Very nice Loft!
You might still be in the process, but finishing the Sheetrock around the bedroom AC vents would nice.
The roosters next door were disturbing at 5am each morning. Didn’t get much sleep Friday night due to drunk, loud backyard men yelling and cursing and then a huge, large truck parking next to their yard at 3am. My friend that was with me wasn’t happy that a cat was on top of her car inside her kayak when we came back Friday afternoon.
I don’t want this to sound negative but I would want to know what my guests experienced too.
So sorry about the problems you had. I can't control the wild rooster and cat population in Ocean Springs. It's part of Ocean Springs charm...but I'll bring it up at City Hall to see what they can do.
You came during the biggest night time Mardi Gras Parade in Ocean Springs. People tend to stay up a little later and be a little louder than usual.
Perfect location for our quick trip
Came into town for 3-nights and found our stay here to be very pleasant. The location is great for easy walks to several restaurants and bars. Had it been warmer we would have rented bikes and drove up and down the coast but it wasn’t so we will save that to do the next time we return. We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you for the use of your loft cottage and in making our stay an enjoyable one.
Great walkable location
We enjoyed our stay & look forward to visiting again soon.
Cute, Cozy, Close to Everything
To get closer to all the action in downtown Ocean Springs, you’d have to be staying above one of the many hoppin’ businesses there. This well-designed and equipped garage apartment was a perfect home base for our three-day weekend. I could take the shortcut to the many attractions — both daytime and night — while my husband took the car for the short trip to the nearby municipal fishing pier. I rented a bike while there for additional mobility, enjoying the slow lane in this extremely bike-friendly town. There’s a business on Government St. — PaddlesUp — which rents kayaks and SUPs; tried my hand kayaking the small-craft harbor and MS Sound as well. This town is hitting on so many cylinders — many different dining options, exceptional varied retail, charmingly walkable downtown, a thriving arts community, easily accessible outdoor activities, nearby natural beauty, and the (bigger) city attractions of Biloxi just across the Bay Bridge — that it’s hard to go wrong staying here. We enjoyed our meals at The Shed, The Greenhouse on Porter, Glory Bound Gyro Company (pepperjack gyro FTW/active nightlife scene here as well), Vestige, Phoenicia Gourmet for Sunday brunch, and Woody’s Roadside on Bienville Blvd., a sports bar with awesome burgers. There’s also a very competitive sweets scene here — had a delicious pistachio gelato from French Kiss on Washington, as well as a gourmet popsicle from Pop Bros. on Cash Alley (don’t miss this place!) The weekly farmer’s market is just a short stroll from The Loft, from 9 am to 1 pm every Saturday; well worth a browse. Everyone we had contact with in this tourist-friendly town was gracious and helpful. Ben, the host and owner of The Loft, was an affable and available presence, assisting with local info, and tweaking the property itself to suit his guests’ needs. We appreciated the kitchen area’s separateness from the sleeping quarters, ensuring that visitors observing different schedules (early fishers/late-night clubbers, for example) did not interfere with each other’s enjoyment. The space itself is extremely fresh and clean, and decorated with a hiply coastal vibe downstairs; the bedroom is antique-filled, and evocative. There is a clever firepit in the yard for guests to use, and Ben graciously offers his garden and gas grill, as well. At night, before closing time, music from the nearby bar can be enjoyed free of charge in the outdoor seating area. (We heard an exceptionally good blues band during our stay.)
Everything you need in the perfect location!
This darling garage apartment is tucked securely behind the owners’ home one block from restaurants and shopping in quaint downtown Ocean Springs. It’s the perfect location for walking to and from downtown attractions! East beach (Go there! No public restrooms, but also no tourists!) is a tiny drive from The Loft and is a must see. We spent most of a day there and went back for sunset! Mikey’s on the Bayou, the Crawfish House, Buzzy’s, and the Greenhouse on Porter were our restaurant choices. I’ve followed up with more info (all extremely positive) about them on Trip Advisor. For a solo or duet, The Loft will hit just the right note! :)
The Loft in Ocean Springs
We had a wonderful stay there-very nice place. Perfect location downtown within walking distance of most everything. The owner was very accommodating and nice. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
