Quels sont les atouts de cet hébergement ?
Ideally located in the heart of the historic town of Conwy, Tŷ-Twr is in a prime position to sample everything the medieval town has to offer. Stepping right out the property you're only a short walk from the town's many bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Visit the magnificent 13th century Conwy Castle, a fortress which stands on a rocky outcrop overlooking the town and surrounding area. The castle was built by King Edward I of England during his reign, alongside the town walls which are 1.3km in length, much of which can still be accessed to walk along. The castle and town walls provide epic views of the surrounding coastline and the Northern Carneddau mountain range. Explore Conwy's picturesque harbour, or Quay, and visit The Smallest House in Great Britain which only has one small room downstairs and another upstairs. Grab an ice cream and watch the fishermen heading out to sea, or head to the famous Conwy Mussels Company to take home some mussels, renowned as the best in the UK. The town features many other historical attractions including Plas Mawr and Aberconwy House - at every turn there is more stunning architecture to be found.
For guests who plan to dine out, Conwy has a wealth of fantastic restaurants to suit all tastes. From fish and chips through to fine dining, Conwy has options to suit all. Fans of Spanish tapas should head to The Midland Tapas and Wine Bar, while meat lovers should reserve a table at Lava Hot Stone Kitchen - a restaurant where diners cook fresh meat and fish at their table on a hot stone. For fine dining fans, the newly opened The Jackdaw by Nick Rudge on Conwy's High Street serves some fantastic and creative dishes, in a fabulous setting. There are also plenty of drinking options in this small town, all of which are are only a few minutes away from your boutique three bedroom holiday cottage in Conwy. Many of these focus heavily on supporting local brewers and producers. For drinks in vibrant and modern setting, head to Bank of Conwy with its high ceilings and lively atmosphere. Wine lovers should visit Vinomondo - a wine shop and cosy bar on the High Street. The perfect spot for a relaxed drink in a traditional pub setting is the Albion Ale House, located only a few doors down from Tŷ-Tŵr. The bar and lounge areas are comfortable and cosy, and with a roaring log fire it's a great pub to grab a drink with the locals.
For those who wish to explore the surrounding area, Conwy is the ideal base for a number of walks which provide some great views. The Wales Coast Path runs along Conwy Quay and from here there are fantastic coastal walks in both directions. Head west out of Conwy along the coast path, and a twenty minute walk will bring you to the beach at Conwy Morfa - a wild and wonderful expanse of sandy beach which provides amazing views across to Ynys Mon (Anglesey) and of the Great Orme headland in Llandudno. Following the coastal path in the other direction leads towards Llandudno, providing a fantastic route across and along the Conwy Estuary and to the sandy West Shore beach. This is a stunning six mile walk that shouldn't be missed. Heading to higher elevations, there is a walking path from Conwy which leads to the summit of Mynydd y Dref (Conwy Mountain). This headland located to the west of the town is a beautiful spot with numerous walking trails which are a blaze of purple in late summer thanks to the heather that grows here. Lucky visitors might meet some of the wild Carneddau Ponies which roam freely in the area, and if not, the spectacular views are worth it regardless.
