This listing is for our interior corridor 1bd apartments, PLEASE be sure to read the entire description. We have a no questions asked refund policy. If you are unhappy about anything during your check in or stay, we will refund you 100% of any unused nights.
These units have a true 1bd and full size kitchen. This unit can sleep 2-4 max, we only allow a max of 4 guests. Our 1bds are generally booked by long term guests and have had a lot of turnover. The furniture is less than 5 years old but definitely starting to show its age. These units are very popular for the full size kitchen and floorplan. Our most common complaints are noise and smells from neighbors, neighborhood off the freeway, occasional pests like ants during the summer months and the locks needing battery changes. The carpet is showing its age and may have varying levels of staining. We are changing over to hard flooring over time but your assigned unit will most likely have carpet. Guests have generally been pretty hard on these units and there may be varying levels of deferred maintenance. The pics are representative of the apartment but please do not expect a perfectly renovated hotel style luxury unit. Do expect a comfortable and safe apartment with everything you will need for your long term stay. We are very responsive and if you have any issues during your stay, we will be here to help.
Welcome to Metro PHX. We specialize in all inclusive living. We are an apartment community (Converted from former 4 star Marriot Residence Inn) with all rooms remodeled with features such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, commercial grade carpet and designer furnishings. All of our kitchens are fully stocked and the living room couch folds into a queen size bed. You will enjoy Cox cable with a premium package and broadband internet. All windows are fitted with black out coverings. All bathrooms have modern granite and showerheads are high pressure. Please note that we are not a hotel and do not provide daily maid service, renewal towel or linen service beyond the initial setup. We do not provide refills of toilet paper, dishwasher soap or any other supplies. We do provide cups, utensils and most kitchenware. Please expect to make a Walmart run during the first week of your stay. There is not a washer and dryer in your unit but there is a washer dryer facility onsite.
Things to know (PLEASE PLEASE READ): We are in an urban Phoenix location and you will experience all the good and bad that comes with being in a central downtown urban location. This means you may hear freeway noise, see homeless people at the freeway exit, etc. This may not be the best family friendly community. We do have full time security onsite and do not have issues but if you are highly sensitive and expecting a rural or suburban experience, this will not be for you. We rarely get bad reviews but when we do it is always a guest that is not expecting an urban experience. All of our 1bd no pets units are interior corridor meaning they are in a building with coded entrance. Although rare, this also means there may be noise from neighbors, doors shutting, or upstairs noise. You may also smell marijuana or cigarette smoke if a guest is breaking the rules (this is a problem statewide after marijuana legalization). You may hear a fire alarm if one unit is triggered (commercial safety code). We strictly enforce a site wide non smoking policy but there have been guests that break those rules in the past. If you are highly sensitive to the remote possibility of smelling smoke, then this may not be the rental for you. We want to be 100% upfront and avoid missed expectations. We promise to do everything we can to make your stay perfect.
Amenities: Our grounds and amenities are unmatched and feature a sparkling pool, built in BBQ with outdoor tables, sports court, gym, business centers (small and large gatherings). Dog park, sports court, BBQ, Firepit and clubhouse are all onsite.
Location: We are about as central as you can be in Phoenix. Right off the 17 freeway, you will be 15 minutes from everything including the airport, camelback corridor, downtown, Tempe, and Scottsdale. Please keep in mind that there may be freeway noise on the grounds so if you are very sensitive then you may want to consider another option.
Fine Print: We accept one pet maximum 30 lb weight limit. Second pet allowable under most circumstances if pet is mature and trained. We do not provide daily maid or linen service. Your room is cleaned before you check in and after you check out only. We do not provide shampoo, toothpaste, etc. We are focused on longer term stays of 5 days + but we do host for 2 day stays. Shorter term reservations can only be made within the same week of travel. Our internet speeds vary. We subscribe to Cox 1GB but there are many factors in the speed our guests will receive at any time. We provide no guarantees and do not reimburse for down internet time. Please note we do have ADA accessible units and can provide, just let us know in advance. We are 100% self check in, you will receive a code for your door 2 hours in advance of check in. Our location is 8242 N. Black Canyon Highway, Phoenix, Arizona.
Our complex is clean, secure and 99% of our guests have a fantastic stay. When we do get negative feedback, it is usually from a guest that stayed 3 days or less, larger families or mismatched expectations. We would like to set expectations and be very forthright. Here is our best attempt at full disclosure:
1. Pictures of the complex were taken in June 2021 and are recent BUT our photographer is great and some guests have said the pics look better than reality.
2. Phoenix is in the middle of homeless/housing crisis. You will see homeless at many of our iconic locations including 101/Frank LLoyd in Scottsdale, 101/Warner in Tempe, etc. We are not immune and our location is certainly not A+. You may see homeless people at the exit to our complex, on Frontage Rd, etc. We do everything in our power to control this including security on site but this is a fact of life in Phoenix. We have had out of state guests that did not appreciate this site.
3. This is a 168 unit complex and we are generally always booked up. We screen our guests and tenants and have a no smoking, drug, public alcohol policy that we strictly enforce. Unfortunately, people do not always follow the rules. We have had to cancel reservations due to smoking on the property and this happens.
4. Our 1bd and 2bd units are in interior corridor space. This means that you may hear noise from the upstairs neighbor, domestic abuse situations, guests leaving trash in hallway, etc. We have strict rules and process for keeping everything clean and civil but things can happen.
The bottom line is if you are expecting a quiet, off the beaten path bungalow B&B, this is not it. We are clean, modern, affordable with fantastic amenities. Our units are professionally cleaned/sanitized and we have an on staff office and maintenance to address all guest needs. We care about our guests and the guest experience and have overwhelming positive feedback.

MetroPHX caters to longer term stays of 5+ days. We will host shorter stays if booked within the same week. We do not offer daily maid or linen service and toiletries are not provided. We try to keep our grounds meticulous and we have a fully staffed office here to help.
Guest Access:
We are a 100% automated check in solution. If you want to see us during your stay, come visit in the office otherwise your in and out with ease. You will get a unique code sent to you in advance and use that code to enter your unit.
