grounds are extensive, offering plenty of space to play games, explore or hide away. There are different areas to enjoy; gravelled, natural habitat and local fauna, olive and almond trees as well as areas for ball games, including basketball. There are two large upstairs balconies; one is equipped for dining for 6 people and the other for more intimate dining for 2 or for relaxing on sunbeds. Off the downstairs bedrooms guests can enjoy the terraces overlooking the sea views and mountains. Off the kitchen is a large outdoor covered dining area which also seats 6. Here you can enjoy the amazing views. Set in a rural location, the views are stunning with the sound of the bells of the local sheep and goats as they roam the neighbouring fields. This is an idyllic and peaceful setting
